My contact Numbers duplicated by it self ?

some times i find my numbers in contact book are duplicated by it self and also if i want to do backup for them the contact numbers total become 2500 number at the time it is not more than 700 number ??!! please any solution ?
Note:
i only display the phone contact numbers .

if synch with google contacts, go to browser, navigate to google contacts and use merge duplicates.
If you use alternative means to synch contacts google/search those, someone else might have had the same issue and solved it someway or another. Here on XDA or elsewhere.

@topicstarter give more info, if none are true, how did you get conta ts on the phone? Also check if the double contacts are not double, but in fact saved in different locations.
If office 360, just guessing here, there are two threads where people have succeeded.
If only one gmail, use the merge feature and then sync phone. You might have missed this step last time.

Maybe you activated the contacts saved on the phone memory and the sim card.
So it shows double contacts.
Try to disable one on the settings.

Guys this problem happened suddenly by it self! !!!!!
One day i restarted my Note and i found all contacts are duplicated but it self! !!!!!!!!
All the solutions you guys i new them and thanks for that.

Abnormal android os background data consumption

Hi.
I am on cm10 nightly 7-9-12 and I've got a very unusual problem.
The android os consumed 407 mb of data while I was asleep . I hadn't kept anything for download .
Can someone help and tell me what might be the reason for this and how can I prevent this in case it occurs again?

It's pretty abnormal, this is now android problem anyway, look apps u installed like game, or Google drive and same
Install only from market, only trusted app and install droidwall for block Internet usage for some apps
This is the solution, I don't think it's a bug

This could be due to sync between google, google drive, cloud storage of all your media, images etc in the background, shut down background data in accounts and sync , when not required

Thank you for your response, I'm afraid that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't use cloud storage, Google drive and sync is switched off always.

This is how I solved it:
Fresh install ROM
During setup, make sure to UNCHECK "Restore settings from Google" and "Backup .... to Google servers"
Data usage after setup was about 4-10M and growing fast subsequently but now after doing this its under 200k.
I'm not sure what happens if I turn the backup and restore back on but I'd experiment with it when I don't have to rely on mobile data as much and report back. Hope this helps.

Chromecast cant connect to set up.

Hey everybody I just my chromecast in the mail today and Im trying to set it up.
But during the set up process I'm getting an error message saying the app (laptop or Phone) cant connect to your Chromecast.
I trying all the troubleshooting methods mentioned to me to no avail. My router is a Netgear 7550 if that matters.
Ive tried everything I could think of any help would be appreciated xda thanks!

i was getting a similar error initially after flashing the flashcast 13300 zip, but only when I attempted to setup from a browser.
when i used the chromecast app it worked without issue. you sure you've established a connection from the phone to the chromecast?

I think thats the issue. Establishing the connection with the chromecast. When I get to that part o get an error. Mine is not rooted or anything its brand new out the box and I havent been able to set up anything.

is the chromecast displaying on your tv screen..? make sure it's powered up, & connect your wifi to the 'chromecastXXX' network.

Yea its saying set me up and the Chromecast name. I just cant connect to the wifi its showing it though. Idk. Im running on little to no sleep so I bet its something simple.

Google play music error

Is any one having any issues with google play music ?
I can download apps and have no issues.
But as soon as I click music on the store page it says connection timed out.

Does it work for you now? I can access it just fine. Could have been google servers resetting after the play store was hacked and crashed.

Have you tried connecting through wifi? It took a long time to load up the first time i tried and I had full bars on LTE. Just guessing here since it looks like your signal is not as strong.

I tried wifi also still no success

Here is a list of things you can try to fix the timeout issue. Have you messed with time and date settings? Or daylight savings might have caused a sync error with google servers? Good luck

Ok here is the work around I found if you go to Google play music app info and un install the updates for it . Then go back to Google play store click music it works for me.

Just download and install. First time you send a message with it, it will ask if you want to set as default. This has some nice improvements over stock.

Yea I just set it as the default app when it asked. It received the picture but it said the download failed when I tried to download it said downloading forever.

I uninstalled it. The material design is nice but it bothered me that I had to keep the stock message app also. I had the stock app hidden with xposed GEL settings but it was still bothering me. I also uninstalled the Lollipop Gmail app and is now solely running Inbox for email. My fascination with Lollipop has come to an end. Lol

Unfortunately, as Caseyk621 mentioned above, the only way I was able to get the app not to FC was to leave the stock app in there. Maybe something to do with the ROM as it is a hit and miss for lollipop apps at this point and the ways to get the apps to work are different for everyone. As an example, I have not found a way to make the lollipop calendar app to work and I've tried every way imaginable. So, at this point I am over it, back to stability and functionality for me. The rest of the eye candy will come later. Inbox is pretty cool though and is now my daily driver. The new Play Music app is awesome and the new Google Now launcher ties everything together nicely.
