Let Google release Kit Kat,
then let them release its source,
then let CM start working on nightlies,
let the nightlies stabilise a bit,
Non neon support has been dropped... HOPEFULLY some one using tegra device will manage to port it for us,
then maybe... who knows... depends on the nature of changes too...
Now how do you want the chances, using mathematics or statistics... should I use conditional probability
We only have official ICS, all of jellybean is unofficial...
i say enjoy the current candy, The ROM JB 4.3 is very much stable and usable as daily driver...

Hahahahahaha seriously? 4.3 is still being stabilized and you ask for 4.4 that is still not out? Geez, i love xda lol

I think it's not very hurry to get a android4.4 because 4.3 is very smooth and stable too.:cyclops:

Yes I know that kowalski and tonyp is working hard on 4.3 (kowalski on the kernel) and they did an amazing job (respect to them) but the people will always want the new "thing" I use 4.3 too (love it) but I look forward too for 4.4

i will wait for kowalski and tonyp's new roms n kernels for 4.4
No doubt their work is awesome.

hi
4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 none of them are stable.
I use but each with their problem.
I'm with The Rom Tony P. and love,
clear that hdmi and bluetooth does not work,
but to me it does not matter to me,
but that means unstable,
hopefully Tony P together with a Kernel MASTER PENGUS,
again make our 2X a great phone and not stop in time.:good:

you right

Also, i've read that KitKat should be heavily optimized to work well with devices that have lower specs and 512 megs of memory. Sounds like a good news, but i guess only tonyp and pengus could shed some light on that

fingers crossed. Well for those who can't wait for android 4.4 and just want to have a feel of it feel free to download the apks for it.

i dunno if it's true or not, but i read this "One of the key features of the new release is optimizations made to the OS, so as to be able to run smoothly on legacy devices with just 512 MB of RAM." but with that said, i think it will be only custom roms with the Optimus 2X that will give us Android 4.4 bcs i doubt that pre 2011 phone with Android will get updated like LG would give the Optimus 2x, Android 4.4 but i could be wrong...

well i think its time to say goodbye to O2X .....been using it for almost 3 yrs.it had good run....just ordered NEXUS 5......:laugh:

If you guys are so eagerly waiting for 4.4 then why not change it in build prop .
Simple I am doing it since gingerbread. currently I am on 10.2.6

The N5 is very good, but has some negative things.
Battery and camera when change will be for the LG G2 , xiaomi mi3 or S4
Tanujcool how?

Use root explorer
/system/build.prop
open it in editor and change Android version top your desired one
note sure you r/w the build prop directory
also search on google "how to change Android version via build prop "

this piece of news says that this update will be out in 2 or tree weeks... i hope its true.
still 2.6.32.9 kernel according to the picture
so its the same bastardized bullsh** like the G2x ...
well done LG, like selling a Windows 7 themed Windows 95 ~.~
I aint so sure about that. That kernel should contain all the functions GB need. Correct me if I'm wrong
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
As long as you stay with the stock rom, it doesn't make any difference at all I think. If you want to create/hack something else it would have been better with a newer kernel version. Nvidia cleaned up and standardized lots of stuff in their 2.6.36 version so it would have made it a lot easier to modify for proper usb/bluetooth/etc support.

Arcee called the G2x Gingerbread bastardized, because it is simply Gingerbread hacked around Froyo drivers and user space. It may run and look like Gingerbread, but lots of benefits which should be introduced with gingerbread will be left out.
Like I said, Its like running Windows 7 with hacked XP drivers.

agree with you, you'll miss a lot like better battery management, more i/o scheduler, maybe new cpu governor except performance/powersave, something like that will be offering with new kernel... offcourse LG can patch this feature to existing feature, i think that will more not cost effective because there maybe some pre requisite that need to be match..
will cyanogenmod and miui profit from the upcoming release?

any news on c version for cm7?

Jellybean SDK released!! just sayin

Jellybean SDK here... although we dont have compatible drivers =P.... bound to be interesting heee
Maybe its the same base drivers from ICS?
But the issue is the system requirements. Things like 60fps, Vsync, triple buffering and higher CPU priority for responsiveness should choke our humble Black.
Not all devices have stable ics and the relaesed jb already xD
Sent from my LG Optimus Black using xda premium
Nexus S will be upgraded so, it should be possible also for our Black, but I doubt we'll ever receive a stable ICS
we will receive stable ics, either by our developer friends or lg
I'm having faith on the devs, I'm sure ICS will be stable on OB soon.
and Jellybeans will be twice the wait that's for sure...
Nothing is sure..
What is it with google and their uneagerness of releasing new oses

JB 4.2 to i9300/9305

Did you think that ever will be released?

Hi, Sure... But when???
Here in Sweden we just got 4.1.2. So i assume we have some monts of waiting..
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will be revealed for the new Google Phone during Google I/O in May 2013.
So hope to get the 4.2 in May.
Exact but it is not small differences between the 4.1.2 and the 4.2..So i prefer to update direct to 5.0

As been mentioned cm10.1 almost up and running on lte ...ive tryed it myself not bad like been said few bugs but nothing that wont be fixed within couple of weeks at most with luck..Not reall any full time let alone part time developers really working on it...maybe now the thing actually runs pretty well they might get there butts in to gear and finish rom off..lol and we shall become bloody enlightened with there wisdom...
Sv: JB 4.2 to i9300/9305
It would be nice to see it came alive so we can try...
Sent from my GT-I9305.
Now there is both CM10.1 in alpha and a RC of LiquidSmooth.
None of them is perfect yet, but with the speed of development the last couple of weeks I think its just a matter of days.
As mentioned in the previous posts, yea there are roms for 4.2.1/2 already! like CM10.1 and Liquidsmooth (4.2.2)
Personally I would say go for LiquidSmooth. For now, it has better support and lesser bugs
I've tried Android 4.2.1 with CM mod but it's a little bit disappointing. I can't see any real useful changes so far.

no, Samsung will not release Exynos sources, so it will never be final
I hate to say it but we are either gonna get more support in next months or less support.

Could this work to port a ROM from HTC One X ?

honestly the guide is crappy and miss all the hardware dependent information and what needs to be modified to match current hardware and ANY framework change to support different functions.
OneX port was quite fine, but since telephony was rubbish and HTC made their own framework to support their own driver leaving out any support for other chipset, it is very hard to fix that one. except for that, i found the port quite stable except useless since phonecalls with GSM did not work

this is not related to a OneX port, it is just an app followed by a custom kernel to tweak performance, we got no kernel changes available (yet)

[Q] Android L?

Will our get Android lollipop through Cyanogenmod?
I doubt it as we can't even get the official KK bootloader which may or may not be required for Lollipop.
I tried Android L on my Nexus 4 and didn't really like the new interface.

Im actually quite content with my custom rom kitkat with the Gem Flat skin on top of it. (really quite stable just ui crash twice per week).
But then the unthinkable thing happens with one of the oldest moto droid devices went from ICS to Kitkat without any official updates due to alot of developers.

I guess its standard to question if we will see something BEFORE THE ACTUAL PUBLIC RELEASE HAPPENS AND BEFORE CYANOGENMOD, WHICH IS NOT MOTOROLA, GETS THEIR HANDS ON IT TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO ABOUT PUSHING IT OUT TO OUR DEVICES.
Btw, as far as that bootloader point goes, ask yourself this, do the older devices that got left behind on GB or ICS need updated bootloaders to run KK? B/c i can guarantee i can grab my Atrix 4G or my Droid X and see KK running on both of them with GB bootloaders.

Is this a signal?
I Think, yes.
Because, this night, someone did an Android L ROM For the HTC Evo 3D [POST]
I Remember, this phone has come to the world running GB, well, ROM Is still buggy, but see, that device more older than Atrix HD, I Don't know if that device has an ''updated'' bootloader [like bootloader for ICS or JB], But i think this would be a great news for this device.
I Already tried Lollipop on a Nexus 4 [Is the official update], an i really liked it. i think is better than KK, [ppl comming here and spammin' ''KK Is better'' in 3.... 2.... 1.....]
If HTC EVO 3D Has Lollipop, Our Atrix HD's can have Lollipop too :victory: , the only thing we need is hope, and a brave developer.
and please sorry about my bad english~ :silly:
Maybe.

our devices upgrade has to do with more than kernels I need to backport some ion commits to the new qcom branches lot of guess work to what is needed and what isn't. Basically have to make a custom qcom folder for jbbl. As for the kernel there are lots of ways to get this right but it will need lots of time and testing.
