I took these this morning after going to sleep with 100% battery. It looks like something's keeping my phone awake and I can't seem to figure out what it is - it hsould be spending a lot more time in deep sleep. To me, it looks like it's the wifi service, but isn't wifi supposed to be better for the battery than 3g/4g?
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks.

I lost 26% of my battery in around 6 hours last night while i was asleep. Never had such a problem. Didnt install any new softwares and Gsam showing that it was awake for only 8 minutes. Wakelock Detector also didnt show any unusual wakelocks. Have no idea what went wrong. Have a non rooted phone. Had my wifi on the whole night (but that is on every night when am at home). And even after restarting my phone, i was yet having the high drainage. I suppose that my phone is just not going into deep sleep for some reason.
Android System or HTC Sense taking a lot of battery usage? That's what I'm getting. 6-10 hours even on idle.

Google now is disabled.
I think the problem only seems to happen when i am on wifi. Not sure though.
WiFi does tend to drain a lot of battery. I recommend turning it off when you don't need it. Such as when you aren't near an WiFi access point or in this case are asleep.
So I've been having some issues lately with my battery life and I think I've found the cause. Its a wakelock called "Copsdaemon" in my battery stats. It uses over 60% of my battery as it keeps the CPU on for long periods of time. It also stops my phone from entering deep sleep. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there any fixes for it? What is this process and mainly how do I stop it? Cause it is super frustrating to have a battery life of about 10 hours with not much use at all. Thanks for any replies!

Hi, its to do with the 2G network. If your in a good network area set it to 3G then deepsleep will work. If you havnt got a good 3G signal then I don't know apart from a rom change

I'm getting a regular wakelock labeled msm_hsic_host. I thought this was related to the phone's radio, but I turned on airplane mode and the wakelock continues. Anyone know why?

You probably have a rogue app polling for a radio signal and putting it in airplane mode is making it worse.
The same wakelock doubled my battery drain last night. I had it in airplane mode overnight. Going to leave the signal on tonight and see what happens. I was getting between 3-7% but it was 15% last night.
Tested it again last night. Unplugged at 4pm yesterday and used 5% battery overnight. I just hit 24 hours with light/medium use today and battery is at 75%. I know others have shared this but battery life has certainly improved with time. The wakelock is certainly reduced leaving data connected overnight. Hope this helps.

How are you able to see wakelocks without root?

GSam battery monitor has an option at the bottom that looks like a vacuum. Its called app sucker. Once that screen opens there is a drop down menu at the top that allows you to see the kernel wakelocks. Then you can select each wakelock and the next screen has a button there to google it. Hope this helps.

It does! I'm used to better battery stats, and still learning gsam. Thanks!
Looks like it's a big problem for alot more phones. I have the same wake lock also. I get about 1% per hour by leaving it overnight. Is that normal?

I think it is. But alot depends on your settings and the strength of the cell connection. Actually the cell connection is about the biggest battery drain that I have. I use Tasker on my phone. It disconnects my cell connection when the screen times out and limits anything running in the background. Calls and texts still come through. When the screen wakes up everything reconnects. Some would say the settings I use are extreme but I get good battery life from it. Tasker can be difficult to start at first but there are some good youtube how-to videos. Im hoping the new battery saving feature in lollipop will make it unnecessary to regulate any settings. I guess we will see.

This. I use tasker to turn off data and auto sync when I go to sleep (because its literally a waste of battery) and I got 0% to 2% drainage overnight (total, not hourly) but that was with a custom rom. I expect 0.5% to less than 1% per hour with this phone because at idle with 4g on I drain about 1%/hr
I have a n920c with cambodian marshmallow flashed on it!
I have rooted it via cf autoroot and it works perfectly fine. It automatically roots and fixes deep sleep simultaneously!
The thing is, I have literally negligible standby battery drain when wifi is off. But if I keep it on, the standby drain rockets up to 4% an hour. I need to keep wifi on during sleep because I need to stay connected at all times on viber and whatsapp with family so I don't want to keep wifi off during sleep.
Is it normal to experience this much drain when wifi during standby is on ( ~4%/hr).
If somebody has a solution, please do help me out.
Because this means, if I'm doing my work when my phone sits beside me with wifi on (which i need) and I lose this much, I'm at a great loss.
Or is this normal with all note fives?
P.S. I keep everything greenified, location off, all battery saving things etc etc..
Would love it if anyone had a fix.
I have the 920C too on MM but not rooted.
I've got a bad battery drain overnight as well (around 20-25% per night).
Greenify and most bloatware disabled.
I'll try to turn wifi off tonight and see if anything changes.

Never been rooted; phone is barely 2 weeks old.
My battery life on lollipop wasn't any better either.
Then I think this is common with everyone.
Your Wi-Fi sucked the life out of your phone during the night.
Try it tonight without Wi-Fi and reply again with screenshots if possible buddy!

So I charged it to 100% right before I went to bed and switched wifi off.
I noticed a lower battery drain overnight when wifi is off; you were right.
Screenshots attached.
What firmware are you on? Did you do a factory reset prior to installing the update?
Do you have other mods installed? Or apps that might be requesting constant data connection?

What I find extremely curious is that if I constantly use my phone throughout the day, I get great battery life. As in I come home after 8 and a half hours with only 30% battery loss; which is amazing.
Note that by "constantly use" I mean heavy usage where I browse the internet, check email, edit documents, compulsively check social media including snapchat and the like with constant texting, but without gaming or long periods of video playback.
I'm starting to think if I keep an app running and keep my screen on but dimmed to the max all night long, I might get less battery drain
Is this on wifi or network? Wifi kills my phone battery at home eve ln it's not being used.
Yesterday I installed juice defender and I have 20% more charge remains than previously with a typical day use for me. It turns wifi off and hibernates when I press home key on the home screen (gestures in Nova settings). Seems to be helping no end - +20% battery by end of a typical day. This is in addition to package disabler and Greenify, and auto wifi off when I leave home using IFTTT, as well as optimised apps. Try it.
Hello guys, i need help with my P20pro. After factory reset my phone never goes to sleep and network signal graph looks wierd, like airplane mode most of time. Can't find what's draining battery but SOT is terrible now, and that was the reason why I reset the phone but now is much worse. Before reset i used to get 5h SOT at best but now you can see for yourself. Any advice will be appreciated.
Found what's keeping awake phone... My fingerprint sensor is not working and don't have any settings for it in menu, dissapeared but kernel is trying to wake up sensor i guess and phone never goes to sleep.... Is there any solution to disable sensor completely from system? ADB commands or any other way?
