My SIII Mini (NFC version) originally runs stock rooted I8190NXXALL6, and its the 3IE region.
I flashed Maclaw's PAC rom (20131002) and have no mobile signal. Everything else on the rom functions perfect.
I tried use the service menu to change network type (or even turn on and off radio) but it wouldn't do anything.
I've also restored back to a (fully working) TWRP backup of my stock, and with dd, ripped both modem.bin (mmcblk0p16) and modemfs.img (mmcblk0p12), reflashed to PAC and flashed those back to the blocks, with no luck.
I'd check baseband and csc in the PAC rom but the hidden menu codes i know for checking don't work (*#1234# and *#12580*369# work on stock rom) and i'm running out of ideas.
Anyone out there had (and fixed) this issue before? Suggestions?

I checked them, they're exactly the same as the working stock rom. The PAC rom can't even scan for a network, it just complains that it was unsuccessful. Maybe a baseband problem?
I have the same trouble on 3uk with all of maclaw and olivers roms. Oliver has the same problem and nobody can fix it Oliver has mentioned another rom in original development forum but don't know if that will help

What baseband is your I8190N? Maybe we could make a list of the dodgy firmwares or Maclaw and Oliver roms in case someone wants to try fix this?

Hi,
I'm from Malaysia. I flashed the Australian stock ROM (2.3.6 XWJW6) yesterday because I had problem flashing Malaysian's ROM DXJV9.
Everything seems fine but I couldn't get data connection and GPS to work, is this due to the modem problem? can someone suggest me where to get a different modem and is it straight forward to flash through ODIN?
thanks!

Hi guys
Yesterday I was able to flash SentinelROM successfully
I was very happy until when I went out and disconnected from my wifi, I realized that there was no internet connection
Tried to restore APN settings to default, but to no avail
Took out the simcard and put into my iphone, data was fine
So I reflash stock ROM, data worked
Reflash Sentinel, data didn't work
Flashed CM10.1, data also didn't work, although APN settings have been restored to default
Phone and sms worked though..
So now I'm stuck with stock
Could anybody please help?
Just so you know, I'm on O2 UK
Many thanks

I did some reading
The stock firmware which I'm using on my phone has these details (it's Germany - DBT):
PDA: I9305XXBME3
CSC: I9305DBTBMF1
MODEM: I9305XXBME1
which is the same as describe in sammobile.com (the latest)
As I'm in UK and using O2, according to sammobile.com, the details for the latest firmware (O2U):
PDA: I9305XXBMA3
CSC: I9305O2UBMA1
MODEM: I9305XXBLL5
Should I just flash the modem XXBLL5 onto my phone?
Or should I flash I9305XXBMA3_I9305O2UBMA1_O2U.zip stock firmware?
Please advise
Try these
CSC: I9305O2UBMA1
MODEM: I9305XXBLL5

I'll try that and we'll see :good:
I have downloaded the modem file, i.e. XXBLL5.zip, but I can't find that specific CSC file for I9305 although I've done a lot of research..
So I flashed anyway the I9305XXBMA3_I9305O2UBMA1_O2U.zip stock firmware, but no internet at all although with this stock ROM..so I imagine it won't work on Sentinel as well..
I have a similar issue but nothing apart from flashing CM10.1 works
So far tried about 6 different ROMs, all built for i9305 and ALL have no data connection but wifi works faultless. Reflash CM10.1 and I get my data connection back. Which is a pain as I really liked Pandorium with Perseus kernel and JKay framework so I can tweak away
Did a factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik between all flashing. All ROMs install and run perfectly on wifi, just no data connection. Reflash CM10.1 ...... again. And all my problems go away. On T-Mobile/EE/Orange in UK
It appears, after much reading, it could be linked to an incorrect CSC (Country Code). So you might have to flash the CSC code for your specific Country AND mobile carrier
No data connection error is due to the modem is set-up for a different country and mobile carrier, so obviously it can't connect to what it can't find .....
Now I'm just trying to get my head around CSC flashing and tracking down methods that don't NEED a Samsung firmware
CSC is the customer setup configuration .
Network settings for different networks .
See the CSC post .
jje
I just don't understand..why does it work with stock ROM..but not with Sentinel and CM10.1?
I mean..we do not change the CSC and modem after flashing those custom ROMs, do we?
There are lists of modems and CSCs here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26530885#post26530885
I am eager to test them, but I fear those CSCs and modems are for I9300, which would brick my I9305. Please advise

I have done the following:
1. changed CSC to BTU and modem to XXBLL5 - mobile internet worked with stock ROM, but didn't work with Sentinel ROM
2. changed CSC to O2U and modem to XXBLL5 - mobile internet worked with stock ROM, but didn't work with Sentinel ROM
FYI, I'm on O2 UK (pay monthly/post pay),
~ edit APN and/or reset APN to default settings - nothing happened - mobile internet didn't work on both CSC and modem configs
HOWEVER, when I inserted an O2 prepaid/pay as you go sim card,
~ reset APN to default settings - mobile internet worked!!
Reinsert the O2 pay monthly sim, internet won't work ~ reset APN - still didn't want to work..
What more can I do...
I've tried all possible modems...none of them worked..

Yup..
I've tried 3 different AOSP ROMs...the internet just didn't wanna work..
For now I have to settle with stock based ROMs..
I couldnĀ“t get mobile data connection in my i9300 with this rom. I tried a new APN profile with the appropiate settings and information and my mobile data began working. Hope it helps.
Hi there,
Mind helping me anyone? I ended up having unknown Baseband and IMEI null during failed lollipop upgrade. I tried flashing back to original stock rom both kitkat and lollipop via ODIN but I still got same issues. I ended up rooting the phone and currently running twrp. I'm just at lost right now on what else to do. I tried the EFS Wipe via sideload that didn't work either. There seems to be a lot of people experiencing this. The phone boots up fine except Unknown baseband and IME null and I'm not getting any network connections.
I'm thinking of putting custom ROM but I"m not sure with one will work. I have SM-N900W8 Canadian version Telus
Please help.

He does say it's " There is no baseband in this ROM. So its compatible with any carrier. Make sure u put ur APN in ur network settings." Seen nothing about IMEI. Post 105 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53697925&postcount=105

It would be up to you to try. Me, I would try. This is from Sammobile site for your phone http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/45029/N900W8VLU2DOC4_N900W8OYADOC4_TLS/ Stock odin file.
After flashing 610M (csc: TPA) the phone shows "No sim - No service", even tough in sim card management it's there but no carrier is shown.
I tired:
1. IMEIs were there, but I still tried to restore EFS
2. Tried both sim card slots (the second one can at least receive messages, rather weird thing)
3. I tried to flash CP and CSC trough Odin after installation
4. CSC Changers do not work: errors
5. Tried to install similar ROMS: ResurectionRemix, AospExtended and crDroid... same problem over and over
6. Tried flashing latest Oxygen kernel v.5 - no luck
7. Tried installing without GAPPS - no change
8. Tried flashing latest modem from 8.1 official - nothing
Please, help me good people, I'm out of ideas. Currently using Millennium ROM, everything works. No possibility to buy a new phone, but I miss the simplicity and snappiness of AOSP roms. Thank you.
EDIT1:
I found out that even after flashing CSC in Odin. PhoneInfo app shows that there's not CSC or CSC firmware at all. Attached screenshot.
Have you tried checking if your IMEI numbers are blocked in your country?. Could be blacklisted by an operator.
From which state you are probably problem in restricting the device

Weird, I have the same model as you and I've flashed a few AOSP roms (Havoc OS, DotOS) and no problems with my signal.
Well, if it works in TW, then it could be the radio firmware in the AOSP roms that is causing the problem with your signal. Im not sure how you can flash the radio firmware once you are in an AOSP rom, but you could try making a backup of the radio related partitions with the Millenium ROM installed and then try to flash the backups once you flash an AOSP rom.
Make a full backup just in case something goes wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I did try to restore EFS and Modem partitions after flashing DotOS, but no luck. I looked at the *#*#4636#*#* menu; and there's a signal (decibels change). It's like it doesn't read SIM cards (I've tried another one with different carrier).
Hi, the device in question was stuck in a boot loop and to remedy this i flashed what i thought to be the correct stock rom. Once booted there is a no network connection message and selecting either network operator option shows an error. I have tried multiple firmwares from frija and all have the same issue.
The device is vodafone Ireland which i understand to have the csc VDI which i could not find the firmware for and so far i have flashed with:
a715fxxu1ata7ovf (OVF)
SM-A715F_1_20210118192134_266igcbq71_fac (3IE)
SM-A715F_1_20201119163504_ray32ge5xc_fac (XEU)
SM-A715F_1_20210118192034_dsfkrkwb0t_fac (OVF)
Attached are the the output of *#1234# and *#0011#*
If someone has a vodafone ireland a71 could they post the output of *#1234# so i can see the current correct AP, CP and CSC, point me to the correct firmware, or give any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You speak like you didn't flash the correct ROM. Did you try flashing ROM from this site?
I'm sure you will find the correct ROM there.
I think either this or this should work.
There's a chance you corrupted the EFS, can you check if your device has an IMEI?
If it doesn't then you unfortunately have a corrupted EFS folder and you need to flash your stock ROM.
If it does then you can check the APN and other cellular data settings if it's set or not.
