Stamina Mode not disabling Wifi? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So turned on stamina and have no apps in the exception list, it does not appear to be turning off my data nor my wifi when the screen is off? Also I often get an error Photo Analyzer has stopped working when i turn on the phone. How do i fix these issues? I am on newest stock firmware and am rooted.

Wifi and data is Just completly sleeped. Wifi dont drain battery when screen is locked +1 minute. Sorry for bad English.

Yes after a minute of screen off they are prevented from downloading/uploading data, which is the thing that drains battery, maintaining the connection means you typically get to use the internet immediate when you activate the phone again (no logging on etc.)
Why individual apps cause an error message isn’t really answerable – it happens from time to time, sometimes the app’s developers have made a mistake with an update, sometimes if you restore an app from a back up it doesn’t install properly, there are many other reasons too. Try clearing the data in the app, try re-installing it, try clearing the cache and the dalvik cache, try fixing permissions.
I’ve found clearing the data works the most often, not always – I usually get app errors like this after installing a mod/rom.

[Q] Wifi most of the time cannot start (not displaying list), restart sometimes helps

Hi!
Since last 2 weeks I'm suddenly experiencing weird problem without making any changes in the phone.
The problem:
When enabling wifi it freezes in wifi settings page (whole Settings app is freezing and needs restart). Not displaying list, just "enabling wifi..." message and app freezes in that moment. Waiting very long dosen't help. Phone is draining battery incredibly fast in that condition.
1. Switching Wifi On/Off - works.
2. when starting the phone - sometimes wifi starts and works,
3. when loosing wifi signal of connected network (going from place to place) - always wifi freezes and stopps to work.
I've done factory reset, cache format, I'm using CM 10.2-201312221-NIGHTLY now and before I've used stable cm-10.1.3. No difference. Is there a way I can solve or debug the issue?
Thank you very much for help!

[Q] Problems with whatsapp on z3c

Hi guys,
Has anyone had any problems with whatsapp on our phone? The app seems to get killed somehow when the phone goes to sleep, so I don't receive any messages until I open it up. I've not got any powersaver modes running and background data is allowed etc etc, it's getting very annoying and i'm sure the phone is killing a background process but can't work out how to fix it.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers
I had a similar issue with hangouts but I cleared cache and data and it worked again. maybe give this a shot for whatsapp
Sent from my D5803
No problem at all.
I use stamina mode all the time, excluding Gmail, Whatsapp, Timely and Cerberus, and I receive emails and messages.
My firmware version is 23.0.A.2.98
I have stamina mode activated all the time but whatsapp works great
Thanks for your replies, i don't what the problem is. The same thing happens if i am in stamina mode (with the app whitelisted) or not in stamina mode.
I have tried re-installing, clearing cache and data etc but the problem perists. I guess i will have to ask the app developers, presumably they will blame the phone

When you notice it start happening, check the "running apps" in settings. Do most of them show "restarting" etc? I think I have the same issue. It looks like a memory leak on my side.
I've seen similar to this but I think it might also be related to when other people have a connection. My wife has issues with her work wifi and sometimes I only get her messages once she's back on our home network. I see the time stamp in whatsapp as the time she originally wrote the message...
Thanks - will check that next time i see it happening, it doesn't look like it has restarted recently but possibly was "pausing". I've restarted my phone now so all processes are on the same clock so i can spot any breaks easier next time

Cheers but seems not likely as messages from multiple contacts appear at the same time when i open the app, so the problem must be on my end
Quick update, i've had the problem happen again and checked the running apps, there was no pause happening. Even this morning on the train i was looking at the internet, so my phone was connected to data and obviously not asleep and i got no messages. Later on, i opened the app and a message appeared, sent at the time i was looking at the internet. I'm flummoxed. Will raise a support call and update if i have any luck

[Q] WIFI is dead after 'crash'

I have a serious problem with my Galaxy Note. All of a sudden Wifi is not working anymore (cannot be turned on anymore at all). Any ideas as how to get it fixed?
Background: I was playing a online game, put the device on the table (waiting for a timed task to finish). About 5 Minutes later I was picking it up again and noticed that the phone was shut off. Turned it on again and noticed that WIFI was greyed out. Other bugs noticed: The game data was wiped and all device administrators have been unselected (I use a tool that needs device administrator privileges to turn on the phone by swiping over the motion sensor). I don't know if WIFI was turned on or off at the time of crash. Anyhow - seems like some files that were in use (or recently in use) were deleted/corrupted. Probably including some WIFI components.
Stuff tried already: Turning Flight mode on/off. Rebooting Phone. Removing Battery. Various service codes found on the net like *#232339#, *#526# and *#528# all which do noting (do not open anything; seem to be invalid).
Phone is running on Stock Android 4.1.2, it is NOT rooted.
Any advices how to fix the problem (I'd really really really like to keep my app data, so factory reset is something I'd like to avoid). Found a tool called "fxr wifi fix and rescue" but dunno if it would be aplicable in this case or if it could make things even worse. Anything else? Any log files that can be checked? Anything to determine if this is hardware or software related?
Thanks for any help....

Severe Overnight Battery Drain (100>0)

Hey all,
I just woke up late today without my alarm going off to realize my phone had went from 100% at 10PM to 0% by 8AM. I've read through a few different threads on overnight battery loss, and determined that the big recommendation is to clear the cache partition. I wanted to ask if you guys have any other major recommendations based on my screenshots and info below, because I'm really tired of having this happen. Thanks!
My settings:
-Wifi, Data, Location are always kept on (Wifi connected to a network)
-HD Calling is on
-Most/all bloatware is disabled
-I use the Edge Clock at night
First pic is from last night, the others are from other nights.
Try turning off location and bluetooth and wifi. It should solve your battery problem. I lose about 3% overnight by disabling things during sleep.
I don't think that would explain the other 97% of my problem. Here's another screen shot
Whats your app usage look like?
Also, if you haven't already make sure to wipe cache. It's always the first step to try to fix issues.
Try this too:
1) Turn off all of the advanced calling features
2) Turn off phone
3) Hold volume up, home button, power button until it boots into recovery
4) Wipe cache partition
5) Reboot
6) Re-enable the advanced calling features.
Ditto. Show us your detailed app usage screenshot
I misspoke in the first post, I don't keep Bluetooth on during the day or at night.

Here's where I'm at today (turned off Wi-Fi mid-morning, which has helped a bit it seems) with detail of the app usage. zimgir, I did a cache wipe last week without any noticeable results, but I did not turn off advanced calling before doing that, so I'll give that a shot now and see how it goes.
Make sure to go to advanced wifi settings and disable search for signal during sleep. Even though you turn off wifi, this setting usually persists.
This is my wifi setup, I disallow any automatic scanning.
(It's the fifth item down.)
Also can you show us the details of your Android processes? It's very odd that it's using so much of your battery. I've only had that sort of usage when I encrypted my phone. I don't do that anymore since Samsung Pay won't work with encryption.
I've gotta ask, did any of the steps help you out?

It doesn't seem so, my app usage is still very high. I'll post pics of the Android System process details later today.

Note 9 Att Issues - Messages app and location accuracy

Looking for some help on two issues.
1. Att Samsung stock messages app shows u read count 11 when I get 1 message and 12 when I get 2 messages etc. Called att and did clear cache, clear data, toggle advanced messages on off. They recommended dumping the system cache but I cant get past the boot download screen on the phone to do so. I have also done a factory reset with no luck.
2. Google location accuracy pop up keeps coming up. I toggle my location on an off and the agree disagree to improve location services Google pop up comes up over and over again for apps, wifi calling, etc. If I hit agree it changes the phone into high accuracy mode with wifi bluetooth and location. If I disagree makes phone only location method. It seems to never stick when I hit agree. It like each time I turn off the location and turn it back on it forgets what I chose the time before.
Any help would be appreciated. I love this phone but these issues are driving me crazy.
