Hi I need help please, My xperia is Rooted and I flashed for the small navigation buttons,
They disappeared, Fortunately Backup was made.
But cannot get into recovery to do backup.
I get: "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" and I cannot do anything but switch the phone on and off.
Very frustrated and scared I broke the thing.

do a reset?
You don't need to boot the phone up fully to get into recovery.
Just press whichever volume key is applicable when your phone is starting up to boot into recovery, then restore your backup.
Unless I'm missing something obvious. :what:

Restarting the phone just brings me back to the same error, and cannot log in to recovery from boot.
Tried holding in the up volume key during boot, the light flashes green, then off. then continues to boot as normal.
Assuming you actually flashed a custom recovery, you do not hold the volume key. You press it when the LED flashes green.
If you definitely cannot enter recovery, then try flashing a stock rom with Flashtool.
Download a stock FTF from the general section and follow this guide - How to flash stock roms with Flashtool
You will not lose your data if you follow the guide correctly.

A quick one for you too...
I had similar issue. When the phone has booted although you can't see anything, you can still hard press the home button, push up and open Google now. From there you can access xz recovery, if you have it installed? You can then choose to boot into recovery....
If not installed you can open play store from Google now, install xz recovery and do the above. You can then recover your backup.
Xperia Z
Unfortunately System UI has stopped working!!!!
I had rooted my phone and installed cwm on it to install monster rom but when i was installing monster rom it showed that installation aborted and after this when i rebooted my device its not starting, no home screens, no icons, no status bar, only black screen and lock menu....
plz help me as soon as possible i m in great trouble..
i didnt even took a backup
my phone is Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8262
Any help would be appreciated

Also, sorry but I have no idea how to flash something. How do I do it? And it doesn't even go past it.
I should spend on time in this sub-forum.
If you have flash a custom ROM then just reflash it or try another ROM.
It's highly, highly unlikely that your phone it breaked so don't worry about.
I have never flashed a custom rom. I don't even know how to flash in the first place.
turn off hp.try to hold up-dpad(towards screen) button and switch on your milestone.
then you see black screen written Bootloader.
battery OK.
OK to program
connect USB
data cable.
if you can go into this screen, then u can start to learn to flash vulnerable recovery.
and ready to install custom room.
google around on how to instal vulnerable recovery for milestone .

My site is down atm, but this may help;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932196
shut down phone ->hold down hard keyboard x key and power button->when M logo appears release power button but keep pressing x key until recovery mode shows up
there is an option for clearing data/factory reset
you'll loose everything but it propably fix the problem

Hey y'all.
Please help me. My P990 is stuck right after the LG logo on bootup.
First of all, this is what ive done:
1. Rooting the phone - succesful
2. Following the guide to install CyanogenMod 7.1.0 (stable) ROM - succesfull
- Nandroid backup
- Wipe all data + cache
- Can't remember it all really lol, but i had cyanogenmod working succesfully!
3. I wanted "voodoo sound", therefor i was told i had to flash a new kernel, which was working to cyanogenmod - thats why i chosed this kernel: vorkKernel-OC/UV Kernel for CM[20111105] which can be found here on xda, sorry i cant link yet - so what i did was downloading the .apk file, and in there, i could choose some things to get with it, and then download the .zip to flash from recovery mode. So i downloaded, flashed it from Clockworkmod recovery and it finished succesfully. So i rebooted my phone, it came with the "LG", then the logo (without animation) and then just black screen.
I feel like i cant do anything. As always when i try to open recoverymode (power + vol. down) it comes with: "S/W Update" (while flashing and nandroid backuping ive used ROM Manager's function "Boot to recovery".)
Ive tried to press any buttons.
Ive tried to plug my phone to the computer, no effekt.
Im really lost! Please help me
Thanks.

Sounds like a boot loop. Check filesystem compatibility of the kernel you flashed. Might not be compatible with the one previously used by CM.
you should wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache if you want to flash the kernel. and in order to get work your phone again, you should nvflash cause your phone can't do anything
You're trying to enter recovery wrong. Hold both power and vol- for around 10secs. If you're getting S/W Update, you're only holding volume down.
vokkernal, how to make it work?
Hi, even I tried that, I got the same error... Can anyone suggest a way to make it work, or if any step is missing?
By the way, I used the latest Version on Cynogenmod (stable) (update-cm-7.1.0-Optimus2X-signed.zip), vokkernal app.
Thanks
Very sorry for slow answer!
Anyone can link a guide for a working NVFlash ? ive tried but it comes up with an "uid read fail" ind the cmd box, after the "Nvflash started" ???

hmm, I had the same problem trying to enter recovery, You have to press vol down and then power. If you do it at the same time sometimes doesnt work. So try pressing it before power and keep them pressed until you see the LG Logo (but the one with a bit of blue light) then you can't unpress them.
Download smartflash and download stock rom along with baseband and flash it using smartflash by pulling out battery from phone press volumedown and insert usb cable and soon check procedure in xda forum.i garuntee you it will work as i faced same issue

Hey everyone, I installed recovery on my phone and it worked fine but after doing so I tried to install a ROM. This ended up with my phone being bricked and so I flashed the original FTF file and now it works fine again. I rooted the phone after this and installed recovery and it said it installed properly with no errors. I then tried to boot my phone in to recovery by pressing either volume key when the green led shows up with the sony splash screen but nothing happens. I've tried it loads of times using both up and down volume keys but it does not go to recovery anymore. Any help?

sorry but what recovery are you using
TWRP/CWM I've tried both of them neither of them boot up the phone just boots up as normal even if I press the volume keys. I've installed the CWM for locked bootloader now though and it still wont work, that being the case my phone is a locked bootloader.
what device are you using and which recovery?
i rmb ZL has issues with CWM recovery like this.
Z, havent encounter any yet.
If you cant boot into recovery then try installing it again.

have you got superuser/super su installed and working ? when flashing recovery supersu asks for ADB approval
Well it would be an Xperia Z being in this category of the forum? But Ive tried re-installing and removing completely and installing again. Each time it seems to install correctly but even if the green led comes on at start up it wont boot in to the recovery mode
I even tried using XZRecovery to install it on the phone itself but that didnt let me boot in either

Okay try installing this one dont know of anyone which this hasnt work for, before go into supersu and look at app's, has ADB got a green or red hash
I tried that one before and it didn't work. Just checked my superuser and it seems it doesn't even have ADB listed, just some rooted apps I've used. I tried setting it to always allow in preferences but that didn't change anything.

do this
1-flash "another" ftf file
2-repair it with sony update service
3-go to settings > backup and reset > factory data reset (internal wipe)
4-root
5-install CWM
do not try to restore your previous rom or whatever. especially when youre jumping from one rom to another.
Start fresh.
This will probably work but I used the unbranded ftf file on a clean install so im not sure how much differentit'll be

I tried to do this but when I connect my phone to a pc nothing comes up, no pop-up, nothing on the phone, it doesnt even charge. It does charge however when I put it in a plug socket.. I think this could have something to do with it in the first place, my problem still isnt resolved what else can I do?
Are you stuck at step 1?
Try the newest flashtool (I think people are having issues with it, but worth a try) or the v4 flashtool.
And try another ftf file, don't use the same one that you used, or trying to use.
Hi Guys,
Ive got a rooted (Easy Rooting Toolkit) Xperia Z 4.2.2 Stock firmware. After deinstalling some Apps I restarted my phone, and now it stucks at the waves animation right after the Xperia logo. I have TWRP (XZrecovery) installed and got backups but I cant find a way to boot into that recovery without using the app.
Is there any way to get my phone back working? Is there any shortcut starting TWRP without using the app?
Help would be much appreciated..

Push volume up while booting should boot you into recovery.
You can also use Sony Update Service to restore your phone.
Use flashtool to flash stock firmware .

For anyone with a similar problem:
my phone suddenly started again, but without the homescreen, i had a black screen and the soft keys.
I was able to start the small app browser. Then i navigated to google play and opened Titanium Backup via Google Play Store.
Then I was able to recover the Apps Ive deleted. After that I had my home screen back and was able to boot into recovery via XZRecovery. Then I restored my backup and phone is fine now.
Thanks for your replies. This Thread may be closed.
can you tell me does it work while you were trying to power it on or it was suddenly turned on because I have the same problem and I can't do factory rest via Sony companion :'( please help
Hi guys, I need help please!
I am using Samsung Note 3 SM-N9005 ARMv7 Lollipop 5.0. Rooted it with Kingoroot. "installed" TWRP through Flashify.
I downloaded Xposed Framework xposed-v86-sdk21-arm.zip onto my phone and installed it through TWRP in Flashify. Everything seemed fine, got the message install successful, I selected "reboot" instead of "clear cache/dalvik". Phone went into reboot...Samsung Note 3...Samsung logo...and stuck there. I understand that it takes some time for first boot, and I waited, but almost an hour and its still showing the same screen. So I tried to power off the phone, but it restarted again and stuck in the same logo screen. I tried to go into recovery mode hoping to get TWRP to do a reset or something, but no TWRP! Was only given option of "volume up - continue(to odin mode)" and "volume down - cancel(restart phone)". No option for factory reset either. So i booted odin, and tried to flash openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.7-hlte.img.tar, got the messaged passed, phone rebooted and again stuck in Samsung logo. Tried recovery mode and still no TWRP! Please help!!:crying: :crying: :crying:
p.s. phone won't power off, only way to do it is to remove the battery.
Samsung phones stock ROMs need an special version of Xposed framework. Geez, it is on the official thread:
Known issues:
- Bootloops on Samsung stock ROMs. That's due to Samsung's changes to ART. There are unofficial builds that work around this by deodexing and adjusting the ROM.

When you flash TWRP, you have to have reset unchecked in Odin, when the flash finishes you pull the battery and then boot into recovery via button combo. If you don't do that TWRP doesn't stick. From there flash the Xposed uninstaller so you can boot properly.

I tried it, unchecked "reboot", flashed TWRP, power off. When I tried button combo, I can't boot into recovery. It either keep giving me the restarting loop (power on, samsung note 3..then power off, and on again..) or if i let go of the power button at note 3, it goes to the samsung logo and stuck there.
update: I kept trying, and finally got a little different response. I pressed volume up + home + power buttons, and got 3 small lines of colorful words...
Recovery booting
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set warranty bit : recovery
and then the phone turns off and start again
Tried different combinations, so far only the volume up sequence showed something a little different.

That is ok, you get that when you have modified system/recovery. Means your are not fully stock. If you had full stock unrooted unmodified system and recovery that goes away, nothing to worry about. If you are still having problems follow these step exactly:
1) Pull battery out of phone then put it back in
2) boot to download mode (power+home+volume down)
3) open Odin on computer (run as admin)
4) plug phone into computer
5) Uncheck a. Reboot and f. Reset time in Odin
6) flash TWRP (TWRP.img file goes in AP)
7) after successful flash unplug phone and pull battery
8) put battery back in and boot directly to recovery (power+home+volume up)
If you let it boot normally without going into TWRP first, it does not stick

Ok, now that TWRP is on there things should be easier. You are on Stock ROM, it is TouchWiz. You will need to flash a custom ROM that is deodexed. If you like the stock look, feel, and options look in the threads for your device for a stock deodexed ROM. Or you can flash CM. Depending on what version of Android you decide to run will dictate which version of Xposed you install.
