Hey all! I have (had) a rooted HTC one.
In an attempt to install an Android 4.3 ROM, I've got my phone in 1 of 2 stages.
I have TWRP
When I tried to download the 4.3 ROM and reboot, it takes me back to the bootloader screen. If i try reboot, it continuity takes me back to this screen.
If i go to recovery, and attempt to wipe & backup, it says successful, however, upon a reboot, it goes through the motions, but android nor apps never loads and in about 20 seconds, the phone restarts and continues this process over and over again..
Can anyone help me just get my phone back please?
I feel like somethings just missing or do i need to factory reset?

i used the one on htconeroot
which since you've said that, i noticed i misread the directions thinking it'd work for my phone because it was rooted. so i guess not.

Jaywill I did the exact same thing as you did, followed the wrong root guide to upgrade 4.3 on htconeroot. I too get booted into the bootloader screen consistently and after a factory reset/recovery it's stuck in a bootloop.

It took me 8 hours last night to fix it, I eventually had to resort to relocking my bootloader and install the 1.29 RUU. Phone seems to work fine now.

I did lose everything on my phone. I didn't had much on it though since I've only had the phone for two weeks.
The course of action is this:
First connect phone to your computer and get ADB going (hopefully you had USB debugging on)
Then follow this guide to get S-OFF and relock bootloader, make sure you booted into recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44243635
Then download RUU from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250904
and install on your PC.

that's the part i don't get is where do i find/access the adb?
First off I'm assuming you have the android SDK installed on your PC since you have rooted phones before.
You probably need a driver for your PC to recognize the phone. The one I used is this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263822
But you can also download and install the HTC Sync
Once your PC recognizes your phone and you are booted into recovery you can push ADB and fastboot commands to your phone.

Make sure you are in the boot loader when running ruu and you have all the proper HTC drivers. If that's not it you can try searching Google for the error.
Dude. Just boot into recovery then on phone press mount usb. On your computer in your drives you should see your phones memory. Download a rom from the sprint htc one. Use this. http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22962010882834713 Once downloaded drag zip to storage. Once done press unmount usb. Then on recovery press install from storage. Click on your rom zip. Let it install. Reboot your htc one. Your good. You should have no more issues.

Fyi, because I see it misused a lot, "Bricking" man's it won't even power on, be recognized by any device, etc. If it just won't go into its ROM then that isn't a brick.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Mine fits the description of bricked better... All stock, no root, just using it as a GPS, left it plugged into the car charger when I went into the store but turned the screen off (that thing gets HOT). When I came back, no led, no power, nothing. Have tried connecting to the wall charger that came with it, to USB 2 and 3 on computers, left it charging all night. Not so much as a flicker... The computers didn't recognize anything connecting to them either.
Long hold of power (with and without either/both volume buttons) has done nothing.
What is left to try? I would rather not lose all the pictures from my vacation, but need my phone back for work.

The URL from which my phone downloaded the zip file was
Code:
http://fotadl.htc.com//secure/OTA_DLXPLUS_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_HK_1.23.708.3-1.11.708.1_release_33417443z3iqny0zggdtbr.zip/surl:kid=25,et=1380040924,h=694B5DE0FC46CD0CD069E539232CF864
That would mean it was released by HTC directly.
Anyway, there's no way a telco could push out an OTA for the Butterfly S as to the best of my knowledge, there's no branded version of the phone.
4.3 is being pushed out to the HTC ONE. Hopefully we will b seeing it soon as well.

Actually I have a problem with the new update,
Installed it today (901s) by OTA and now my phone just resets every now and then,
already 4 times by now
I think the update just wasn't installed properly, because after reset I get a message that my device was updated..
the problem is that I don't know and don't think it's possible to re-install the update without unlocking the bootloader,
in the meanwhile i'm just hoping 4.3 will roll out soon so the problem will be solved
if anyone knows what to do i'll be really thankful!
edit:
just noticed notes update is gone after a reset, had to install again, so it really makes sense that the device is stuck on the update install

Thats the worst part of it- I can't perform a factory reset.
tried through the settings, than a hard reset through HBOOT, even got into recovery without root by this method:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K0zdRPwJ0g
But nothing seem to work. I get the Boot animation, a black screen, if i'm doing it through the settings or the hboot I get a screen of red triangle with exclemtaion mark(that indicates I don't have root), and then, device just starts up again.
This is really weird, I never saw something like that, and I have no idea what to do.
install custom recovery and reset from there?
if your bootloader is unlocked ofcourse and dont forget to put the stock recovery back afterwards
If you don't want to unlock your bootloader, you can try fastboot boot custom-recovery.img to boot TWRP or CWM without flashing, although I'm not sure that will work. Still, worth a shot.

I don't want to do anything that can void the warranty, since if i'll need to send it for repair back to Hong Kong it'll cause problems and very expensive fees for the repair.

Exactly as I wrote. Download either CWM or TWRP and try to boot them via fastboot. Boot, not flash. You'll need to reboot into the bootloader (hold the volume down button while the phone is booting up) and type the following command (assuming the file you downloaded is recovery.img):
fastboot boot recovery.img
It's possible it won't do anything or that it will just boot the regular system, but if it does succeed, it won't flash anything, just boot into the custom recovery. Then you can perform a factory reset or reinstall the stock ROM from a ZIP.

I recommend googling a tutorial on how to set up adb and fastboot. The general steps are to download the Android SDK which contains both tools, extract it somewhere, add the location to your $PATH, then download the recovery image, save it somewhere, navigate to that directory within your commandline, connect your phone via USB, reboot it into bootloader (either by rebooting it and holding volume down or by typing adb reboot-bootloader) and then type the following command (substitute recovery.img with the actual recovery image file name):
fastboot boot recovery.img

I have a Verizon HTC One HBOOT 1.54 with S-OFF Unlocked boot loader and SUID but every rom i try boot loops at start screen only thing i can do is restore backup os. I did do full wipe every time. Driving me crazy i want to install Android Revolution HD 22.0 but no go. Also tryed 4.0 and insert coin all boot loop and never load.
Is it the firmware? Verizon is still on 4.2.2 and those roms are 4.3.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using xda app-developers app
You can NOT flash GSM roms. You need to flash Verizon specific roms. And if your device is anything like a Sprint One, flashing a GSM Rom probably messed some stuff up. If it did you'll need to RUU, that is if Verizon has an RUU.

I was trying to remove force encryption in my nexus 6 using wugfresh's toolkit from stock 5.0.0 with only fk kernel installed, everything seemed to complete successfully but when my phone booted up it just shows the TWRP splash over and over... I tried flashing stock kernel. Reflashing Twrp..nothing worked.. Kinda freaking out, please ...any suggestions?

Try flashing stock recovery, then see if you can boot. If so, then flash TWRP.
I've had the same thing happen and I believe that solved it for me.

I tried that... Didn't work.. Still showing the twrp screen over and over, do you think flashing a factory image will work?

You flashed the stock recovery via fastboot? If so, TWRP should no longer be there.

Factory Image should work, but I'd think that it would be the stock recovery flash portion of it that fixes it. Try it, I hope it works for you.

Could be. If it had flashed stock recovery, you would no longer see the blinking TWRP screen. I don't use toolkits, so I can't direct you. I'd learn how to use fastboot.

No problem. Good to hear it worked for you.
These posts are happening way more often lately. Toolkits have been causing many errors as of late. I hope all newbies consider this a warning. Just learn how to easily flash via fastboot.

Agree. When I first got my Nexus 6 the same thing happened to me. The toolkits did not help at all. I looked on YouTube and found a video that showed the steps to flash images via fastboot and that solved it.
This is just my opinion, but noobs really should stay away from toolkits. They are nice for automating things, but for a noob, if something goes wrong , they have little idea of how to fix what may have happened. People really should learn how to do these things on their own and use toolkits only when they have the knowledge to at least get pointed in the right direction when they do go haywire..... And the right direction is not starting a new thread on a forum saying "I used "X" toolkit now my phone don't boot, please help".......
