Loki in the work? - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know of anyone in the works to bypass the locked bootloader?

DesignGears is working on it. As you can see from his twitter post when he finished making root for our phones.
DesignGears - "The @att Galaxy Note 3 is fully rooted now. @att_Mobility bootloader is next, jerks."

I don't think many people are going to try and look for a new root method. Its been stated a thousand times on here how to RETAIN root. If you didn't follow those directions then you're not gonna find much sympathy.
BTW, is there a way to go back to ICS from JB 2nd leak ?
I have root if that matters.

Not particularly looking for sympathy. Mistakes happen...IF one is found, GREAT if not then ohh well. I wish i was a bit more savvy in that department.

make sure superuser is updated and binaries updated
AFTER UPDATE ALSO
Root method would be awesome! After a few hours of the update failing, I got fed up and decided to flash factory, and update without root (and yes I followed all of Matt's instructions to a T).

I had pretty much given up on root about two weeks ago, so I quit checking, decided to wonder a bit and looked. LOW AND BEHOLD I saw this thread "Root is out" on the mail page and pissed myself. jk Thanks man (OP) you made my weekend.

[Q] Custom Recovery?

I was glad to see the Root posted, has anyone seen anything on a custom recovery, such as Clockwork Mod or (preferably TWRP)?

I didn't know ROOT was available until I saw your post - I checked out Chainfire's CF Autoroot thread and found that he did indeed post a download for the TMOBILE NOTE 4 - you will find more information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/sm-n910-cf-auto-root-t2897428

I really wanted to hold out too. But I just cant anymore. especially with all the great developers getting on this device. I know the Custom ROM support will be great and it helps to really debloat the device. Anyway I wont be going without any protection. Im getting the Note 4 and then i will purchase SquareTrade's $100 for 2 years Insurance in case anything goes wrong. I still haven't voided Knox on my Dad's S5 or my Note Pro 12.2 because I'm so paranoid.

someone might want to post over at the TWRP website, and see what files they need to get a TWRP going for this phone.

I looked for the right place to "volunteer" to help supply this information, but I don't see any place to post over on the TWRP web site and I don't see a general thread in XDA for TRWP (they all seem to be phone specific and I don't want to hijack them). Can you please point me out a link?

Cool! Waiting patiently, hoping that it works for the S5 as well.
Hoping it works... If the knox changed it will cause the fingerprint not working?
Nothing stops working when you trip KNOX to 0x1
Mine is 0x1 and everything still works fine, fingerprint included

if knox is tripped 2 things are not working, knox mode and warranty.

Nope, I couldn't get it to work either. You would think that if it's a kernel exploit it should work on anything vulnerable. Ah well, back to the waiting game. :silly:

I'm patiently waiting to see something for S5 owners too...but i don't see a lot of hype for our devices. Has someone tried new 3.2 Beta of this exploit? Also, is there any way we could maybe help the team to speed up the porting of this tool to the S5?

Isn't that related only on S6 ROMs (G925 and G920)?
Hi, after re-reading some messages, it appears the link is specifically for S6, but he said that S5 is supported using kingroot. Can anyone confirm kingroot working on theirs (other than G900h owners - I tried on mine it failed at 60% or so) ?

Could you please explain on which specific ROM version you tried it and which steps you exactly took? Thanks in advance.
I'm using G900HXXU1BOD3_G900HOLB1BOD1_XSE, downloaded and installed kingroot which after 60% a sad face shows (means it fails, otherwise it will show a green checkmark - seen on youtube). Also tried ping pong root, it said successful up to beta 4 - but nothing happens even after reboot, but on beta 5 it fails.

I tried the PingPong root method used on the S6 with no luck. I did add the FPtag that the OP asks for in requesting new devices, so who knows, maybe they will look into S 5 support

Thanks for the info, i didn't tried that method, thanks for letting us know.
Let's hope they work on the S5.
I am skeptical. This seems like it's "too good to be true" but I am wondering if anyone has tried this:

I already had to take my phone to the AT&T Repair store after trying other things. I don't want them to think I am up to something.

Unless we can roll back BL then it won't work, unfortunately.
My att note 3 was on 5.0 with locked boot loader and went all the way back to 4.4.2 to root

It also has to do with qfuse counts.
muniz_ri posted a very informative message in one of the other related threads, but I've lost track of it, but one of the counters that is hardware based once flipped will prevent earlier BL from functioning with the hardware.
Thus, for the G900A once you've run the OC4 bootloader you can't go back to the earlier editions.
