I've seen that TV's DLNA implementation are more finicky about being able to show videos from other DLNA devices.
Another thing you can try is play the video from your phone using the Samsung's stock video player. While playing, there's a little rectangle on the top left to change your player. That lists all your DLNA capable device. It should show your TV there. Try selecting your TV.

I'll try that thanks

Since it's the DLNA functionality that you want, an alternative to trying to get the Motorola media player back is to check out Qualcomm's Skifta DLNA free app available in the Google Play Store.

are you talking about the media share app?
the player has to be DLNA compliant. From there you press the menu button and select the dlna player you want to play the video on. Works great for me through my xbox 360

Not that at all. For instance. When I'm on the Facebook app and click on a video. I can't watch them anymore. It says file format not supported.

Sounds like a flash player issue

Maybe you accidentally set a different default app for streaming? For example ES file explorer has an ES video player, and it would try to play streams when I would click on them.

I'm having that problem too on rooted stock. Just downloaded MX Player from the Play Store for streaming purposes.

Streaming using Chromecast

Hi,
I have a chromecast and was showing my friend as he was thinking of getting a smart TV but would consider alternatives.
He watches Man Utd games and streams them all.
I was trying to see if I could do that with mine but had no joy, as the game appears in a pop up.
Is it possible?
Cheers

If using android then yes, I do the same thing but using a app called torrent stream, would use the website wiziwig for my links or the app itself for live sports channels. Using an app called bubbleupnp I can cast to my chromecast. This does exactly what your friend would be doing.
