I flashed mine and my wifes with JB, then rooted with motochopper and did the SQLite entitlement trick for hotspot. Now both phones are broadcasting but connected clients don't get internet because of a DNS disconnect. Anyone heard of this? Could it be the build that I flashed with? Thanks for any help.
The JB version I used was ATT from sbf.droid-developers.org/dinara/list.php
I haven't heard of DNS disconnect but if you're not on AT&T check the tethering thread for instructions to change the dup_apn_changeable

It worked. Thanks
Hello,
I have been trying to get WiFi Tether Root working on my HTC One but it doesn't seem to want to work. I have watched the video for it and the HTC One for Sprint and the settings he used don't work for me. He did try to support me in the Youtube comments but nothing seemed to work. I did find a WiFi tether app that does work but the phone gets so hot it eventually shuts the WiFi hotspot off. That app is WiFi Tether Router. I have also tried FoxFi and PDANet+ neither seem to work.
Does anyone know how to get WiFi Tether Root working on the HTC One with laptops and Android tablets? Below is the troubleshooting I have already done.
I have the current version of WiFi Tether Root - TrevE Mod
I have tried Device Profiles: Auto, Generic, Generic ICS/JB (wlan0), Generic ICS/JB (wlan1), and others
Enable WiFi Encryption is off
WiFi-driver reload is turned on
With any of these settings the WiFi hotspot turns on, the download and upload sections of the application show no data flowing through or very little. Normally stopping at around 24 Kb download and 124 Kb upload.
Does anyone has a working configuration for this app? Does anyone know of a rom that has the native WiFi hotspot app service check disabled? Or a WiFi Tethering app that works without overheating the phone?
WiFi Tether Root app not working

I also tried the fix described in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266268
Turned on MMS clamping and Routing fix. Still no data going through.
I has the same problem and no luck if you find a solution please post it.
ROM?
Sent from my Nexus 7
I have a htc first that I unlocked so I can use on tmobile, currently on stock rooted rom. I have been able to reliably get wireless tether to work and would like to share what I find so that other people can see if it works. By using the wireless tether app I used to use with my epic 4g touch wireless tether works.
The settings i used were generic wlan0 Jb
mms claming checked
routing fix checked
wifi driver reload checked
The apk is attached.
I know it is an older device but it can be unlocked easily for free and can be purchased on ebay for around 100 in excellent condition. Gets Lte on att not on tmobile but great hspa+ speeds in my area, the only problem I had was wifi tether until i tried this method.
I see there have been quite a few views has this method worked for anyone else?
Resurrecting a zombie thread,
I can confirm the wifitether treve mod above works great, caveat the settings are followed as above post.
I am having trouble getting the htc one wifi tether to work right. It is rooted and have the wifi tether app on it and I can't seem to find mss clamping option on it, got everything else check out.
using this wifi tether app 3.3 version I think and I did set up for htc one setting just can't find mss clamping option under lan section
Ok I have a Note 2 running rooted 4.4.2 and when I'm connected to wifi I can't enable Bluetooth share. I've looked all over and I can't figure out how to enable this while connected to wifi.
I figured it out I just have to use pdanet while I'm on wifi with phone. If phone isn't on wifi I can use built in tether

I've posted about this in other forums and was hoping to find an Xposed module to fix this. Seems to be a restriction added to Android as of 4.3. Previous versions of Android allowed native bluetooth tether while on wifi. As of 4.3, it seems native bluetooth is no longer allowed........no idea why and was a little stunned to find that no one else really has complained about this.
