Geohots method is only for the i537 - not the i9295. The i9295 uses CF-Auto-root for the 9505, and then you end up with a rooted phone but a recovery you can't see because it uses the wrong screen drivers, so you either flash the stock recovery if you want to, or just flash the custom CWM recovery found in its own thread in the original android development subforum.
Instructions for how to use CF-Auto-root is apparently found here http://honai-android.blogspot.nl/2013/08/how-to-root-galaxy-s4-active-i9295-on.html
I can't find the thread I originally used when I rooted mine, which is weird, because I could have sworn it was stickied, but I guess something happened. Anyway it's not complicated, and not particularly risky. (Regular disclaimers apply).
Good luck!

If you want to try others methods to root your S4 Active, there is the software KingoRoot on PC to install : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2667886

[Q] Reverting back to Stock ROM

Hi guys, need your expert advise to understand something that's new to me....
Well been in this forum for quite some time ..(Back from HTC Diamond days...then HTC Desire, HTC Sensation etc..)
Flash numerous ROMs in all of those HTC devices.
Now, I've bought a second hand GS3 i9305 Titanium Grey for quite a good deal ! After buying I figured it doesn't have 'Software Update' inside 'About' Menu. So, by digging what I believe is, this devices has been rooted and 'may be' a different un-official rom had been flashed. Even the 'Samsung Kies' software tells that this firmware is not supported to auto update and..bla bla...
So, I had to find a way to go stock everything (ROM, MODEM, BOOTLOADER etc.) and start Fresh about rooting and stuff. But unlike HTC devices it's kinda ambiguous to me! So far I figured I want to:
1. Backup my IMEI (I've understood how to do so)
2. Find the exact official firmware.
After countless searching and reading (may be I'm dumb! ) I've reached this page:
HTML:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
... but completely lost as to which firmware version I should download. For Convenience please find below my device's information:
Model Number: GT-I9305
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: I9305BVALI5
Kernel Version: 3.0.31 - 142435
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT sun Sep 9 02:08:20 KST 2012
Build Number: JRO033C.I9305XXALI5
If you guys help me to find out the correct stock firmware and also give me link(s) to definitive guide(s) would help me a lot! (I've read some Odin flash guides though, from I9300 thread. I believe the same guide is also applicable for I9305?)
Thanks for your time reading this, and advanced thanks for your Answers!

Here's a link to some firmware and in it is a link to find out what you're after. Although I don't think it particularly matters which region and stuff cause it's all official samsung stuff: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9305
As for flashing there's a million guides out there so I suggest you google it or go through here and find a thread about flashing back to stock for the i9305.
:good:
.. Thanks I Guess! ..

[Q] SM G730A -Help Need Android 4.1.1 or 4.1.2

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini (SM G730A) locked to At&t and am trying to be able to use another carriers sim card in it. I read somewhere that if the phone was running Android 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 I could unlock by dialing a few numbers in my phone. Unfortunately, my version is running Android 4.2.2. Is there any way to take it back to 4.1.1 or 4.1.2? And if so where can I get it from?
I have read the rules and I sorry if these questions have already been answered, but I could not find them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sierra

Android 4.1.1 and Android 4.1.2 was only for the GT-I8190 (international model). For the SM-G730A (AT&T model) is Android 4.2.2 (maybe future Android 4.4.2) available only. From sammobile.com/firmware you can get offical signed firmwares from Samsung for your SGS3 mini model

Hi Mate you need to use the correct file to root your phone, actually GT-S5830 has NOT the same SoC as GTS-5830M, that's your problem
Do NOT flash roms, recoveries, kernels from GT-S5830 model or you'll brick your phone
Try this file
Root GT-S5830M

You're welcome
but... does this problem happenwith the attached file too? :weird:
Sure, which Android Version and Baseband firmware are you running with your GT-N7000?
If you have android ICS do NOT try to wipe your system partitions, there's a Exynos 4 SoC's risk to brick your eMMC partition !!

Where to Start? Stock 4.4.4 w/ Root

Hello readers, I want to upgrade my Sony Z3 Compact which Its running 4.4.4 and has been rooted. It hasn't been played with since and I'm unsure where I start!
Is it possible to install a ClockworkMod or some type of boot loader that allows me to re-install different OS like the one on my old HTC Droid?
Also is there anything I have to be aware about when trying out different OS, like DRM's or unlocked or locked.
Thanks!

SM-G800A rooting

I have scoured the internet and this forums for an answer to see if this AT&T S5 Mini can be rooted. Most articles seem to talk about other variants of this phone. Chainfire's site does not list the A model. There is one article (http://www.gogorapid.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s5-mini-sm-g800a/) on rooting this model, but it is for a different baseband version. The SRSRoot site claims it can root this phone...
So, the phone details are as below:
Device Name: Samsung-SM-G800A
Android Version: 5.1.1
Baseband Version: G800AUCU3BOJ8
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-6091345
Build Number: LMY47X.G800AUCU3BOJB
Knox Version: 2.4.1
From Samsung site, this version was released sometime in November of last year. I found the rooting guide for G900A (for a different build number though) on this forum and I am assuming that it is not applicable to G800A model.
Anyways, can I root this phone? I believe that this model with this baseband version cannot be rooted due to locked boot-loader... I wanted to confirm my understanding (or misunderstanding) as I have never rooted phones and I am hesitant to trust any answers outside these forums.. Thank you.
At this moment, I test with kingroot and nothing.
with debloater dont work too
