It does work perfectly but it's odd that it's filtered out of the Market. You still have to side load it.

can someone post a 3.1 friendly apk here for us then ?

where are you downloading the apk from??
I just downloaded it to my phone and grabbed it for my xoom.

so your saying google voice installs as long as we sideload it?
This doesn't surprise me, since the issue with Google Voice was the same issue as the Facebook Widget and that works too.
It seems Google relaxed the API a bit with regards to null intents
I just back it up to my drop box.. here's the link if you want to download it

so i thought i would be able to get msg's on my tablet and my phone but when i setup my sprint number with gvoice i stop getting msg's on my phone and only get them on gvoice on the tablet
you can also get apps directly on your xoom by downloading from amazon app store. there's a ton of apps that work fine but missing from the market. and you don't have to go through putting the app on your phone then moving to your xoom, and you will get updates.
Yeah, found this out last week. Unfortunately, push notifications are STILL not enabled (you still have to select a polling interval).

I figured 15mins was the best compromise.
One thing I did was change my Voice Notification E-mail from my default account to my GMail account, which means I at least get instantaneous notifications, but even still that's a hack.
FFS Google- you can't make this whole?!
Confirmed. It works perfectly. Thanks for the heads up.

Umm' stupid question I'm sure but here goes...
If I install the voice from your dropbox does it replace the Google voice on the xoom? As in no more video calls, or does this just add capability to use the calling features? I'm so confused..

Yes I am. Might be the polling interval but I uninstalled it until there is a fix or an official release
Go into System Settings--->More--->Security--->Device Administrators and check to see if you have the new "Android Device Manager". I just got it today, never got notified of an update or anything... it just *appeared* there outta nowhere lol.
Here is a link to show you what it can do.
It is what it says it is, you can manage your device if it gets stolen or lost and remotely wipe it from the comfort of your own home/computer. There are a lot of 3rd party apps that do this (both paid and free) but it's always nice to see Google integrate this into our devices!
there for me as well, never look there so idk for how long/when.
Holy shizzz! Thanks a ton for this contribution. Never realized it or heard of it.
I tried the location feature, worked like a charm. I tried Ring but that didn't work.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
got it too! location and ring both worked :good:
Just tried the location and ring and both worked... I would assume "wipe phone" works, but I'll just save that for later
Got it yesterday on my S4 and N7, ring and location works on both. Cool!
Hmm.. I have it on my HTC One GE as well. No idea when it came through.

thats the thing, it depends on remotely going into stock recovery to wipe the device, us rooted users may not be able to wipe
It was very buggy at first. Wouldn't even locate my device.

I went ahead and tested it all out. The remote location works great, ring worked and remote wipe worked. Very cool stuff! This was with a converted HTC One to the GE.
Strange I cant get this to work with the phone but my tablet was fin (both rooted) I did disabled a few things from google framework tweaks, not sure if that's the reason.
They are doing a slow rollout. Maybe it hasn't been updated yet.

Yes it is worth it. They have a flashable zip that survives a factory reset. Its just a few euros and you can run it on 5 devices no matter which Google account is used.

The only way this works is if you keep data on. If you turn it off for whatever reason this service is pretty much null and void since you need an active data signal for this to work.
Does not work for me. Rooted/rebooted and I have the function, but it will not find my phone, ring, etc. I'll keep trying.
i have two phones and both appear on google play but it will only allow me to probe the first phone. changed the "visibility" to "show in menus" setting on google play, didn't make a difference.
edit: found this but i don't have that arrow option to select the other phone. anyone else?
Setting works on both our SGS4's. One rooted stock, one stock. Obviously didn't try wipe. TWRP on rooted so I'm sure it wouldn't work anyway. Nice feature, but you still can't beat Cerberus!

Supposedly, should go to settings - controls - language and input - text-to-speech (TTS) options - Samsung TTS engine and press configure cog. Then install voice data and download high quality voice female, but it doesn't do anything (in my case just a popup window that says it will download and nothing else happens). Can you please check this on your device also? It might be a software bug

Yup, same here. I want the Google voice, not the HD samsung voice.
I have this problem on my Huawei P6, and from doing reseach I believe it's the TTS. If you look at under language and input, there is no Google-Text-To-Speach engine, but instead just the Samsung one.
I still couldn't find a way to download (or where to download the app for that matter) the Google TTS engine.
I hope some can figure this out, because that Samsung voice is really annoying. The funny thing is, Google Now have the correct voice/sound.

I took a peek on the link provided as far as a work around for this issue/annoyance, and seems like a lot of work.
Anyway, I've found an easier solution. You have to be rooted and have Titanium backup. Not sure if it will for everyone, but it sure works on my phone.
All I did was freeze the Samsung TTS engine, and like a miracle my Google maps now sounds wonderful (it use the Google voice/speech) now.
Let me know if this works for you guys.
I'm happy now.

Google's map navigation function is pretty better than apple's. It shouldn't be lead you to lost at a different location.
So, I am new to Android, just switched after having every single iPhone variant, and finally got fed up with Apple. I currently have the Galaxy Note 3 for AT&T. Its an awesome phone but I am having issues with Hangouts. I cant seem to send or receive MMS's without the app crashing on me. I have downloaded the update thru Google Play and it doesnt even give me the SMS options. Downloaded the actual APK and it seemed to work fine, until MMS got involved. I am about ready to throw this phone out of my 19th story window. I hate the Samsung stock msg app. It never seems to want to download any MMS's
PLEASE HELP ME
I would hate to switch back to an iPhone just because of these msging issues.
Thanks in advanced

Hi, I just got a Gear 2 Neo and instead of using it with my Galaxy S4, I decided to use it with my LG G2. Just wanna share my experience here for someone else has the need which is similar to mine.
I could get it working with my LG G2 with full notification by installing the following APK of Gear Manager: http://www.mediafire.com/download/yo17ta4qyrx50zj/GearManager1_2.apk
However, without the ability to install S-Health, my activities like step counts, heart rate... doesnt get to be synced to my phone. And one more thing, I could check the update and found the new update but when I chose to install, the app got forced closed.
Love the Gear 2 Neo so far!!!

It works just fine with the Gear Manager posted on the OP, though (aside from the crashes when I try to update the Gear 2 Neo).

Crashes in the update software is understandable, we don't have samsung store... It works flawlessly here using the op apk.
A few minor glitches left, like s -health not working or notification for some apps showing only the app name and not the content (xabber for example), some missing apps like weather (tw dependancy), or no way to install third party apps like the sleep tracker (nobody released it, it's only on samsung store).
Appart from above, all functions of the watch are supported and working !

With the Galaxy Manager posted on the OP, the Gear 2 Neo will *probably* work out of the box. I said probably, because I've only tested it with the HTC One M8. I don't have any other Android phone I can test with at the moment.
To be fairly honest, I haven't spent too much time checking out all the features that work (and don't), but if I recall correctly:
• Notifications from the phone will be forwarded to the G2N just fine; this includes most third party applications (like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Hangouts, etc.)
• Contacts and Dialer, and I was able to make a call from the G2N (this goes through my M8)
• Find My Device (both G2N and M8 can "ping") each other
What doesn't work:
• Gallery (doesn't show any picture at all)
• Music Player (to be honest, not sure what it really does either)
• S-Voice will not work, in any under circumstances with non-Samsung phones, due to missing dependencies (TouchWiz Framework, and the S-Voice itself, which also relies on TouchWiz).
• Gear Updater, which crashed whenever you try to update your Gear through Gear Manager. There might be alternative ways to update your G2N though… but that's just theories at the moment.
• Weather, as it also relies on another Samsung-only app.
Limited Functionality
• Pedometer, Sleep Tracker, Exercise and other S-Health related features are limited to just the G2N. You can still record the data, but you can't sync or send it to the phone, as the these S-Health related data can only be viewed using S-Health (and this is limited to just Samsung phones only)
I can't remember what the latest update for the G2N is, but I believe it added Sleep Tracker (which has Do Not Disturb mode on it, or whatever the Samsung equivalent to DND)

It seems that S-Health Lite has another dependencies related to Samsung Account; because it appears that it wants me to log-in to Samsung Account. And without logging in, the app is useless and not pulling/displaying data from the G2N.
Edit:
I went into a Rogers store and I updated my G2N using their S5, so I am on the latest firmware.
I got it to connect to my LG G2 and I get no notification pushed to the watch. Nothing is being pushed to the watch for notification. I can place a call with the gear but nothing else.
