Took the plunge today with skinomi techskin dark wood version. Not really sure Iif I like it yet but it is a lot better then the glossy plastic back. Takes some photos for you guys, so make your own decision.
The skin is kinda nice with texture feel to it. My only concern is with the durability of the glue. I will be using my phone naked from now on. The skinomi will have to withstand constant rubbing in my pockets and hopefully it doesn't peel off around the edges and end up being a very expensive sticker. I am hoping that it will last me at least six month and hopefully a year. Any less and I won't be purchasing their product again.
Only time will tell.

Forgot to mentioned that I purchased the at&t cut to be used with the international D802 version. The back button fits perfectly. However there is a small hole at the back above the flashe which my D802 version have no uses for.

Regards,
It all depends on how good you applied the skin, and it seams that you did an excellent job.
pictures look great, thanks a lot for sharing!
Thanks. Right now the skin feels tight around the back off the phone. I used extras heat and pressure around the edges hopefully this will make the glue bonded well with the phone.

Looks good! Surprised you didnt take off the esn/imei sticker first though

how was the installation process of this? ive ordered the carbon skin version of this but was a little concerned about how easy it is to apply around the edges etc.
No worries around corner and edges. Use hair dryers that is hot enough and it literally mold it self around the edges. Keep heating it up and rub the edges with your fingers and you will get it perfect as long as you line it up correctly.

Kinda thinking about it, I was thinking it might be beneficial later on. Didn't realized it would show this much through the skin else I would have taken it off.

Just a quick update. After three weeks of usage, the skin is holding well and looked brand new.

I have always wondered about these things. They offer nothing but scratch protection and perhaps improve grip. They do look cool, especially when applied as well as yours. I guess if you do not want a case then this is the best idea other than commando. I accidentally got the full Zagg kit for one of my early phones. It didn't last long. Thin parts peeled within a couple weeks. Sounds like these are nicer

I was comfortable with a case before because this phone is so thin, extra bulk helps with the grip.
However after going naked for month, I kinda liked it a lot and the phone feels great in your hand. I hated the shiny back of G2, being a finger print magnet and always leave you hand feeling dirty and oily. This skin feels much better.
I didn't use the skinomi front protectors as it is similar to zagg. I used to have zagg for my old phone and I hated how it feels. Instead I use regular clear protector for the front.

I understand the feel. Skinomi doesnt feel like the Zagg though. It didn't have that wrinkled look with the phone off either. It may be like the newer Zagg Hd, but I do not link is because I have never tried the hd

Looks like the same material as the exoskin.
Can't really are how the corners compare the the exoskin has an 'LG' cutout that looks great.
When applying great be careful as the material can tear/break easier with heat.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
When I applied in it it was somewhat easy. After making sure that everything lined up, all you have to do is heat it with hot air from dryers especially around the corners and the skins molded it self nicely.
So far everything seemed to be sticking well to the phone. But it has only been a month so we will see.
-LG G2
I like this product; however, I had troubles keeping the corners down. When I pulled the phone out of my pocket, the corners get peeled. I ended up cut off all corners. I didn't think I'd like it afterwards but I did. Still have it on now.

I really like these cases.
Here are some pictures (sorry, I took them in low light with the Galaxy S3):
I got the black and white cases, I personally like the white one more, but the black is also nice.

The case is very sturdy and very nice to the touch. It's kind of slippery, but it feels fine in the hand.
It doesn't hinder the Spen. I've had other cases for this note, and the original, and the Spen on some cases were impossible to take out
Buttons are easily accessible and they're raised! FINALLY! They're easy and clicky! Also, it has a charm loop or a lanyard loop.
Here are some pics of the black one
The cases are easy to apply and the phone basically snaps on, it's not a tight tight fit, but it's not going to come out on its own. It's snug in there, but you don't feel bad having to press really hard or anything like that to get the case off. It basically just comes out with ease.
These cases are going to be my daily drivers for a while, until something better comes along. I usually like Samsung cases. I love the S3 cases and now the Note 2 cases. The only thing I wish it had was the silicon flap to cover the USB or the headphone jack (or both!) to not let any dust in.
Hit thanks if this review has helped you or you just like the pics Or if you'd like me to continue reviewing cases I buy .
Thanks for reading!

Update: I have been getting a lot of PMs about where I got the case. I finally ordered it from here: CLICK, 15 euros.
On another thread (this thread) I had found some ebay links, and then I found some stores
All you need to do is search for the model number of the one you're looking for:
Black case: EFC-1J9BBEG
White case: EFC-1J9BWE
Pink case: I don't remember sorry!
Hope I've helped!
UPDATE: Today is my birthday, and last night I went out with some friends and I used this case. Oh my... The dark photos were ... let's just say that they could be used for Paranormal Activity 10! The white case gives off a reflection! Check this out. I don't recommend the white case if you're going to take night time pictures with flash. Without flash the pictures were fine, but the white edges of the case reflect and kind of destroyed the pictures. The reflection kind of threw off the rest of the picture (exposure, white balance, not to mention the spirit appearing at the bottom of my picture)!
Thanks for posting so many pics. I just ordered one of the white ones today and feel more secure in my decision after seeing your post. I'm currently using one of the generic "folio" type cases off of Amazon and was looking for something that was less awkward to use while I wait for Otterbox to release the Commuter/Defender cases.
It's disappointing to hear the cases are a little slippery. I was hoping for quite a bit of grip improvement.

The back plate is a slippery (and on the black, it's a fingerprint magnet, as you can see!) but the sides are rubber, and it won't slide out of your hand if you're holding the sides. But the back itself is slippery. It's plastic... Of course it is! It's SAMSUNG!

I'm glad to have helped! I'm really content with the cases. You can tell that they've been made specifically for this phone. All the details are there for the ports and buttons. It is actually slimmer than my other TPU cases.
I'm not a fan of folio cases because I don't want to cover the LED Notification light, or when it's open cover the camera! They're probably two of the most important features about this phone for me.

I ordered mine on the 25th and shipped out on the 27th. I'm in SoCal USA and it shipped from Dallas, TX.
Received and agree on all points. Fit is superb. Yeah, it's a little slippery on that glossy back piece but you're going to be gripping the rubbery sides so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Those raised plastic button covers on the sides for the volume and power are indeed nice and very assuring to the touch. It's not as thick as I thought it would be from seeing the pics.
Only con is it does add more weight than I would prefer but I feel more secure with the phone inside so I can deal with it.
My new favorite case over the Nilkin that exposed the top and bottom of the phone. :victory:
mine shipped today. I usually dont use cases, but i gotta say i loved the way the samsung cases looked on the GS3, looking so thin, i barely even noticed people had cases on them when i saw people pull them out. gotta love the samsung 50% off coupon too, ordered the tectiles and charging dock and battery. ( rE155266e coupon code)
I've received some PMs about where I got my cases from. It's a company here in Madrid. Their website is www.Octilus.com, they had the cheapest price I could find and their shipping was only 1€. I'm enjoying the cases highly recommended.

I was concerned about adding bulk to this sexy device, but I can safely say its a non-issue with this..
I got my black case yesterday and I'm very pleased with fit and finish. I don't think it's possible for a case to add less bulk and provide similar protection. The hard back does show finger prints and finger oil smears very clearly but no big deal and overall looks better than the T-mobile logo IMHO. Soft sides provide good grip and the charcoal gray color looks very good with the front bezels of titanium model. It didn't seem like a tight fit going on but doesn't seem loose in use. I imagine a little looseness is a good thing when it comes to shock adsorption and I believe the rubber sides will grip well enough to prevent the phone from separating during most falls. The edge surrounding the screen is raised enough to keep it from touching a flat surface when face down but just barely. I expect the screen could make contact if the phone is dropped on an irregular surface. I have a Spigen SGP Ultra Clear screen protector for that situation and highly recommend it as well. I can't even tell it's there from looks or function. Invisible to the eye and S-pen with cut outs for camera, proximity and light sensors as well as the speaker and home button. Feels like the native glass to finger and pen might actually feel better with a very very slight and benefitial increase in drag. So slight it may be imaginary.

Ordered the black for myself and white for the wife. Still waiting on them to get here, we usually only use Speck cases but since Speck has not came out with one yet These will have to do. Plus we got each of them for 50% off for registering our phones on the Samsung site.

The first thing I purchased for my Note 2 was a case. I was always disappointed with how the bezel around the edge of my Galaxy Nexus had the paint chipped away after little to no abuse. I wanted to make sure that this didn't happen with my new phone.
That being said, I was never super happy with the case's look/finish. I'm pleased with the protection and coverage (luckily I haven't tested out it's drop protection ). When I had the phone on my desk and tried to swipe the screen, I would just start sliding the phone around on the desktop. This also led to small scuffs/scratches on the glossy back. Also, in certain light, they textured sides looked to be almost a light blue/grey in color which didn't look all that good IMO against the glossy black back.

with flash (over exaggerates the color and texture difference)
All taped up. Make sure to tape up under the lip. I used a bent piece of metal as a holding stick so I could move the cover around to get coverage on the back, sides, and face.
Enter the Plasti Dip:
After first light coat:
After some dry time:
2nd coat:
after dry time:
3rd coat (heavy coat):
after dry time:
Turns out, I didn't get the face/lip nearest the earpiece good enough. From looking online, I saw/read where this PlastiDip stuff doesn't bond to the surface and can be pealed off at any time. That's one of the reasons I felt so comfortable using this stuff on my case. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't come off of the textured sides, but I got to test it out.
I was tempted to just respray over the light area, but I had been using the phone for about a day before I noticed. I didn't want to risk having some dirt/oil/contaminate on it, so I went to peel it up and start over:
Turns out, the lines in the case make it come off in sections. I ended up leaving the Plasti-Dip covering the old gloss sections. It feels better in the hands this way and it still keeps the phone firmly in place when swiping the screen while sitting on a hard/slick surface.
It also blends in better in color and texture (this was taken after I peeled away the Plasti Dip from the sides)
Really nice. Im going to try this once the back gets more scratches than it already has. Thanks for the idea

that looks really sharp! I'd like to know how it feels after a week or more. Does the plastidip start flaking or peeling off?
The plasti dip I have smells like peanuts...
It makes for a strange situation when you pull the phone out of your pocket around other people.
They should sell scented plasti dip. Watermelon would be great...
Or peppermint.
Looks great. I'll probably do that once the housing is scratched up. It's strange to coat the phone to protect it from scratching but then never get to appreciate the beauty because it's all covered up.
Looks great. My issue with plastidip on phones is that they no longer sliiiideeee. I keep mine in my pocket so it's a non-starter.

The fact that it keeps the phone from sliding was one of the big reasons for me doing this. I don't like it sliding around on hard surfaces when I'm trying to one-finger-drive with it on a desk/counter/table. The only time I had a problem with it being too "grippy" in a pocket was when I was wearing exercise pants with a mesh pocket. It was even less pocket-pulling grippy when I pulled off the PlastiDip from around the sides. When I pull my phone out of my pocket, I tend to grab it in a way where my thumb is on the screen and my 4 other fingers are on the back side - so the only part contacting the pocket is the sides.
Looks nice

I tried using plastidip on the back cover itself before I got any cases. I may not have applied it well or something, but mine started peeling within 3 days.
I had some pictures up in the "Post a picture of your case along with your Note 2" thread but search is currently unavailable and I'm far too lazy to go through that number of pages to find them.
Also for any brits looking to do this: it's probably cheaper to buy a new case, plastidip has a ridiculous markup in the UK (about £17 for a spray can, compared to $6 in the US. That works out to nearly $30 for a single can of plastidip)
I must try this with the back of my flip cover. I hope they make silver plasti-dip cause and orange with silver flip cover would look sick. ^o^

sorry for not delivering as promised on the pictures. my fiance had a death in the family and had to travel back to Malaysia for the ceremonies.
the PlastiDip pulled up on mine as well. and before i could get any pictures, her nephew peeled the rest off (brat!).
i'm not sure if it was because of the 3 light coats i put on it or if it was just he nature of the beast. but i really liked the grip that it gave so i'm going to try it again this time with more coats as well as use a degreaser to clean it first (i only wiped it down with diluted windex the first time).
i make no promises on when i'll get to do it other than "soon." but i'll post pics and results in this thread when i do.
Has anyone tried this with just a Epoxy Coating spray on? It's suppose to do same thing.
This is great idea! Good job with the plastidip coating! I am definitely going to do this to my phone. BUT this time, with my back cover for the phone itself..
That came out really nice! I'm tempted to do it to my note 2 flip cover tmobile gave me for free.

They're great! I have one for the Galaxy S4, and it feels like a tank. I can't imagine how big it would be for the Note 2 though.
The two aluminium halves of the case support the phone where the screw holes are, so I wouldn't be surprised if it could withstand being run over by a car. It's a good idea to install a wireless charging pad as well. It works through the silicone cutout in the back, and makes charging much more convenient! The built-in glass screen protector is also nice. None of this!:

No idea about it but thanks to inform
Got the case today. Ordered it on April 29th and got it in today, May 12th.
The case comes nicely packaged. The outside of the box says it's waterproof, but I wouldn't trust it at all. The camera area has a small piece of tempered glass over it and the seal around it looks like black glue. I't might be waterproof, but risk it. Also, the earplug port doesn't seem like the best seal either. It close really tight, but still seems like a risk. The phone speaker and seems like it has a small black screen over it, doesn't look water proof at all there. That's pretty much the only negative things about the case. The rest is pretty damn good.
The case comes packaged like this:
Opening the box you get the extra screws and the tool to remove the crews.
Now for size comparison. The case next to an Otterbox Defender case. This case is 1/8" longer and 1/8" wider then the Otterbox. To me, that doesn't feel any bigger in my hand at all.
The big difference is the height. The Otterbox is 1/4" thicker then the metal case. Here they are laying flat next to each other.
I weighed the phone in the Otterbox and it was 9.6 oz. In the metal case it weighed 11.4 oz., so a slight increase in weight. And to me the 2 oz. is that big of a deal. What's really nice is the tempered glass screen protector. It feels about 3x's thicker then the plastic one on the Otterbox. There isn't any problem with sensitivity screen interaction. Also, the black square on the back is some of the rubber from the inside of the case and it sits right in the palm and keeps the phone from slipping. The black all along the edges is rubber too and helps with grip. I can see the rubber possibly attracting some dust. Have to wait a few days and see how dirty it gets. All of the buttons work easily too. Power, volume and home button all work perfectly.
I showed this case to 3 other friends and family that have Note 2's and all want to order one now. The only thing that would make this case better would be a big name brand behind it that would back up the waterproof claim. If this case had been around when the Note 2 launched, I would have definitely picked it over the Otterbox.
nice side by side comparison. ty.
Before I got the case I did the live chat on the site and asked a few questions and they said NFC would not work once the case was on. I can use S Beam and all of that just fine since there isn't metal behind the black square on the back.
Also worth mentioning is the impact truss inside of the case's silicone bumper. They are triangular holes that help absorb shock when dropped.
Thanks for the awesome review. I couldn't wait and ordered mine before this review came out. I hope mine arrives as swiftly ad yours did. I am concerned that it won't fit in my iottie dash mount

D'oh, thanks.
How do you like it so far? I've got an Otterbox Defender now and I do like it, but it's a little too bulky and makes the screen corners hard to touch.

Great to see it in action. Now it's just the phone that's missing. But I think the back cover goes on the back or the phone and not on the case itself. Since plastic on glass will create those smudge effect that doesn't look too good tbh.
Got my cases shipped 18th of March but guess it takes abit longer to ship to Sweden than the US. Got the Crystal Clear and Smoke Crystal.

Yea realized later that it should go on the back of the phone's glass back and not on the case lol.
My Emerald Green should look stunning in there, thanks for the posting
is the crystal clear flexible? it says TPU and PC. can't tell if it's more soft like a TPU or hard.

Yes Poetique is right. Ultra Hybrid has hard plastic back and a tpu frame. The Liquid Crystal has a similar look but is all TPU if you want something similar but more flexible.

If you can let update us on the fit. I got their thin fit model and it's really loose. and not snug like the same case for the S4. Apparently a lot of people are complaining about it.

I got the same one as the op and really like the thinness and feel. Good grip
thanks for the pics
i just ordered 3 of them from ebay
50usd for 3 of them includes the shippment
I actually had no idea these things came with clear protectors for the back. Only complaint I have is that they don't fit around the camera and flash/health sensor very well, and will be distracting if the phone's out of the case at any point. And if you want to temporarily switch cases, the poor cutout will be distracting. Almost perfect, but just barely disappointing :T
At the same time, though, I'm not sure if other companies offer that back adhesive.

You guys should seriously consider the Spigen NeoHybrid. Back of case is ruberized. Sides of case, meaning total peripheral is metal. Actually feels superb to hold and you still have that sense of a metal body the naked GalaxyS6 Edge comes with. Nice larger cutouts for headphone plug as well as USB for those with larger connectors. Absolutely no regrets. I did NOT opt for the optional free front screen protector. I like the look and feel of a phone with the screen as is.

I mentioned this to Spigen, they said it's so that it doesn't catch on the case?? Not sure how that's possible, as I'm fairly sure they could have made it go right to the edge of the glass and not have any issues with the case, but oh well, maybe (I hope) they tried that before making them in this smaller size
Is it mandatory to place the back screen protector when using this case? Will the case actually scratch the back glass? Thanks in advance.
you have to decide if its worth it to you to be protected, or you don't care..frankly, since I will probably jump in 6 months to the next great thing, I don't care if the back of the phone has a few scuffs, since it doesn't affect the ability to jump with T mobile. Plus, who stares at the back of their phone anyways..
I did put it on anyways, since it was there, and I figured might as well.
But if you buy it outright, or plan on keeping the phone for a while, you might feel differently

I have this case. My phone seems to move around in it. I'm guessing the case is a little to big.

Just an update on this. I have the same case since day 1 of owning the phone. It's got an ungodly amount of scratches, more than any phone I've seen before. Additionally, it has a green tint around the sides. Very disappointed. I would complain to the makers of it but I'm out of the country currently.
This is pretty much my favorite combo I have found for this phone so far. It is great. Looks and feels amazing and of course isn't going to add much bulk at all to the beautiful designed phone.
First there is the slickwraps leather skin. The leather is cut precisely and adds some much needed grip to the glass back of this phone as well as giving some great uniqueness to the design. It fits very well and smells great. I have the "distressed tan leather" on me me and it looks great with the white Note 5.
Next there is the aluminum frame by Luphie. I got mine in gold to complement the brown leather. I have to admit the combo looks really impressive. The bumper frame is good quality, especially for the pretty cheap price you can pay on eBay. The frame joins together by 2 small screws, and they give you 2 extra, along with a screwdriver in the package. The openings are precise and well placed. The only opening that gives a little trouble is the one for the s-pen. It is a little deep, so is a bit difficult to eject the pen. I find if I use my pinky finger's tip though that I can hit it just fine. The headphone opening and opening for the USB cable are ample enough, and work well with aftermarket cables. The case itself is lined with some stick on foam as well, which is good as it keeps it isolated from the frame of the phone itself. This both protects the phone, and reduces the risk of interference with reception. Speaking of reception on the phone with the frame on, I do seem to see some mild effect there, but I have not tested it directly yet for numbers. When I do I will update here.
Overall, I think this is an awesome combo and really does add some good protection to the phone without adding hardly and bulk at all. It makes the phone even look more premium and does not detract from the overall design at all, which is a great plus.
Any questions, let me know.

How much signal do you lose from the bumper? How is GPS lock in with it?

That would look cool with the Black bumper, and black leather skin on the Blue Note 5.
How thin is that bumper ? Does it feel like just a skin and a little wider bumper ? Or does it make it feel like a thicker case ? How's the grip ? Slippery, or comfy ?
Looks cool. I have the aluminum bumper, but i couldn't stick with because of the opening for S-Pen. even my fat pinky was too big for it....
Hopefully someone makes a better bumper soon

The bumper does add some width to the phone, but not much in the way of thickness. Grip is good with the bumper, and the addition of the leather back makes it really nice to hold.

Yeah, it is a tight fit. My pinky isn't too thick I guess so it is doable for me, but yeah, that is one opening that I wish they went a little wider on.

I used the luphie bumper for about two weeks but got sick of it mainly because it adds way too much width to the phone, not so much in thickness. Also I noticed it started to scratch the frame of the N5 slightly which really made me upset. Another problem I had was that when I hold the case with one hand I usually let my pinky finger hold the phone up while I use my thumb to navigate the screen and the edges on the bottom of the case are really sharp and uncomfortable. It does look cool though... Just wish a company like Element Case would make a bumper for the Note 5
Quick update on durability and protection of this. I had not meant to test this out of course, but the other night my Note 5 slide off a table onto a tile floor and landed smack down flat on its back. I froze. Picked up the phone. Slowly took off the frame and then peeled off the leather skin. Phew. No damage at all. It fell about 3 feet of so, and sounded God awful when it hit, but thankfully came through unscathed.

Yeah, the Rhino bumper looks pretty good, just curious how much bulk it may add to the edges.
Font is Caviar Dreams. One of my favorites.

That's my question as well, by looking at the video it looked a little bit on the hefty side. Hope that's not the case.
o just ordered the luphie bumper from aliexpress for 8$. and also a back tempered glass. would be a great combination as i plan on using it naked
Looks nice, from the photos it seems that the camera does not protrude beyond the learher skin. It is really the case? Thanks
