Easiest way to go is download this toolkit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942
Then download whatever ROM you were using and sideload it using the toolkit. The toolkit will walk you through the whole process.

[Q] Phone stuck at SW update

Hi all.
I have LG Optimus 2X that needs to be fixed. It's not my phone and I'm not quite familiar with all these developing stuff so I would need some starter guide
My friend (who owns the phone) tried to update it, connected it to PC and started update but phone got stuck at SW upgrade and I can't even get to recovery. Can you please give me some advice? Thanks in advance!

Can you please give me some link? I don't know what sould I look for.
Sorry for bothering you like that.
First do a hard reset. Power button+ volume down button hold together
If hard reset doesn't work
Then,
download the AIO tookit from here http://www.playallatonce.com/toolkit/
install it and install drivers present in AIO toolkit
then download the ics stock rom from here http://d-h.st/users/gueste/?fld_id=7432#files
install it using nvflash method from toolkit

though your last post was perfect for a noob......just wanted to correct something with this post...
NVflash of a stock ROM does not automatically root it....we have to root it using a rooting method...for example spyrosk's All In One Tool kit
Thanks

Request Rogers stock recovery Please

I have to return my phone and I cannot get my stock recovery back onto my One. I followed the instructions that were played out in the guide I used but either did something wrong, or accidentally deleted the initial backup.
If anyone with the rogers variant could please help me by providing the stock rogers recovery.img i would be forever indebted to you. A stock nandroid would also work.

This thread has the OTA for rogers. In the folder there should be a firmware.zip file that contains a recovery. I was able to use the to upgrade to 1.29.631.17 from .4 (took 3 restarts) but I never tried to the 4.3 update.

so is the firmware.zip the Stock recovery file? If i flash it, will i go back to Stock recovery?
Currently i am on Stock Rom, but the recovery is TWRP... so if i try to update the latest 4.3 by Rogers, it opens up the TWRP recovery and sits there.,..

Well the OTA kept asking to update every second. I pushed the .zip Firmware at HBOOT along with installing the stock rooted ROM. Everything worked fine until i accidently allowed the OTA update to install and rebooted the phone and it wont start back up now.

If i have the ROM on my internal SDcard already could i just flash that through recovery? I know the big problem was installing the new OTA update through sprint.

I am not sure i am explaining this well either. I am rooted... S-OFF... I installed the custom .zip for firmware from themikmik forum (captin)... which was installed through HBOOT on an external SDCard. I then Installed the Stock rooted from From captin. All was good until the notification to update OTA popped up and accidentally installed. After the phone rebooted it will never get past the white HTC One screen. I can boot into my Custom recovery and that is all i can do.

Yeah give it a shot.
Also within twrp choose File Manager and navigate to your Internal sdcard and find the downloads folder and delete the OTA file.
Not 100% sure that will work but it's worth a shot.

You cold try fastboot flashing the stock recovery and see if the OTA will continue

I personally never take the OTA.
All I know is you have to have a stockish rom and stock recovery for the OTA to flash

You can still weekly update with TWRP. I've been doing it since I got the phone 2-3 weeks ago. It just launches the updater script in TWRP and installs fine
Ok.. Nice! I've just read that TWRP would break the updates. I'll try when the next one comes. Thanks☺

I stand corrected. This week's update didn't work for me. I checked my downloaded_rom folder and it seemed to be downloading entire ROMs the past two weeks, except this week it was just the patch. With. The entire rom download, it installed but with this week's update only it did not install.
Mine did not update as well.. Just froze at the MI logo.. Tried twice.

TWRP does break the updates and even after restoring stock recovery it still won't do it just download the full rom and dirty flash it through TWRP. If you still need stock recovery here's my backup. https://mega.co.nz/#!KFckQTBR!r3zUx_6OoKiusgPWRSBYhltvHP48RLfhuSnZ59wXF2k
I have made the backup using Flashify so you will need to install Flashify and place the file inside Android/data/com.cgollner.flashify/files/flashify-backup/recovery

Cf Autoroot works for your device. Here is a link to the thread that will get you rooted. If you want, you can Odin TWRP for your device and then flash the SuperSu zip in recovery too. If it were me I would Odin TWRP and flash the SuperSu zip in recovery.
CF Autoroot:

A little bit I rooted my old HTC about 4 years ago
It's really easy rooting your device, just follow this straight forward simple guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/general/sm-t710-6-0-1-t710xxu2cpd9-marshmallow-t3371545
Follow the "TWRP installation" and "ROOT" section.
If you have ever rooted any device, then using the guide provided above would be a walk in the park. As it guides you through how to use "odin" which helps a lot as I'm assuming you have never used it before.

Trying booting into recovery a few times and see what happens. If not just repeat the steps in the guide in regards to TWRP it should definitely work.
