Is there a way to install the android 4.1.2 camera app on the 4.3 version? I have an extracted stock firmware but placing the camera apk and setting the permissions won't make the app start.
I have an Xperia V.

Hi Everyone,
Posted this question on last page of this thread as it was here I downloaded files and followed instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965991
but no replies - about installing the 4.2 camera on an ICS rom
I'm getting the com.google.android.gallery3d has stopped error whenever I try to 'edit' a picture from the new gallery
Flashed the gallerygoogle and gmscore apks and all the .so files are in place with the right permissions, I've tried with two versions of the libjni_filtershow_filters.so file I've found, one is about 25kb and the other is about 54kb
I haven't disabled the original camera or gallery, although old camera has disappeared now
New Camera, Gallery and Photosphere are working fine (though I am limited to 5MP), but I want to edit/touch up the photospheres - I can edit from the ORIGINAL gallery, but this reduces resolution and the jpg loses the photosphere status
Any ideas? Is it a conflict with the original gallery? Or is there another version of the lib files I should be using? and re: that, is there a version where photosphere/camera isn't limited to 5MP? (have done the prop.build mod to say I'm on a galaxy nexus)
I'm on Xperia T, stock 303 rom, rooted
Thanks!
J

Hey guys,
I've just updated to the official 4.2.2 ROM (.244 update, HK version firmware) and I realize there is no Photosphere feature in my camera.
Can you guys confirm this?
photosphere is only available in AOSP/vanilla android... do a search someone's posted it u can install it like a normal apk
Use this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340858
Install as normal apk.
For me, everything works except Clock.apk. Camera isn't cropped at the right size due the touch keys, but seems working well. Photo editor doesn't start. Not sure if they will run well on JB 4.1 (FW .310).
Download here
Includes :
Calendar.apk
Camera.apk
Clock.apk
Email.apk
Gallery.apk
GmsCore.apk
Hangouts.apk
Home.apk
Keyboard.apk
Velvet.apk
Source
Instructions :
enable unknown sources in Settings > Security
install them as usual
*ROOT* if you get force closes etc, uninstall what you've installed. Locate your stock apps in system/app, then cut/paste those you wish to replace as TheApp.apk + TheApp.odex to your SDC in order to backup them. When done, copy all kitkat apps directly in system/app & reboot. If that didn't fix, wiping cache & Dalvik cache may be required (into Recovery).

Whats your current android version?
I tried using the camera on my kitkat HTC One. When I choose panorama mode and the other one it crashes and the app close.
Anyone has the default z1 camera app in the lollipop version? Can someone give a copy of it? I wanted to flash a camera mod but unfortunately it has to overwrite the clean copy because I'm on a rom that has a modded camera too.
