Finally I decided to make my custom rom in a different way, but this time is for Samsung Stock and Cyagenmod9 and 10
How it works and why I did so?
I created an update script to be installed immediately after installing the ROM. So my patch, upgrade or custom rom as you prefer to call, requires the installation of a Stock Samsung ROM or Cyanogenmod9/10 before.
The advantage of the update to be and does not include a "base" of ROM in the script are:
- You may have constant updates on the same "base" of the ROM
- Size Update infinitely smaller than a ROM
- Possibility of customization by the user.
- Transparency, there is nothing hidden here and all the world can do what you want.
What can I expect after installing the Update?
- A clean ROM, quick and simple.
- Free RAM
- Excellent battery consumption
- Performance

How to install?
Install your Stock ROM and usually go right after installation and install the CWM my Update.
It is recommended *** BEFORE installing the update you do a full wipe, so you only have your ROM extremely clean and efficient.
Hope you enjoy, because it gave too much work.

*** Recommended before installing Cyanogenmod10 you to format Date, Cache, System and later to install the ROM and soon after without leaving the CWM install Eric-Filth's Update to get maximum performance and quality.
Sounds like a good plan ... Testing it now

The SystemUI apk makes this build specific ... How about another version without any UI changes that will work on most recent builds like LFB, LG1, etc.
I did the edit manually but another zip might help in the OP.

Let me understand this ,
Stock rom installed run this update .
but requires rom to be rooted first and CWM installed .
It updates a few apps .
Removes some unneeded apps .
Rom is not deodexed or zipaligned just basic stock rom with a few app changes .

Yes need STOCK XXBLXB installed first.
No need root, but need CWM.
Why you want deodex?
I made this update for me to turn easier my android life.
Im sharing only is not competition.

Had more than 100 downloads...
But nobody said anything.
Guys, any suggestion? Criticism?
Enviado do meu GT-I9300
Suggestions: since this SystemUI.apk is only made to XXBLFB, it's better to patch it with vrtheme, making it (almost) universal. 2. Don't include Play Store apps on /system/app. Better install them directly on Play, so it won't waste space on /system. Also, it's easier to uninstall completly, hehe.
Don't have a S III to test it, but looking at the zip, I can tell it's good [fun fact: it's real that the stock S III ROM is more bloated than a S II stock?]

By request, I ported this project to the vs980, d800, d801, d802, d803 and ls980. I don't own a G2 (maybe soon!) so let me know how it works.
Stripped down AOKP 4.4.2 base, trying to make it as lightweight as possible. ~ 159 Mb zip
The goal is to provide an efficeint, minimal groundwork for users to customize the way they like it.
Amazing battery life.
Base install has only ten apps in the drawer! (see Screenshots section above)
- Rooted
- ROM Control
- Working ART
- Removed -
.. Google Analytics via noAnalytics Remix
.. Stock Apps (Gallery, Browser, see Changelog below for complete list)
.. Live Wallpapers
.. Bootanimations
.. Stock ringtones/alarms/notifications
.. Bloat
- Silent camera
- AOKP kernel
Other optimizations coming!
bareBones download link hosted by XDA Dev-DB (at the top of the thread)
Minimal GAPPS
Current recommendation is Paranoid Android GAPPs package.
BaNKS minimal GAPPs started causing FCs and other issues, so until that's resolved try PA.
Installation Instructions
Make sure you are on the latest CWM/TeamWin Recovery!
1) Nandroid Backup
2) Wipe Data & Cache/Factory Reset (if you experience issues, it's probably due to a dirty flash over an old version)
3) Flash ROM
4) Flash GAPPS (optional)
5) Reboot
6) Enjoy!

can someone tell me if this is based of r1 or r2? I prefer roms based on r2, they are always more stable and fluent to me. less to zero SoDs. reboots and freezes...I wil likely give this a shot regardless but r2 is a preference that will make me not think twice
Got it. I wasn't switching to Web view. Thanks fellas

Its amazing that I've never seen anyone use that and I've been downloading since the original g1.
Thanks giving this a run!
Edit... This is on the mobile web.
For us "other" dumb people, give US a break and not be so rude. I wrote that at 4.30a. Some people have probably been here longer then you and understand things that you may not. Be wise with your words next time Mikkey81.

I have had it running for a couple of hours and I am happy. Thanks, I love a rom when it is stripped down bare, I removed a few others things just to find out how stripped this can get before it starts to falter. Once again, thanks.
So let's hope this is the last post on the subject...
If you are using the app, you must select web view from the options in order to get the download. The download link is not part of the first post... It's in another tab on the top of the thread. It's little used functionality that always confuses people but is actually pretty neat.
I read through the comments and no one was trying to pick on anyone it's just easy to misunderstand when you are just reading. The 'smart' comment was actually self-effacing humor.

This ROM looks interesting... I've been using a stock TW ROM for the last 6 months or so (still on a 4.2 version) and I've been a little out of the loop in regards to all the CM based ROMs out. Under known issues it just reads "Standard CM11 issues"... is the call bug from CM10 still an issue these days? I'm referring to the one that wouldn't let you call out on occasion without disconnecting. With all the tweaks and Xposed goodies I'm pretty sure the only thing I'd miss about the TW ROMs would be the Samsung Camera... although, I am interested in trying Google's new camera. One final question... what is "water lock and unlock sounds"? Thanks in advance!
No the CM call bug is gone.
For now there is no way to have the Samsung camera on AOSP...until someone finds a way to port it.
Water lock and unlock sound when you unlock the phone and when you shut the screen off. (Splashing water)

If you appreciate our work, small donations are always welcome, to any of contributors. But don't worry, we're doing this to show Samsung that kitkat WILL run well on SGS3, and we don't beg for money or silly petitions to continue.
You can use this ROM as a base for your ROM if you understand that it's in alpha stage and it doesn't work quite stable yet. However, no support will be given and by using it you fully understand that you're on your own with porting and using it.
If you decide to do so, you need to include proper information that your ROM is based on "ArchiPort", and leave a link to this thread. Using our ROM as a base without doing so will result in immediate report to moderators
We do what we like and we like what we do, simple as that.

Will this kernel allow connection the Samsung Allshare Cast Dongle. That is the problem I am experiencing now. Also does reactivation lock work. I would like the added security.

It should be fine if you straight flash. You will want to flash your modems with Odin though. I'd recommend flashing if you are already in BPA1. Let me know how it goes if you try it.

I guess reactivation lock doesn't work, I'll look into it, thanks for bringing that to my attention. As for the all share cast I'm not sure at the moment. I'll test as soon as I can. Thanks

Reactication lock blocks you from using Odin again like for updates or if you just want to use something different.

Mainly just Verizon and Amazon bloat. Didn't really touch the Samsung apps. If its not there I'm sure you get it from the Samsung app store.

All 5.1.1 tw kernels should work. It's running emotion kernel right now.
hey @PaulPizz I cant find my apn settings anywhere since flashing the rom, would you be able to assist at all?
Do I need to flash Emotion kernel after flashing this rom or its not necessary? Am already on Emoton kernel now after bootloader unlock!
