Hello guys.
Please tell me which is the easiest way to root the phone ( model C6502 )
I found this link but i want to ask you if it's safe to do it this way.
http://www.oneclickroot.com/phone/sony-xperia-zl/
I checked this out, too, but im not sure the way how to do it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472
Thank you in advance
I tried many times to root the phone, unfortunately i couldn't.
Special thanks to user destroyedbeauty, he adviced my ( in PM ) step by step how to do it, but still no success.I followed the steps very careful.
When i tried to root, i didn't check USB Debugging & Unknown Sources.
Should i ?
Is there a way to install apps which require root, on the phone with no root ?
Below are the steps i tried to root the phone, adviced by the mentioned user.
I rather recommend that you install an kernel with pre-configed root access (Doomkernel / Advanced Stock kernel / XzK-kernel) by using built-in Fastboot in Flashtool. By doing this method, do this!!!:
1) Download kernel ZIP from specific kernel thread in "Xperia Z (Original) Android Development" thread section. Take anyone of these below, I also link Advanced Stock Kernel if you want complete stock Sony kernel with added init.d / root / recovery add-on / built-in!;
a) Xz-Gaming v1.0
b) XzK-Kernel v11.0
c) Doomkernel v19
d) AdvancedStockkernel
OBS!! Choice latest kernel from list in each thread for getting latest kernel that is optimized and made for your installed FW. Otherwise, problems can occur..
2) Extract boot.img from downloaded ZIP and put boot-file in Flashtool > Firmwares. After this, copy the same zip to your phone external / internal-SD card. Leave it there and continue read..
3) Turn off your phone and hold volume up, then connect phone to USB-cable. Keep an eye on LED notify lamp, see if it blinking blue - then you're connected in fastboot mode between phone and PC!
4) Open up Flashtool and push on the "Bolt-Button". Select fastboot, then go to firmware subfolder in your Flashtool folder on HDD and select extracted boot.img. Read log in flashtool, read it carefully. If everything seems to be normal, disconnect your phone and boot it up.
5) Go into recovery mode by either hammering volume up / volume down button and then choice "Install ZIP" option. Search after your ZIP file in recovery that contains boot.img and wifi-specific modules (critical for getting working WIF / Bluetooth!!).
6) After completed flashing, wipe cache and Dalvik cache (Dalvik can be found under Advanced section in recovery).
7) Reboot and voilá! Enjoy your custom kernel!
I only tried with "AdvancedStockkernel"
After step 4, the display stays black, nothing happent, no boot, no Sony logo, nothing.
I want to mention one more think : when i unlocked the bootloader 2 days ago, i followed this link :
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
It was successful. On the next step I was asked to write my email / imei / etc !!! Everything went ok.
After that, i tried to root and something went wrong, so i flashed whole .67 FTF in flashmode, again. Now is stock
Is the bootloader still unlocked, after i flashed .67 ftf in flashmode ? Could that be the reason i can't root the phone ?
Should i try again to unlock the bootloader, before i start again to root ?
Please help me guys.
Thank you

This would've probably worked without unlocking. It roots most devices with just one click.

I was able unbrick my phone and hope the method I used is helpful to others.
****Here's what happened.....******
Got the phone from T-Mobile had a lot of useless apps. Tried to root the phone all kinds of ways. Connected the phone to PC and opened up Flashtool. Flashtool did not detect the phone. I had to go into USB debugging and uncheck it off and check it back on, phone was detected and it says Root Access Allowed.
Installed Dual Recovery.. and installed the rom from zip. Rom instructions as follow:
Requirements: (Click on link below to get them)
1. Root - You probably don't really need this since this ROM itself also include stable and proper root package but most locked bootloader phones require root access to install recovery.
2. CWM/TWRP Recovery support - This is the real requirements. If you can access Recovery to flash this ROM, the rest should be working fine like root/busybox. Sadly you'll need either root or get custom kernel with recovery so you can forget root and be done with.
Instructions did not say install a different firmware, so I am thinking I can use my original firmware since the rom was based on a stock rom.
After installation of custom zip, cleared dalvik cache and reboot the phone. The phone bricked on me. All it did was cycle through the sony xperia boot screen and restart over and over again. I couldn't even get back to recovery(pressing vol. down on reboot) to restore my back up of my previous rom.
*****How I unbricked my phone*****
Remembered back in the day when I was flashing roms for on my previous xperia... I use Sony Companion Suite to restore my phone back to factory. Luckily it worked for my Xperia Z and now I am back with the stock rom.

I tried rooting my Sony V, but its ended up in disaster where the phone doesnt boot past sony xperia part and just loops.
I tried to root it via this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2090319&page=2
Through" Gasai Yuno" step by step instructions. I have tried to originally flash my phone using the"TRIMMED-LT25i-SOL21_9.0.F.0.195.ftf or the original LT25i-SOL21_9.0.F.0.195.ftf " but it turned out a disaster.
I managed to get the bootlocker unlocked but even that seem to have re-setted everything on my phone to default and deleted everything on my phone.
SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!
All I wanted to do was load this ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500671
Those instructions are for Android 4.0.4-based firmware. Obviously the phone will bootloop if you flash 4.0.4 over 4.1.2.
Use Flashtool to flash it to a proper 4.1.2-based firmware and get root using Binary's scripts.
You could also flash a custom root-enabled kernel using fastboot if you unlocked the bootloader.

Unlocking the booloader always resets all data, it's normal.
thanks guys really appreciate the help!
Any chance you can guide me in the right direction to a 4.1.2 based firmware?
This thread has FTFs for .140. You could just search the forum for "LT25i FTF" yourself, you know.

Ok I flashed it back to normal then I tried to install CWM Recovery through this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012738
Using this method:
"Installing CWM for the first time is as simple as:
Download CWM v4 installer for ICS if you are on Ice Cream Sandwich or CWM v9 installer for JB if you are on Jelly Bean, and unzip
Enable USB debugging and connect phone to your computer
Run install.bat/install.sh"
After that I tried installing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500671
But it failed and gave me error7 I think it was, so I tried to forget about the rom and tried reboot the phone back to normal but now the phone doesn't go past Sony on boot up, and I can't load up CWM.
PLEASE HELP!
Flash the .140 FTF using Flashtool once again.

Just for Information... Most flashable ROM zips do wipe the system partition before the actual install begins - as a result, your recovery (which is for locked bootloaders and thus stored on system partition) is also gone. Which means that on reboot neither rom nor recovery is present to be booted in.
So in the case of a broken rom zip or errors in CWM, it is important to either flash another (working) rom zip and the CWM-self-installer zip directly afterwards or restore a (hopefully) previously done nandroid backup.
Otherwise, you'll need your pc to setup your phone again ^^

My question is simple: will I lose root? Or any apps/data/sms/etc for that matter?
I just don't want to do all the stuff all over again. 12.1.A.0.266 is buggy but still is tolerable. >.>

Yes, you'll lose root if you update via OTA or flashing stock.
However, I think OTA does not wipe data, so you'll probably have your data. Do back them up just in case (can't remember since it's been a while since I last update via OTA ).
If you want rooted .201, install either of these roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704312
(v1.1 looks and works like 201)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658043
(v2 is a much "improved" version of the above)
I have installed the first one and loved it.
A few days ago I installed the second one and loved it even more.
Whatever you do, do a nandroid backup of your .266 (and preferably, add titanium backup of your apps and data/sms/contacts)
my mobile vibrating only after reboot!!!!!
My mobile was a rooted onewith .266 verson and i was trying to put the new rom and screwup!! ias you told i installe i downloaded the new rom v2 and super user, and dual recovery files... i ectracted from sd card all as you tol one by one ...while reboot...i saw sony logo and vibrating freequently only...not opening....!!!!!!!!!!! i tried to reset..same thing.....screwed up?!!!!!

Yup - screwed up somewhere in the process but no worries.
The process is almost the same way you got your .266 root.
To get new root and recoveries:
a. Flashtool - choose .257, then follow prompt to hook in your usb cable while pressing the Vol-down button
b. Once complete, close flashtool, unplug your device and reboot device
c. Once loaded and past the minor set up, turn on usb debugging and check "unknown sources" (all under settings)
d. Assuming you have all adb drivers installed (through flashtool installation), hook up your device to the PC and install Doomlord's exploit V18 and recoveries
Install new root 201
Boot into recoveries and flash the said .201 rom+SU+recovery (all zip files) using TWRP. Make sure you wipe cache/dalvik cache/data first. After flashing the zip files, select reboot from TWRP, and let the phone run a bit as it sets itself up (android and sony) during the booting process.
Note:
Ultimate purexsp V2.1 zip is simply an update file (not the full rom) - don't flash this one yet.
Somewhere within the thread you'll find the V2 full rom <663MB in size (as seen in my ext SD card). Flash this one and ignore the other versions

Congratz and enjoy the new fantastic rooted rom!
Xperia Tablet Z 4.4.4 KitKat 10.5.1.A.0.292 Customized NCB and UK
Pre-rooted - Includes Recovery - Wiping is optional
For SGP311
** DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A DEVELOPER. I DO THIS AS A HOBBY AND SHARE MY FINDINGS IN CASE SOMEONE ELSE FINDS THEM USEFUL. **
** THIS WORKED ON MY DEVICE BUT IT MAY NOT WORK ON YOURS. APPLY AT YOUR OWN RISK **
Requirements:
Flashtool 0.9.15.0 or higher
Rooted SGP311 (on any other previous Android version) with custom recovery (i.e. XZDualRecovery) installed.
Previous firmwares up to 4.4.2 can be rooted with towelroot.
If your current Rom doesn't have recovery, follow step 10 of this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53063218&postcount=14 with tablet in USB debugging mode (step 4 of the same post).
This works on locked or unlocked bootloaders and any customization.
This ROM is pre-rooted and comes with recovery. Other than that it is identical to stock rom.
Download links:
SGP311 10.5.1.A.0.292 Customized_NCB https://mega.co.nz/#F!A5k3jB7K!S6pviwMzrWST5X1T6YKZRw
SGP311 10.5.1.A.0.292 Customized_UK https://mega.co.nz/#F!Zs1jgKzT!_1rWE5r7XSEhJe541a8crg
You only need the zip and ftf files. The txt file is just the checksum if you want to verify that your download is error-free.
Instructions:
0- Backup before you start messing with your tablet!
1- Put system.flashable.zip in /sdcard of your tablet.
2- Keep SGP311_10.5.1.A.0.292_Customized_XXX.ftf on your PC.
3- Disconnect any USB cable that may be attached to your tablet.
4- Reboot to recovery. Preferably to TWRP, but you can make CWM work too.
5- Do not wipe anything.
6- Once in recovery, flash system.flashable.zip.
7- It is important to TURN OFF the tablet after this step.
8- Find and use the Power Off option in the recovery and turn your tablet off. In CWM based PhilZ Touch it is under "Power Options" -> "Power Off". In TWRP it is under "Reboot" -> "Power Off". If you see your tablet rebooting, force it to turn off by pushing the power and volume up keys simultaneously and wait for the white LED to blink 3 times (or however else you can!)
9- Open Flashtool 0.9.15.0 (or higher) and click on the flash icon. Choose flash mode.
10- Navigate to where you have saved SGP311_10.5.1.A.0.292_Customized_XXX.ftf
11- If you do not want your any of your current data to be wiped uncheck all the items under the "wipe" section. My recommendation however is to wipe.
12- Now flash this ftf with your tablet in flash mode. To put your tablet in flash mode, make sure it is off, then hold the volume down button and then connect it with the USB cable to the PC.
13- Reboot. You are now on rooted 4.4.4, firmware 10.5.1.A.0.292.
Battery Drain Issues
Please note that, according to Sony, any firmware shipped with Google Play Services version 4.4.52 has a battery drain issue ( http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...-Drain-issue-Workaround-Fix/m-p/708273#M42303 ). This problem has been known since around June and surprisingly Sony has not updated the Play services in this firmware. To avoid battery drain please update your Google Play Services as soon as you are done flashing.

I only put the files together. All the credit should go to XDA's [NUT] and DooMLoRD and many others...
I've Just upgraded from 10.5.1.A.0.283 without any wipe. All Ok!!
Thank you very much ,it worked again perfect !

you can download .ftf with XperFirm and make prerooted out of it with PRFCreator.
any idea if this also works for SGP312?
My Z3compact is in continuous lopp after I installed theme from here.
I slready have rooted my phone by this method
Since after booting after the theme installation phone is in continuous loop.
TWRP was accessible and I did all sorts of wipes: dalvik cacche, cache, internal memory and everything but still same. Now I even lost twrp as well and my phone is booting like hell and hell heated up as its battery isnt removable.
USB debugging is also disabled.
I want my phone back to normal.
How to repair it?? Can I directly flash a new firmware via FLASHTOOLS???
PLZ PLZ hlep me...
You have to push volume UP and power buttons to turn it off, and yes, you can install firmware via flashtool. Just download a stock .ftf and flash it!
search for the right version firmware (D5803 or D5833) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706 , download it and follow instructions on how to flash it
Thanks a lot guys.
When I rooted my phone following THIS thread in step 27 to 33 I created a pre-rooted fw, so can I flash that directly or only stock will work?
I'm ok with any as far as my phone functions properly.

If you don't have access to a recovery anymore (TWRP, Philz or CWM), you must flash via flashtool. You have to flash a .ftf file not a .zip. I think you can also use the option "repair" in the PC companion tool.
I flash default firmware using flashtools and phone was back on track.
Within trwp what I did was erased system as well hence may be phone lost the whole OS.
Now I rooted again and back as ever.
Thanks all of you for prompt help.
