Most likely people should stop worrying about device support because most likely if your device is not on their support list you can either port the ROM yourself or Most likely people on xda will make ports for your device most likely I will be doing this on the HTC Rezound B&N Nook Color (1st gen) Kindle Fire (First Gen) and the LG Optimus Zone

Correct - the list of devices was the ones already done or nearly done. There's a whole load more that will be supported.
Guess the Vibrant will just collapse

Not all devices will be supported, I guess.
My device, for instance, has a very tiny community and the only custom ROM we have is stock-based. Of course, I tried to port CM on it, but as I have no skills in development whatsoever, I failed.
Also, I'm not criticizing anyone. It's a device not many people have, even though it's a high-end device. It's just not sold worldwide.

as doctor_droid said, I do have an Asus PadFone Infinity.
not a very well known device, in fact.
I'm currently working on porting CM to the Padfone 2, porting the Padfone infinity should be pretty much the same as the Padfone 2, if you want you can message me and I'll give you details on how far I've gotten and I should be able to help you.
Once CM is ported it should be pretty easy to port Omni.
PMing you.
BTW if you remember from PadFoneClub, I'm the one who built CWM for the Infinity.

As the title states we maybe getting official Jelly Bean for our Droid 3, since it says most 2011/2012 devices. I don't see this being an issue with the dual 1GHz core maybe an issue for the lack of RAM.
What do you guys think?

This. It's been stated that most any device with 512MB RAM will NOT officially get ICS/JB (with 1 or 2 exceptions I believe/non-moto devices). I think at the very least phone companies want devices with 768MB RAM to upgrade to ICS.

I highly doubt it, the reason they are doing the $100 upgrade offer is because as they said not all 2011 devices are capable of running JB, or at least a bloatware filled version of it. The $100 upgrade offer is for the Droid 3 and Droid X2. If they get all of their other devices upgraded to JB by the end of the year then I will have some new found respect for them as its only just been recently that Google has made some changes at Motorola.
I wish you wouldn't use such a provocative headline as if you know this is a certainty.
I've seen that news clip from the Motorola presentation, and it would be great to get JB
but its still uncertain whether XT883 will be included.

Back in February, Motorola released a chart with names and dates that told us when each of its Android devices will be getting upgraded to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. Unfortunately, it seems the company won't be able to keep its promise for all the announced devices.
The updated chart now showws that the Motorola Atrix 4G, Photon 4G and the Electrify do not qualify for the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade and will remain on Gingerbread. Other devices remain unaffected, with perhaps some minor changes in dates at most.
Our lovely tegra 2 brother Motorola atrix 4G won't have ICS .and i really feel sorry for them. So is there any possibility to happen this with us guys ? what if lg cancel ics too ?we will stuck in GB!

The nexux S is on 4.1.1 and i can still see it receiving 1 or 2 major upgrades. If google can just take control make the os for every high end(1Ghz or more) phone and put it on their website it will truly be amazing. I read somewhere that they are trying to do that.

I have owned a ton of phones over the last 5 years. Apple is probably the best quality, but IOS blows. After the for quality Motorola is the best choice IMO.
They may have dropped the ball with the previous Atrix models, I work for AT&T and the Motorla spokesperson guy came in to review the Atrix HD with us, picking one up myself today probably, said they're rolling out Jellybean for it soon...Wether that means this year, or 2 years from now, who knows...but he said they WILL be updating it.

Hi All, bit of a random question but I'm considering getting a Nook HD+ in exchange for my Asus Transformer tf101 which I've had for a little while now. My plan had been to make sure whatever I got next was an officially supported Cyanogen device or at least has a decent level of developer support as I've had bad luck with companies giving up on their devices just after I buy them.
Is the HD+ official? Worth the swap?
I think i could pritty much do a straight swap money wise and I've loved my Nook Simple touch (rooted of course!)
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk HD
The is no "official" ROM/support from Cyanogen for the HD/HD+.
Ah okay so it's just for the colour and nook tablet then?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk HD
Indeed, yes. There is however unofficial support for CyanogenMod here at XDA for the Nook HD and HD+.
To find out the full list of officially supported CyanogenMod devices; check out CyanogenMod's site: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/index.php?title=Devices# (you may need to click "show all devices" besides the filter).
Regardless, even those devices which are officially supported - not all of them are updated to the latest version of CM. For example, the HTC Wildfire is still stuck on CM7 and I doubt it maybe updated to CM10.1.
I will add though that running CM10 on my HD+ emmc is running flawlessly for me, and I consider it more than worth my upgrade from the Color. I don't know why it couldn't be an official release with the solidity of it. I don't really know Cyanogenmod's procedures and determining factors there.

Motorola (even in spite of being under Google's control now) will pull the same crap they did with the Atrix 4G and Photon: they'll keep saying "future plans" or "coming soon" or "we'll let you know" and then they'll just drop a bomb as they already did and say "if you want KitKat, go buy a candy bar or a new phone..."
Sad but more than likely true.
It really pisses me off since Google is pushing KitKat with marketing-speak that professes it runs great on non-top-tier hardware with as little as 512MB of RAM and a dual core processor, and yet with a device like the Atrix HD which covers that (dual core 1.5 GHz + 1GB of RAM) they'll just say "It's not gonna happen so get over it." I know in the long run it would be AT&T's decision whether to do it or not, but it's safe to say that no, we'll never see an official 4.4 update for the Atrix HD. Hell, I probably won't get one for my LG Optimus G either, which truly sucks.
/me hates it when companies do crap like that...

AT&T doesn't even factor into us getting stock better than 4.1.. We have more carriers than just AT&T, not many, but we do -- Atrix HD already has 4.1.2 stock, where AT&T Atrix HD is only 4.1.1. Also, rumor has it that AHD Bell is running 4.2....almost makes me want to flash Bell JB just to run a system update on it....almost. If someone does flash B 4.1.2 and gets an update, don't install it, notify us so it can be ripped and made into a rom first. Don't want to accidentally f**k yourself out of an unlocked bootloader.
Remember that as long as ANY device of the razr-msm8960 family gets better than 4.1, then all the other devices essentially get it.
I know I'm saying att personally sucks at updates as your post just confirmed lol.

To be fair to AT&T, Motorola is/was just as bad. Look at the Bravo, Defy, Defy+, Milestone 2, and a few other similar phones, between the 4 the biggest differences are 3 different camera modules, a hardware keyboard, the below screen button layout, and maybe some slightly different sensors....Moto released the Defy+, which is the exact same as the Defy only clocked to 1ghz and had the red lens camera module (OG Defies had 5mp cameras, but some had a red lens module and the other green, Milestone had red 5mp, Bravo green 3mp).
Now on the custom scene, Bravo and Defy use the exact same sources other than camera and, I think, some proprietary lib differences. Milestone is the same other than the hardware keyboard additions, and maybe some more...been a while since I've messed with that platform.
Bravo latest is stock froyo 2.2.1 (there is a 2.2.2 model around)
Defy is froyo 2.2.2 (there is a leaked 2.3.4 GB)
Defy+ is GB 2.3.6
MS2 is GB 2.3.6
All these phones could have easily been updated by Motorola, but its easier to not update them and make us get new phones.
Stock Bravo is the worst stock experience ever, and my first Android. Four hours in and I was rooted and on a custom rom, BravoX.
They all run CM10.2 thanks to Quarx and many other talented devs.
What's funny is I bet ya that more than half of XDA's members are here because of the Manufacturer/Carrier release fiasco that always happens. If they didn't want us messing with our phones then they should give us something that doesn't completely suck, like our Stock ICS...Other than TB, governor type crap, etc I could use that without root any day of the week and be happy with it.
