vac and zalignx in CM - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallo guys,
I allways used vac and zalignx in my old ROM (HarshJelly 2.2).
can I use them in CM, too?
Now I´m on CM 10.1 (nightly from 28.9.).
In HarshJelly the tools where integrated. Can I use them in CM? Is it usefull in CM?
And how about CM10.2? Will they work there?
Can I simply copy
vac
vac2
zalignx
zalignx2
zipalign
from the HarshJelly (based on Stock4.1) zip-file to my \system\xbin? -->> SIMPLY DID IT!
Tested in terminal:
- vac (seemed to vaccume the DBs)
- zalignx (seemed to zipalign the apps)
Then I started all apps. They seem to work.
Rebooted -> everything fine.
I don´t know if it makes sense in CM. But it works.

great work danne_jo, finally Puzzlerom with 2.1 was released.
however, as a newbie on Android phone, I wonder is there any point that make me flash 2.1 instead of 2.2 ?

So it isn't froyo ? Isn't it?
No, the title says Eclair, so it's Eclair.
Great 2.1 rom
A short feetback:
+ LauncherPro (i removed it cuz i use ADW)
+ LWP support (LauncherPro+ADW)
+ Sense ROM
+ App2sdext support
- No patched Market
- No news+weather app (genie widget)
- old YouTube apk
I didnt checked tether, but its using the latest HCDR_Jacob kernel (no tether + if i remember correct w/ aufs (system r/w access)
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Installing now. If this works as well as 7.3.1 but with the added extras then you are an absolute genius Danne_jo!!!.
Love your work!!!.
Just tried to install, got stuck in a boot loop...
Will try again from a complete wipe & factory reset.. I can always restore my user apps from titanium Backup
Anyone got a link to the latest youtube.apk ?
edit: did a nandroid restore, (prev 7.3.1) wiped cache from recovery, then re installed all worked fine..
Installed nice and easy for me after doing a Full wipe. I like the way live wallpapers work in Launcher Pro but wish it were possible to have htc clock with weather on Launcher pro. No wireless tether ans don't know what the transaprent proxy thing is for.
Track ball unlock seems to work when it feels like it.
I have the same prob with the track ball, it work fine if you turn the screen off and the recover, however if you let it turn the screen off itself sometimes it struggles to resume with the trackball.
This was an issue with the overclock kernal with 7.3.1. However you can use the power button to resume with this new rom. Although its annoying, but it aint a major problem.
Overclocked to 760Mhz ?

ROM | x91WGx's Gigglebread Edition | v4.0 | Android 2.3.4 | Based on 310511-2041

Development has stopped, no longer own this phone.
Welcome to x91WGx's Gigglebread Edition!
Disclaimer:
Code:
Please note that this ROM is based on an UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod7 build, named Gigglebread.
It contains cherry picks and fixes by non-CM7 devs.
I decided to make this ROM as it was suggested to me that Gigglebread appears to be better than the official CyanogenMod7.
I do not agree nor disagree on this, but I did get motivated enough to make this ROM.
Once again:
If you are looking for my x91WGx's Gingerbread Edition ROM v3.1.2, then you are wrong here. Please go here.
As I was saying..
This ROM is based on the unofficial CyanogenMod7 build Gigglebread.
It has the same features as my Gingerbread Edition, but is based on a different build.
I just posted it here for the people that prefer Gigglebread over the official CyanogenMod7, but like my (so far not that many) modifications to the ROM.
The ROM currently holds:
- Latest VorkKernel by Benee & Kiljacken
- Libsqlite.so patch by Benee
- Quicker GPS fix in Europe
- Updated BusyBox (1.19)
- Customized framework (icons, battery percentage, notifications tab)
- The following apps:
Terminal Emulator, Browser, Calculator,
Calendar, Camera, Contacts, Desk Clock,
Email, File Manager, Gallery 3D,
Google Sync, Gingerbread Keyboard,
ADW Launcher, MIUI Music, MMS,
Pimp My CPU 2.7, Rom Manager,
Sound Recorder, Spare Parts,
SuperUser, Market, VoiceDialer,
Google Talk, Volume+.
Installation instructions:
0. Boot into recovery
1. Wipe Data/Factory Reset when coming from stock/another custom ROM! not needed when coming from an earlier version of this ROM
2. Install zip from SDcard >> Choose zip from SDcard >> select the ROM.zip file
3. Let it install, when done, reboot!
Changelog:
v4.0:
- Based on Gigglebread 310511-2041
v3.1:
- Updated VorkKernel to 310511
v3.0:
- Based on Gigglebread 300511-1348
v2.0:

Another my port mod MIUI dark theme. Separated thread from my previous MIUI 2.3.9 port rom because this rom supposed to be my last full MIUI Rom for this device and the next version should be only an OTA port update or upgrade patch, so the size to upload and download will be smaller than full rom.

You can see the features I've added and also things which working in this rom, there are some different with 2.3.9.
And for MIUIv4, I can't port it right now because no kernel support the camera yet. Camera is mandatory for my phone. Badly... I'm not kernel dev. So until now, I just play around with gb miui with more features works and fit enough with me.

CK superb work as expected. Had the luxury of doing a full wipe install of this release. Could'nt ask for a better ROM.
Not sure why you have written last ROM !...hope you can continue your good work in the upcoming releases also.
Couple of points
You have mentioned that Carrier name has been corrected for Indonesian and some Indian carriers. I am still getting unknown. Please guide me how and where have you incorporated this so that I can manually add the Indian carriers and check
Guess you would have used the Miui DHD release for this port. I observed there was a fmradioserver in system\bin in the DHD rom. Any luck with the file (or they have always been around and we still need to figure out else where for our device )
Thanks once again and hope you will continue releasing a MIUI update atleast once a month.
cacingkalung,
from the screenshots alone I'm already hooked onto MIUI wanting to flash this ROM. currently I am on Maclite ROM with UC kernel, 2.6.32.9, do I need to flash to a stock or something before flashing?
I read the first post on step by step instructions but this is my first time flashing to MIUI so wanted to make sure I didn't screw up.. what would your steps be to flash this ROM, from a nandroid backup, full wipe, and then..?
Thanks in advance for the ROM and I hope to be using it soon! Good job!

For performance, actually I don't care about score as long as I can feel smooth and not laggy any time .
I've tried a little between mOCk and SD on 3D gaming, I can say mOCk work better then SD, with SD there is some lag while mOCk is smoother. But the phone is not too hot with SD. I use the same minimum and maximum cpu clock with the same governor for both.

It's not my last rom, it's should be my last FULL GB MIUI rom. The next release should be an OTA update for this version (not full rom but update package), and so on (hopefully ). So we still can taste updated release without download full package of rom. And yes, hopefully I can continue to upload the update .
I've include some Indian carriers to, but may be I got non updated list of them that's why I was needed the list of it. I took the list from a web, and may be your gsm carrier code not listed yet. I took it for Indian carriers code from http://www.gsm-security.net/gsm-operator-codes.shtml. if you have an updated list, please let me know. To add the list, you should decompile the framework-res.apk as I and FR discussed in FR thread, make change and recompile it.
For the radio, I've not continued yet.

Consider to backup all apps using titanium backup.
Here the steps to flash it from Maclite:
1. Get in to CWM
2. Install update zip file (this update zip rom)
3. wipe data
4. reboot ( the first boot will take longer )
5. Wait about a minutes after MIUI came up
6. reboot again ( this should be much faster than the first boot )
7. Welcome to the dark MIUI...!
If you have backup all apps using titanium backup, set the SuperUser to accept root ( in Superuser app, press menu and tick ON Root ). Than install titanium backup and do restore apps.

[MOD] Modified NfcNci.apk to poll while screen is on and locked

I have modifed the default polling mode of the NfcService.java to poll NFC - Tags even when the phone is locked.
!! It is made for CM10.2 and AOSP JSS15J !!
To install move the old NfcNci.apk from /system/app to a save place and then just copy and rename the right version of the modified NfcNci.apk and change the permissions to 644.
This is my first android development, so this may not work for everyone.
[UPDATE]
Version CM10.2: tested with the unofficial build 02.08 - 04.08 and is working fine.
Version AOSP JSS15J: tested
[UPDATE #2]
add update.zips, saves the org. NfcNci.apk to NfcNci.apk.bak
[UPDATE #3]
Version for AOSP JSS15J also work with JWR66V

What does this do?
The mod change the standard polling mode. Normal the phone must be unlocked to detect a tag. With this mod the tag is also detected when the phone is locked and the display is on.
Just to check, the screen still has to be turned on, right?
Yes screen must be on.
I know it says that it's for JS, but I thought I'd ask, just in case... does this work on JW too?

I made a quick test with the JWR66 version from fireb33 (Nexus 4 JB 4.3 JWR66V stock v3) using the update_JSS15J.zip
Seems to be working, TAG get polled when Screen is locked.

So I just replaced my NfcNci.apk file that came in the ROM with the CM10.2 version in the OP and the ROM boots without error. Don't have an NFC tag on me at the moment to make sure it works properly, but no errors so far is a good sign!
EDIT: Just tested the CM10.2 APK version out on the PACman's alpha 4.3 build and it works great.
Hi!
Could you please create a package for 4.4 KRT16O?
This would be really great if soumeone would offer this mod for KitKat

Already have a modified version for CM11 (KRT16O) created and tested.
Unfortunately, I am currently on a business trip. I'll upload this version as soon as possible.
Added Version for CM11 4.4
LG chgamauf
Here's a patched NfcNci.apk/NfcNci.odex for Stock 4.4.2 (KitKat)
You need to copy BOTH files to /system/app, then change permissions for both files to 644 and delete dalvik-optimization from previous version (rm /data/dalvik-cache/[email protected]@[email protected]), then reboot.
Without NfcNci.odex it takes several seconds for your device to switch from "screen off" to "screen locked".

Hey all,
added a version for CM11 4.4.2 and also an update.zip for CM11 4.4.2
Both versions are tested and work fine.
Have a nice day.
LG chgamauf
I noticed that with every update the modded apk ist overwritten.
As there is nearly every day an update for CM11 nightly, ist there any possibility to hold the mod even for the update? Or any kind of script, which installs the mod automaticly, so i have not to move the file and edit the permissions every time?

Haven't tried them on CM11 but you can always give them a try and let us know if they worked or not.
(I used search to find those links, you can too!)
Which one
Hi, guys,
Could you please tell which one of update files suits stock 4.4.2 build KOT49H?
Thanks
Finally got around to flashing a KitKat ROM (Mahdi ROM). The NfcNci_4.4.2.apk worked fine with it. Thanks for the update!

[UPDATE #4]
Version for CM11 4.4
[UPDATE #5]
Version for CM11 4.4.2 testet on Nexus 5 Experience - CM11 Based Version with CAF kernel
[UPDATE #6]
add update.zip for CM11 4.4.2

Hi,
Would you mod the LgNfc.apk from LG G2 so that I can use the NFC while the screen is on but locked? Or mod the app to compatible it with NfcLockScreenOff Enabler from Xposed?
It will be realy great and kind of you!

Ameisentaetowierer, is this APK to be used with the Google stock KitKat Android (4.4.2) with build number KOT49H?
Thanks!

[May 23] Omni Based ROM

Summarized Standard Disclaimer: use at your own risk.
This is a continuation of omni rom from @mcgi5sr2 To make this ROM, I've fetched sources from all across xda from nameless rom for the device specific stuff, to omnirom for the base rom, cyanogenmod for enhancements, and boeffla kernel for kernel enhancements. Very few of the additions are actually mine.
**Notice** This is not official omni for several reasons. It has quite a few cyanogenmod enhancements. The omni team is not fond of cyanogenmod and whether you are or note, you have to admit their additional features are useful. SELinux is disabled (permissive). It has caused me nothing but annoyances since I first installed fedora core 7. It's been more trouble to me than it's worth. If you want it, I will NOT be accepting pull requests for it. Please compile it on your own. On my desktop and laptop, it is fully disabled at the kernel level. (I compile the kernel manually for both to boot without an initial ram disk.)
Cyanogenmod enhancements include:
CM12 File Manager
CM11 Calculator (uglier but much more functional)
CM12 bash shell
CM12 nano text editor
CM12 discontinued Koush su
CM11 forward ported custom host name
CM12 music volume long press music control
CM12 ad hoc wifi detection
CM12 camera power shutter
CM12 open ssh utilities
CM12 trebuchet
CM12 custom app notification light colors
CM12 battery light on/off and custom colors
Boeffla kernel enhancements include:
Back/menu key backlight working and DON'T light up on every screen touch
1.7GHz cpu oc
Undervolting
GPU 5 step
GPU sysfs support
GPU overclocking (by sysfs)
My own personal touches aren't that long:
Jellybean style toasts
Disabled selinux
(Other additions more applicable to P7510 (galaxy tab 10.1 1st gen rom)
Not working / never tested:
Plugging in the charger while off probably causes something weird
Not sure how SuperSU will react since Koush su is built into ramdisk init scripts
First time flashing MY omni 5.1.1
Make titantium backup (highly recommended)
Get twrp
Flash twrp (if not already done)
Reboot into twrp (if flashing twrp)
Make recovery backup (I usually don't)
Full wipe
Format system
Install rom
Install gapps
reboot
install adblocker (very highly recommended)
Subsequent flashes
Install ROM
install gapps
reboot into rom
reapply adblock
The gapps backup recovery isn't run as it caused problems on my other rom at some point so I've never reenabled it since then.

Nice. Since you've included some of boeffla kernel enhancements, do you have plans to add boeffla sound?
Great work btw. ??

Ah, cool. I'll try it out as soon as I get some free time. ?
Will try ASAP, Boeffla sound would be a hell of a good thing, as personally, the only thing which makes me kinda off CM12.1 is the lack of CM12.1 NG Boeffla's kernel ^^
(Greetings to lord boeffla and you anyway )

Um...just fyi, there is cm 12.1 ng boeffla kernel. Here: http://boeffla.df-kunde.de/sgs3/boeffla-kernel-cm-ng/cm12.1_download/Test/
Supplied kernel comes with boeffla sound.
Want to give it a try but have to ask first, no theme manager?
Cool stuffs.
Looks to me that you've made the right choices in building.
nameless kernel ensures compatibility with existing custom kernels. As well as being the most functional stock kernel (but that;s just a guess)
DSP Manager FTW (no audioFX bs)
All hail apollo. so much simpler that that new CM thing
CM file manager. That's a solid file manager.
And so on.
I always loved omni more than CM, stability/speed wise (feature wise, CM wins). But i changed from Omni to CM with Archidroid. This makes me wonder how omni is performing now.
Just out of curiosity, when we flash a custom kernel like AK or Boeffla, we would be able to toggle Selinux right? Or did you exlude all selinux rules from your rom?

Flashing any custom kernel that changes the ram disk will break root. The root startup daemon is started by an init script. I don't remember touching any of the policy files but they haven't been updated since I forked the nameless repo. I would have to say it's "try at your own risk".
Also, 1 thing I forgot to put on the first post is that the CM12 custom notification light colors per app has also been ported.
----------------------------------------------Added--------------------------------------------------------
And yes no theme manager. I didn't try to port it. I first saw the theme manager in CM7.2 but never really used it.

Got also BootLoop when optimizing Apps...
Does this rom support 240 DPI resolution ?
(even changing this value in build.prop won't cause weird issues ? )
just booted it thanks . for the rom !! will see how it reacts

then i flashed TWRP recovery ".tar " file also through ODIN .
then installed the .zip files of this rom on my sd card ,
entered into TWRP recovery mode ,
deleted DATA - DALVIC - CACHE
installed from sd storage ..
flashed it . then LP .GApps . ..
Rebooted .
and thats it i didn`t encountered any failures .
If you did ? well i will recommend flashing Stock rom n then trying this one with twrp:good::good:
