Can you also give us screen of the battery usage.
Seems like the phone is going into deep sleep mode alrite.
Have tried enabling STAMINA mode?
Give us a screen of WLD with full battery usage. this is 2hrs in. WLD only tells us the wakelocks. not what apps are actively using the phone. i.e if you were playing say ex.FIFA for 20 mins that wouldnt show up here as it is not causing a wakelock as the phone is actively being used.

okie I did a full recharge..
disable auto sync, birghtness to low, stamina mode on [which shows 4 days 21 hours for 100% charged..it should be way more right??]] ,etc
just played a video for about 5 mins
and was trying to put On data connection (internet) for like15 or so mins...[internet wasnt connecting]
and phone was on standby for like 30 mins..
for this usage phone lost 12% of battery.. is this normal? if this goes on..it will reach 0% in about 6-7 hours...

hi there, hope i can help you
when you said that internet wasnt connecting, is it because you have no internet plans or you didnt have internet coverage? if the latter, i guess that's the main problem, as your hh is retrying connection all the time and not knowing you have no internet coverage..
in my xsp, battery drains to 0% in abt 12 hrs, with medium gaming use and full network connected (no wifi).. in wifi it goes longer, about 1 day

I have internet plan but somehow ticking on data plan for many times, there was no data connection
I've finally switched to other network (company)..
do you keep 2g/3g On in background all the time? i mean even when you are not browsing.. keeping it on just so to get notificaions if someone sends a message on whatsapp/fb?
so under these circumstances, how much long does battery holds?
any other customisations/settings done?

Looks like your battery drain is caused by your phone trying to connect repeatedly IMHO
That 12 hrs is the time with mobile data fully on and no stamina mode.. With stamina mode the battery holds longer, like 18 hrs..
Currently i'm experimenting with llama profiles to imitate stamina mode without losing the led functionality

Is Battery life really short?

Hi Everybody,
I am using my HD2 since 2months and I share with you the general Idea that Battery life of 1-2 days is not enough for a device with the ambition to serve as phone as well.
I am using the device for professional activities: document sharing, webcalendars, emails on the go... but with an internet access not contiguous, since I only want my mobile to donwload mails when I
am not at home or in my office (were I have more professional stuffs
for that).
So, I installed the WMLongLife to Switch off communication interfaces whenever not used.
However, during last couple of weeks it happen to me to work prevalently at home and in my office, without the requirement to use the network from my HD2.
Accidentally I noticed that if I charge the HD2 and never use internet services (but only as a phone: 5-10 calls per day), the battery life magically goes from 1-2 days to 1 Week and more.
Is it normal? Maybe some device is not properly shut down after first use?
Now I charged my mobile on thrsday morning, and after 5 days of use I have still 42% left.
I wish to share your opinion, and to know if there is outside a better software than WMLongLife to preserve batteries when high speed connections, BT and Wifi are not used.
Thanks a lot
It's a phone with a massive screen, bluetooth, wifi, 3G and the list could go on...
I myself, is amazed that it can last a day.
Using it with constant 3G, bluetooth, GPS back and forth at least once a day, e-mails ticking in all the time, bluetooth headset and so forth...
The HD2 is like a small laptop...
- try getting a laptop run a full day on a battery the size of the HD2s.
1 week and more? Wow....
I fully charged the phone last night around 12AM, now after 13 hours most of which is standby, 1 hour of music, and maybe 30 minutes of browsing/playing with it its at 70% battery life. Is this normal?
I dont get 3G and I have wifi and bt off. Any other ideas to conserve battery?
The HD2 is as good, if not better than any other smartphone I've owned. I always recharge my phone overnight, so as long as the battery's good for a day I'm happy. Any bigger battery and the phone would need to be much fatter to accommodate it.
A week sounds pretty optimistic to me.

You could try and turn down the brightness of the screen for one...
I had mine on 100% for the first couple of days, but it just ate the battery like that. Then changed it to 70% (almost can't see the difference) when it's on battery, and that helped a lot!
Then you should perhaps try and download BsBTweaks or something like that, and activate the "power save" option...
Something to do with the SD card or something, not sure...!?
But to be honest, I think it's pretty decent.
13 hours of stand by, 1 hour of playing music and 30 minutes browsing/gaming - and still on 70%.
You have to remember, it's a very powerful device and as such it uses a lot of power!
Again I confirm,
charge this morning is still 25% left and yesterday I used internet connection for 15 minutes, then switch off devices and a soft reset to stop eventually pending drivers.
I do not use HD2 for listening music or playing films: only calls, contacts, synchronized agenda with gcalendar, emails, and internet.
Previously I noticed that after using even once the internet connection (without the soft reset), battery last at most 36 hours.
That is why I suspect some processes/services be pending in background and draining battery low.
Again I am not trying to demonstrate the life of my mobile is longer...
... Just noticed that there are some operational conditions that may prevent higher power drains and to understand if someone else has investigated the point.

I do the same!
Check email one or twice a day. 5/6 calls a day. Wmlong life on. Don't care about 3g... it's set to be in automatic. Some excel and word files. Some sms. It's incredible that such a powerful device can stand by so long!
Otherwise when I use it for work, wi-fi, bluetooth, gps and bla bla, the life of the battery is about 12 hours... but who cares?
9% this morning but still alive with phone interface working...
Do it exists for WM6.5 an extended taskmanager (AKA in the windows style) that can also reports for processes and spent CPU time?
I can barely go a full day and have to charge it at night.
Is anyone else getting really poor battery life? I have Wi-Fi on a lot but with screen off just so it automatically gets my push e-mails. Could this be the reason?

[Q] Please help with my battery life!!!

Hi guys, I love my SGS, but the battery life is killing me!!
I've tried 3 different ROMS, but all pretty much the same. I'm now on the 'official' JP6 / JPM. Phone is rooted, and One Click Lagfix running.
Display is set to minimum.
I sync an Exchange account using push. I've turned off gmail and facebook sync.
Using LauncherPro.
Basically, I unplug the phone from the charger at around 7am, and by 5pm it is dead!!
!!
Any suggestions!?

1: change your push-settings for exchange to 30 mins or an hour ( i did too , its better )
2: buy a extra battery
3: bring your charger to work
4: stop playing non-stop with your phone
to sum it up. we cant tell you what u are doing wrong with the small info u gave. you dont give % of battery usage ( liek 60 % display, 20 % standby etc )
all in all, i can say atm. stop push-mail
( i have same prob , i just leave my USB charger @ work lol)
root it again.
Also set phone to 2g mode rather then 3g and install juicedefender with nobars too.

2g relly eats less that 3g. But i'm use both + wifi at home + look a flash video, get rss every hour and phone lives 36-48 hours on one standard battery. Maby your battery is dead. Replase it

Do it this way:
Make the phone empty.
Charge it all night (8 hours + ).
While still charging, open applictaion: Terminal Emulator (it is available on the market for free)
Write:
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
it looks like that nothing really happens, but it does.
Reboote the phone. Important!
You will see the difference. I get from 1 day before to 3 days now.
For doing this, your phone, of course, should be rooted.

eh?
what would you like as a proof?
sure if you live under the antenna consumption may be the same, but 2g is much less processor intensive and has longer range.
so your phone works half as hard in 2g than 3g (both idle and on line)
with just 2g and only using phone features i can go 5-6 days
same usage with 3g goes down to 3 days
and that is with having mobile data off in both cases
2G eats muuuch much less battery. I didn't have 3G for a few weeks, huge difference in battery life.
I use Juicedefender just so that nothing goes on with my phone while the screen is off, only update rss/weather/sync when sync is on.

Can anyone confirm if this method works?
(On a side note: I'm looking for someone who can help me flash Korean firmware onto European phone so I can get "record call" feature. Thanks)
I manage to get 3+ days of battery time... I have data connection inactive, no syncs, and using a black theme Battery life just improves over time, after like 5 or 6 cycles of charging.
I've had my phone for a little less than 2-3 weeks. While my battery has gotten better with a few full discharge/charges, I still haven't reached those insane battery life times that some have had the luck of having.
I've done the full discharge method a few times. I've also done the "charge (on), unplug, charge (off), turn on for a few minutes, turn off, charge (off), method twice.
I have juice defender to set to keep everything off and only connect for 1 m every 15 m. I have root, but I've removed lagfix.
Yesterday night, I slept for around 6-7 hours. My battery life dropped a full 40%!
Here are my battery usage stats:
Display 44%
Cell Standby 20%
Android OS 14%
Phone Idle 13%
Android System 5%
I'm wondering if my phone or battery is defective and I should ask for a replacement?

Hey, try the 5min evey 2hours, that's what i have and i don't have any issues.
Obviously something is wrong. THis happened to me before, it was because of FB and google sync as well as the widgets constantly synchronizing and using mad data.
Welcome to the SGS.
Typical usuage for my SGS:
0800 - alarm used to wake me up.
0805 - disconnect from charger - full battery
Sync: K9 Mail - once an hour, headers only or messages less than 2Kb.
JuiceDefender: Data connects 5mins every 30 mins, otherwise 3g radio or wifi is deactivated.
Average time on 'phone calls: 10 mins.
Wireless use in work: 20mins max
3G/2G usage: 20 mins.
Brightness set to lowest setting.
Doing the above will empty a fully charged battery by about 1800, or usually sooner.
9 hours of use until empty, when the 'phone is predominately on stand-by.
The wireless and 2g/3g data radios are a real killer. With the data connection of, then I can watch the whole of the Avatar film on the device, and even have some power left over from some 'phone calls.
Solution: Don't use the SGS for data while not running from the mains power. It'll save the battery.
So, don't use the SGS for business. Its an expensive toy that pretends to be mobile, because really one it tethered to an electricity socket. Welcome to Android 'phones. Other than the lag that causes the 'phone to be unresponsive for a couple of mins, I like the device.
check your apps, I used to use widget locker and it'd drain about 30% a night. I dropped it even though I used to love it, I think they pushed out a bad update 2-3 months ago and never made it better.
Hrmmm, I don't have any out of the ordinary apps running. I've made an effort to check all apps and ensure they don't auto sync/auto - update or do so very rarely.
Apps I have:
Juice Defender
AutoKiller Memory Optimizer
Facebook
Whatsapp
Yelp
Uninstalled Tango
Uninstalled Samsung Apps
SMS Time Fix
The rest of my apps are either stock or don't use internet
At some point I shall do a factory reset and start again.
* In most phones when switching from 3g towards 2g will result in +1/3rd increment of batter-life
* Extra launchers(UI) will play a lot with your battery, best is to have only one running, not TW along with launcherpro
* Turn OFF the gps cos i noticed, by keeping it on, that it's a huge drain on the batterylife.
* check apps and be sure none will run in the background with adds (remove them with an add remover)
* flash to jpk and root with oclf, many complain about their roms, but after 130 apps and a month mine is still working splendidly, with maybe and just maybe the lagg once a week. (could be titaniumbackup at that moment)
downloaded a thing and send a few messages and it's at 85% atm, that's after +6 hours of use. (it was at 98% after 4 hours with a few uses)
Ok guys, Dark Steel JP6/JPM, hardly any apps, 1 Exchnge account.
I took the phone off charge at around 10am this morning, now at 6.30pm, down to only 16% left!!
Stats:
Display - 77%
Cell Standby - 17%
Phone Idle - 6%
I don't get this, the battery life is awful!! I've hardly used the phone today. Display brightness is set to absolutely minimum. 30 second timeout, and hardly used, so the screen has hardly been on!
Apps I have:
Flash 10.1
SetCPU
Remote Desktop
LauncherPro
Smart Keyboard Pro
ROM Manager
SGS Tools
Spare Parts
Plus the normal Maps, Navigation, Flash.
GPS Off. 1 Exchange account set to Push. Gmail sync turned off. Bluetooth used for around 30 minutes.
Please help me!!!! I've tried 3 different batteries by the way, so it's not that!
How many charge cycles does it need to sort itself out after deleting battery stats (deleted via clockworkmod recovery)?
Thanks!!!!
Your phone idle is only 6%, something is stopping the phone from sleeping. Give us the reported times for display, idle, e.t.c

[SOLVED] Battery issue

Hi,
I have my Xperia T since 3 days. If I keep data and WiFi always on, after 10-11 hours battery dies. On Arc I had it always until bedtime. I noticed that Google plus eats a lot of battery when uploading pics in the background. I also noticed a very strange behaviour: if I reboot phone the battery is drained 3-5%!!! I tried this several times and always the same. Do you have the same? I am on 303 firmware.

Hi
My xperia t lasts a day no problems I think you may have a faulty battery
You can check your apps to see it any are draining the battery. Make sure your screen brightness is reduced to manual low also turn off 3gnetworks go to 2g edge uses less battery.
Start charging the phone at 20% to 80 max afew times to reset the battery
The point is that I want 3G and WiFi on all day like I had on my Arc!

Well, after 4th day it improved. I am not sure it is because I made the cycles or because I updated yesterday to latest firmware (.195). Anyway today, after 12 hours of moderate to heavy usage (more than one hour calls, more than one hour bluetooth music in the car, wifi and data always on, email, etc) I am on 28% so safe until I go to bed!

Xperia SP battery issue?

Hi
I think I might have an issue with the battery on an xperia sp which I got a few days ago. When idle with stamina on it's loosing between 1-2% per hour. I've used Gsam and recorded some stats to show what's using up the battery when the phone is not in use. Hope it makes some sense
loosing ~2% per hour phone in idle screen off
Stamina on, GSM only
Tried airplane, not much difference
Tried Stamina off, no difference
Charged to 95%
61% @ 10:16PM
34% battery use - of that
screen 56.3% (1hr 47min)
phone radio 6.5%
wifi 3.7%
apps 33.3%
TOTAL DRAIN ON BATTERY
-------------------
19% screen (avg 0.18% per minute)
2% phone radio
1.2% wifi
11% apps
____________________________________________
13 HOURS IDLE LATER - 17-20% BATTERY GONE
____________________________________________
44% @ 11.04AM(QUICKLY DROPPED TO 41% in around 2
minutes)
51% battery use - of that
screen 49.8% (1hr 48min)
radio 13.1%
wifi 7.4%
apps 29.6%
TOTAL DRAIN ON BATTERY
-------------------
screen 25.4% (WHY THE INCREASE of 6.4% when OFF all the time?)
radio 6.6% (+4.6%)
wifi 3.78% (+2.58%)
apps 14.8% (+3.4%, not sure why, stamina turns off all apps?)
6.4 + 4.6 + 2.6 + 3.4 = 17%
Why are these using up so much power in idle with stamina mode on?
Hello,
remove your simcard, reboot, got in to flightmode and let Wifi enabled.
now let phone unused for 8hours. its all Ok then accu should drain only 0,05%/h.
This is my XSP which i use only as alarmclock an every day 1 hour as Musicplayer.
I have tried without the sim card but it didn't do anything.
I notice in your screenshot though that there is no connection to 'mobilfunknetzsignal' ... mine is there even when the sim card is out, how did you get rid of it?

You must enable the flightmode under "settings->network->more" .
and then please install BetterBatteryStats to see if you have wakelocks and your device go in to deepsleep after turn of the screen.

Ah yes.. I tried flight mode one night and it still lost 15%
I have also used wakelock detector and it says phone is in deep sleep 99 percent of the time but still the battery is draining 1-2% per hour
Right now the battery is 27% down from 44% 2 hours ago... and I have hardly used it. I'll recharge and try again without turning screen on at all and see whats using it up.
Is there any explanation why the screen used 6.4% of the battery overnight when it was off all the time?
I'm too having about same problem..and am really interested in answer/solution,,,
Please, anyone?
I think I have fixed it but not sure. Phone was charged 24 hours ago to 99%, now its 94%. Definitely not using alot of power with stamina mode now but the screen was only used for 5-10 minutes, I've yet to test if it acts the same after screen has been used for a long time before going idle.
What I did was run phone setup again and update all apps
Now 88% after 40 hours, screen on for 25 minutes. Xperias battery monitor and gsam show completely different usage, android system takes up the majority in the xperia one but only 10% in gsam (under apps)
I checked wakelock detector and something called 'syncloopwakelock' was on for 4 and half hours. Is there any way to disable this? I already have auto sync in settings turned off.
A phone is meant to be used. Using it only from time to time to have as much standby time as possible is just a waste of a good phone.
I can get two days with heavy use. A lot of music, whatsapp, facebook and XDA Premium app..

I know, but there was a clear issue before as the battery was draining 20 percent overnight reducing the time I can actually use it. I was getting 5 hours screen on time one day, and only 2 hours the next. Just trying to make sure it has stopped, seems like it has
Would like to solve this syncloop thing though. I have no interest in syncing any accounts as I don't use them.
Simple fix
Change your rom, stock rom eats so much battery and has so many bloats, apps keep running in the background all sony apps.
MIUI is on jellybean and it gives me average of 1 day 20hours on normal use with wifi always on and sim card inserted..texting call and stuff
Problem has returned, woke up today to find battery under 50% and it was at least 75% when I went to sleep. Wakelock detector doesn't show anything and says phone was asleep all the time. Sony's battery graph though shows the phone was awake most of the time, but I can't find the cause in GSam or wakelock detector.
i think i have a idea. it can come from WiFi. there is a bug in all android 4.1. Set Wifi to allways on and deactivate/delete LocationBasedWiFi app from sony.
you can found it with BetterBatteryStats under Process.
Some screenshots
in this screenshoots the problem is not shown. When it comes from WiFi driver it is not a app that drain the accu, but a process.
The Line with awake in history details you can ignore, its buggy in 4.1.
I have searched through everything in Wakelock Detector and only process I found with alot of time is syncloopwakelock which is 4.5 hours. But this was already about 4 hours when battery was 85%
If I buy BetterBatteryStats will this show the problem? As you an see it drained at slow rate for 2 days then suddenly started dropping faster yesterday. I made no changes to Wifi settings, it is always on ... and I use Stamina mode.
Yes BBS will show the problem as "wifistatemachine", if the error should really be come from. you must not buy it, search on XDA for apk.
but if it come from your syncloopwakelock then i can not help.
Holy crap
I charged the phone to 96%, used it for 30 min (down to 92 percent) then went to sleep. Woke up and it was 28% and kept dropping !!! I've checked BBS, Gsam and I can't find the cause... again. After uploading these SS its at 12 percent.

a71 battery drain on standby

I have 2 a71's, bought like 1 month apart, few month old now. one that is mine is making me crazy, it is using about 5-8% of battery during the night. that usualy means 7 hours of sleep, everything on the phone off, just the network on so i can get a call if needed. i keep it at 3g network because i get a full bars, 4g on my provider is too weak. 8% during 7 hours of sleep means 25% of battery or 1/4 is lost during 24h period and i cant figure it out why.
other a71 is my gf's, she keeps it at 4g with half bars and also everything else off during the night and bastard looses only 1-2% overnight
i tried changing network modes but no effect, i have gsam battery monitor and accubattery to monitor stuff and they show nothing that stands out, no apps or wakelocks..
so any ideas? what else can i try besides usual stuff, killing all apps, turning of wifi, turning off data..?
one thing that i didnt yet try is deleting huawei health, gsam showed that it used like 0.1% of battery but also that step counter is active whole 7 hours it was asleep
thanks for any ideas, i am sure something will be helpfull
Strange. But im here to fix it for you so first you need to charge your phone to 100% after that open the phone app and type *#0228# a menu should pop up now click the button and continue after that the phone should tell you what the actual battery % is , after that open galaxy store and install galaxy labs open it and click galaxy app booster install it and click boost let it finish and restart you phone now it should not use that much battery (7-8% per night how u said or smth like that) and i suggest you don't let your phone charging all night just charge it while your awake and the battery should last a long more atleast thats what i do and it works. If i helped you don't forget to like my response.Have a nice day
