Case with a Built In Screen Protector?

Hi, I am getting the G2 for Sprint in about a week, and I was wondering if anyone has seen a case with a built in screen protector, and if so how they like it? If not, what's the best accessory you've seen?

The only two cases that I know of that have "built-in" screen protectors is either the Otterbox Defender or Ballistic SG MAXX. Both of these cases are for heavy duty protection and so they will add bulk. These are NOT slim cases.

my friend had a waterproof case for his iphone. Ill try to find the brand of that. Its not bulky too.

I was not able to find one of these that will fit the Verizon model. I like the looks of the case, at least the one that has the belt clip with it.

Otterbox Defender is available for all LG G2 variants including the Verizon model. Go onto Otterbox's website and you will see a separate link that redirects you to the Verizon variant page.
Both the SG Maxx and Otterbox come with belt clips. However, I think you can only get the SG and not the SG Maxx for the Verizon model.

Yes I have the Otter Box Defender for my G2. I am just not happy with the issues with the Defender Screen protector. I have removed the screen protector and put a new one over my screen.

On the Ballistic SG Maxx, the screen protection sucks.. The touchscreen is just UNUSABLE.
Is the Otter Box Defender have a Built-in screen protection, or is it a film to stick on the screen?

Looks pretty good, I assume it will cover the entire screen since they call it HDT-c (High Density Tempered Curved).

My assumption based on the page is that the edge is curved. Wouldn't put too much hope in full coverage.

Taking a second look at the site... you're right, it appears to be the edge only.
I guess it's impossible to have a well-fitted full coverage screen protector for our phones.

What's difference between feather and ghost? Just thickness?

Seems to be that way... for the GS4, it lists feather as 0.15mm, no thickness listed for ghost.

I hope the ghost will be case friendly.

i don't care about covering up the logos, and i really don't get why doing that is a big deal. makes no sense to me imho

It made the phone looks like some chinese cheap fake phone.......

I just ordered the ghost... From looking at the note 3 forums everyone loves theirs. And one guy's screen cracked and mime sent him a new one with free shipping...

Also, I've already broken one G2 screen. I really don't want to drop it face down and break another, You guys think this screen protector will protect the screen from shattering from a drop at a reasonable height, like 4-5 feet from the ground?

tbh - it depends on where and what it falls on.

A new screen protector lol.
The thicker the better for drop protection, but personal I just use a good case

Yeah, I was about to say if they replaced the whole phone then I would buy the case right now. But, anyway, just an FYI for anyone, I used this case Diztronic Matte TPU and I dropped the phone from about 4 feet above the ground. The phone did land flat on it's face. The side of the case was also popped off on the bottom corner when I picked the phone up. The screen was shattered though, sharp glass was sticking out and the screen wasn't responsive.
Just letting everyone who has that TPU case know what happened to me and why I am looking into buying a 'hard' screen protector for my new G2 now.

Damn just bought this case to. I normally get case mate cases. But there's no one for the LG G2

LG G2 Ballistic Maxx

Just ordered 2 Ballistic SG Maxx cases for the wife and myself. getting tired of the bubble in the screen protector on the Otterbox Defender case.
wondering if anyone has it and whats there take on it.
I paid $68.50 total with one day shipping and will be getting it on Saturday. hopefully im not too dissapointed as i never was with ballistic.

I have their gel case on my vs980 I really like, my girlfriend has one on her HTC one as well. As far as the SG maxx goes. I know people with one for their iphones and its a pretty beefy case but they like it a lot. Let us know how it works out for you!

Post pics if you can, im also thinking about going to the SG Maxx or a Trident case(would like the Kraken just dont have it for the G2) I just dont like the gap between the actual screen and the screen protector.

will upload photos as soon as i get it but usps messed up my order. its stuck in Oklahoma for about 4 days now. its supposed to be here on the 21st. late late late. one-day shipping is bogus with usps, they are garbage deliverers. sorry just frustrated with USPS right now.

I have the case myself, and due to the floop top and buttom, it makes the screenprotectors fall off. Pretty sure otterbox should hold them down better due to not having floppy top/buttom.
But I still love my case. Fixed it with a tiny piece of tape at the top and buttom just on the edge, so the case didn't lift them up!

i will find out if there is any issues with the case tomorrow. hopefully there is none cause i really hate the otterbox case for the g2 cause the built-in screen protector is not flat on the device it has an arch. im giving my otterbox to my wife and ill be using the ballistic.

get the ballistic sg maxx its awesome. everything fits nicely in the AT&T variant. screen protector works without issue. feels good in the hand. im verry happy with this case.

my case has no issue with the screen protector. make sure you have it on the right way. the soft sides go over the lip of the screen protector. i have no issues with slipping or fall outs. its in there pretty good.

I have the Verizon version and have had no issues with my Obliq screen protector so far. The case is a bit bulky, but that's to be expected when choosing one for higher levels of protection. Normally I would have gone with an Otterbox, but a Verizon version wasn't available until recently, so I went with the Ballistic and have been happy with it. The hard shell has a bit less grip to it than an Otterbox, but it isn't too bad. Also, the Verizon variant has protection for the volume/power buttons on the back, while it looks like the Verizon version of the Otterbox leaves the buttons exposed.

Ballistic is a better option than the otterbox. ballistics's screen protector is flush with the screen as otterbox is arched over leaving an air pocket. i actually find the ballistic thinner than the otterbox. and way nicer.

The Maxx case includes protection flaps that cover the charger and headphone ports kinda like Otterbox Defender cases and comes with a holster. The regular doesn't.

Ok, thanks, becasue I'm thinking of buing regular one. How do you think, this is the best protection on the market in terms of protecting phone from broke digitizer when falling? Because my g2 fell from 30 cm and now is in lg repair

The Maxx case isn't available for the Version version, only the regular Shell Gel case.. not much of a differences unless you really want port covers and a holster. The regular should do fine.

I haven't used the Ballistic case for the G2 but I had one for my Optimus G Pro. It was definitely thick and offered great protection but I never dropped that phone with the case on it before. It should hold up pretty well considering how thick those corners are. I do however have lots of experience with Otterbox cases. I've dropped phones in those cases on concrete a bunch of times and the phone always came out flawless after but they're so ugly for this phone I ended up with a Spigen Slim Armor case. I've dropped it a few times on carpeted floors and it's fine so far but no accidents on concrete yet.

Sorry, I didn't know there was a Maxx version. I have the Verizon version of the regular one without port covers. The bottom edge is a little loose due to the cutouts for the USB, speaker, and headphones, but it isn't too bad. Otherwise, it fits great.

screen protector and holster clip.
today the screen protector is making me mad it is not responding to double tap. so in my experience a few days with the case you start running into issues with screen protector.

Anyone, please post some pics. Hated the otter box air pocket, really interested in this as an option

sorry i havent posted pics yet will do so when my wife gets here tomorrow. i finally got my screen protector working again. i love my case and phone again. dont think about it just get it,it honestly feels a lot better than otterbox. otterbox has more bulk than ballistic. my opinion....buy it, its worth it.

Which one is the most protective case out there?

I'm planning on buying a G2 (I have a 4X HD now), but even before buying it I'm more worried about buying a case that will protect the phone against most drops. My first though was Otterbox, but I read here many people saying that the screen still cracks easily in it.
I remember breaking my Galaxy S2 screen before even buying a case, so I didn't took any risks with my 4X HD (unfortunately there aren't that much cases for it). So now I'm asking you, I don't really care If it makes my phone really "bulky". Protection over all.
And that was all mates, I hope you can give me an answer.

What ever case you choose make sure it fits you model, some fit all models while other brands have a case for verizon and a different case for other carriers. I am using a Trident Cyclops (which fits all carriers) and I couldn't be happier, great blend of protection and price. As far as not breaking the screen I haven't found any case for any phone that guarantees that.

Diztronic TPU case is pretty good for the amount that you are paying for.

I'm using the amzer hybrid case and i'm loving it.

sg ballistic maxx. no regrets. a bit bigger than the phone but best case. you can get it on ebay for about 25 and it comes with a holster and thick plastic screen protector. my wife and i have it on our phones since the day we got it.

It's a really nice case, but does the silicon layer attract dust? I had once similar kind of case from Seido which attracted a lot of dust on the silicon layer.

yeah, it's a bit of a dust magnet but tolerable. Besides, its a rugged case so i wouldn't mind some dust on it

Can I ask if the plastic of the screen protector doesn't give you a bad experience with touch screen ?

I tried the Trident Cyclops cover but the plastic of the screen protector is so rough that I decided to remove it and use instead another screen protector for LG G2.
Now I have the Trident Cyclops cover in which my LG G2 fits perfectly with not his built in screen protector but another screen protector and it is very good.
It looks like if the Trident cover was built with that screne protector I am very happy with this solution but I wnat to know also your opnion in the use of touch screen for activity like the texzting , surfind, knock on/off etc.

No bad experience. When i switched G2's thats the only time i had problems. But eventually tje protector worked out. Try for yourself its great

I recommend panzer glass screen protector it's a bit expensive but very protective and clear. It can be bought from smartfast.dk and shipped internationally. Event if it's cut a bit smaller than the actual screen it covers the display and doesn't attract lint.

I am using a Otterbox commuter but the defender will have what your looking for I just don't like the sensitivity of the screen protector with the defender so I use commuter with film screen protector I think I'm one of the few people who still like invisashield or xtremegaurd. FYI if you do decide to use a film xtremegaurd coupon right now is 90off2 makes it 2.20 cents for two on there website

That's what I have on mine. It was free when I bought it. Doesn't reach the edges but has a nice feel and being free made it a little better lol

It was part of the promotion they were having. I traded in a 4s and 5c and got my wife a iphone6, me a droid 64gig, glass screen protector for me. Her a case, glass screen protector. A wireless charging pad and 2 more chargers. Out the door was 201. And 100 off my bill. And even though he said I wouldn't be able to, for some reason I kept unlimited data. I was ready to loss it but it staid. It took almost an hour to transfer my wife's stuff, Apple issues lol so a lot of hook ups to apologize I think lol. He kept adding stuff as we waited. Very good vz rep! =)

I picked up the flexible glass screen protector from Verizon for only 17 or 18 bucks. Its crazy thin and had the believe its actually glass. I do wish the dimensions were slightly bigger and that it it would fully extend to the edges of the phone's screen. Its not a bid deal with the defender case on, it covers the remaining unprotected portion.
The screen protector was easy to put on and had no issues with touch sensitivity by its self. I also have a defender case too, but found that with the screen protector and the defenders plastic one it was a bid much and the touch sensitivity was bad. I peeled off the defenders plastic one and it works just fine now.

Just got this glass screen protector yesterday and its awesome! Just hate how it doesn't cover from edge to edge.

Looks like Zagg is making a glass one as well, according to someone on AndroidCentral.

WTF? How in the world did you keep unlimited data? I paid full retail for the damned thing!

I purchased the moto x (2014) glass from Verizon and it fits perfect on the turbo. I wanted really tempered glass and not the thing flex glass.

Are the edges rounded or squared? I would think your finger would catch a lot with the capacitive buttons

only time my fingers catch is when trying to use google now short cut but with google launch very rarely use the swipe up from home key

In another month there will probably be 40 different kinds out there. I had the one from VZ but it made certain areas of the screen not respond as they should with the otterbox defender. for instance to pull down the top menu to see notifications would take 3-4 tries. The defender already has a screen cover so I took the one off from verizon. Works perfect now. I will probably try again with a Zagg.

Xtremeguard has released the spartan glass now.
