Hi,
NFC in my HTC One suddenly stopped working. I can no longer detect any tags or cards, that earlier had no problem with. I used, reading tags, writing, tags, Android Beam, now nothing works. Of course I tried rebooting phone and I checked in settings if NFC is enabled.
Do you have any ideas what might be wrong?
And it starded working again... suddenly. I don't know what it is about.

I think Android Beam is not included into Sense ROMs. Anyway, on my HTC One the NFC icon is shown on the status bar when it is enabled (I'm using Android 4.3 stock).

That seems strange, OTG has always been working for me!

Running 2.3.3 here and just installed widgetoids to get the toggles in the notification dropdown area.
All works great through the widget on the home screen but when added to the notification tray in options it doesn't do anything when I click one of the toggles except close the tray.
Anyone got this to work successfully?
Would really appreciate it if anyone could test this for me as I'd love to have it working properly.
used it while ago and it worked perfectly... when its on the notification bar and you press it it's not like CM7 power controls for example... instead there is a pop window showing up with the controls and there you switch the controls on/off.. used that when i had Axura ROM on my device..
There's an option to turn that pop-up off though and just have the toggles in the notification area. This is what I'm trying to achieve.
I know the app can do it as it works perfectly this way on the incredible s from htc.
Ive turned it off but then nothing happens, I guess its not compatible with 2.3.3 yet...

Thanks for testing. Seems that may he the case, in which case its really nothing more than a glorified power control widget.
I couldnt figure out what is this icon. I did a reboot and it is still there. I checked the Manuel and it is not there... any idea what is this.

android beam. you can turn it off by clicking on NFC in notification tab, or adjusting it in settings

It's the NFC icon when you press it twice in the notification bar. It means that android beam is on.
Thanks guys. Must have miss clicked it while talking.

it gets auto-enabled when you flash a new kdz or do a factory reset ^^
Hello guys,
I'm using Paranoid Android v2.21 on my Ace. It has a few bugs, but it's okay in almost every aspect.
My problem is, that after some layout changes (tried out tablet, then phablet then changed back to stock phone UI) I'm having a weird issue. When I turn on or reboot the phone I get a blank icon on the right side of the notification bar just between the wifi signal strength icon and the vibrating (silent) phone icon. I was wondering what it could possibly be and finally found out that when I open my stock clock app and turn on and then off one of the alarms it disappears. Turning the alarm on makes the blank icon reappear. At start it's always there even though my alarms are off. I'm not sure if thats an app or rom issue since the clock is a system app.
Any ideas? Maybe try to overwrite the clock app with one from another source?

well you can ask for it in the thread
Edit: DONE!
Really confused on the icon on the left, I'm guessing it's some kind of headset on notification? Not sure what the one on the right is either. Also if anyone could provide steps to remove them that'd be great
Not sure about the one on the left but the one on the right is the NFC icon. You can turn NFC off in settings and the icon will go away.

Alright, figured out the one on the right is NFC. Still at a loss for the other one though.

Is that somewhere under accessibility or sound?
Edit: found it, settings>call>hearing aid. Thanks for the help!
Neither.
Open phone app (like making a call) menu/settings.
About halfway down you'll see "Hearing Aid". Unchecked it.
Should be gone after that.
Edit: Happy to help.
What is this strange lock shaped icon in the status bar and how do I get rid of it?
