4.4 kitkat - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys!
I just have a simple question:
If google is really going to announce 4.4 kitkat this friday...how long will it take to be ported to HTC One? Or will the google edition be updated officialy the same time like nexus? How long does it normally take for cyanogenmod or any other rom to update to new android version?

Don't be surprised if the GE rolls out the same day as legacy Nexus devices... last go around it was 1 week... it won't even be close to a month

Any developers making a ROM based on 2.3?
I ask cuz I saw that 2.3 was released.

You must be mistaken, Gingerbread has not been released yet.

Dec 16th is when Google's next big boy is released. At least until then, no Gingerbread!

Ics 4.0.1 source code

Yay!!! That was unexpected!
Original Post https://groups.google.com/group/android-building/browse_thread/thread/4f85d9242667a85f?pli=1
Setting up the source tree http://source.android.com/source/downloading.html
From Jean-Baptiste Queru-Hi! We just released a bit of code we thought this group might be interested in. Over at our Android Open-Source Project git servers, the source code for Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is now available. Here's how to get it: Follow the instructions at http://source.android.com/source/downloading.html Check out the 'ics-release' branch:repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b android-4.0.1_r1 That's it! However since this is a large push, please be aware that it will take some time to complete. If you sync before it's done, you'll get an incomplete copy that you won't be able to use, so please wait for us to give the all-clear before you sync. This is actually the source code for version 4.0.1 of Android, which is the specific version that will ship on the Galaxy Nexus, the first Android 4.0 device. In the source tree, you will find a device build target named "full_maguro" that you can use to build a system image for Galaxy Nexus. Build configurations for other devices will come later. Unfortunately we still don't have our Gerrit code review servers back online. That remains our top priority though, and we hope to have them back soon. This release includes the full istory of the Android source code tree, which naturally includes all the source code for the Honeycomb releases. However, since Honeycomb as a little incomplete, we want everyone to focus on Ice Cream Sandwich. So, we haven't created any tags that correspond to the oneycomb releases (even though the changes are present in the history.) JBQ, on behalf of the AOSP team.

From what I read on the net, the first phone to possess sense 4 is codenamed HTC Ville, and will come out on April.

Will we ever get Jelly Bean?

There are a decent number of ICS ROM's for the Incredible S but the only stock ICS ROM's are Playground ICS(Development has been stopped) and IceColdSandwich( No new updates for about a month). There are quite a few Sense 4 ROM's as well but honestly after using stock, I can't go back to Sense.
Official support for CM9 is a long way off, so I don't expect CM10 by this year
I wonder if any dev has started working to port JellyBean onto our device?
Desire HD has 4.1 so likelly IncS will do too..
Need Jellybean
Right now waiting for the Project X Rom of nikhil...
but Yes this device really deserves Jellybean.
I have seen few thread for jellybean on droid Incredible.
May be Devs are already working on the Jellybean port to the Inc S..

Help Me Find

Hey XDA,
Looking for a rom STOCK, that has sense 5.5 and jelly bean 4.4. If there is one out please link it to me. Thanks
There's not one available yet. As more people get the update we're more likely to see it uploaded.
I'm also waiting for this as I don't wanna have to flash one of the ROMs for the stock ROM to then be available not long after
Edit - You mean 4.4 KitKat, not JellyBean
