I have a question if anyone has the time because I ran into an issue earlier. I unlocked my HTC One when it came out and have RevolutionHD 10.1 on it and have left it that way. I made a Nandroid backup today and downloaded Revoltion30. When I installed the ZIP everything goes ok but it looks like my phone is not in developer mode after; holding down the volume key and power down get me to the initial menu. When I hold power down and volume for a long time I can get back to the fastboot screen. Is there a step I'm missing to make this work?
Have you tried using adb (be it "adb reboot recovery" or "adb reboot bootloader") ? If, for some reason, you do not want to do this, go to Settings -> Power and disable Fast boot. Should fix it !

Hello, just installed the leaked sprint hero 2.1 rom on my phone. The rom works okay except that I have too restart my phone every time someone calls me or I try to call someone. This is rather annoying and now I would like to revert back to 1.5. I created a backup with nandroid but I can't seem to restore it properly. I have installed fastboot and followed the directions on how to use it with nandroid but fastboot.exe doesn't execute because it can't find the adbwinapi.dll file. I have this file (along with fastboot) both in my System32 directory and in the android-sdk/tools directory so I don't knowwhy fastboot can't find it. Is there any other way to restore with nandroid?

hmm the recovery screen has alot more than that....your 100% positive your holding the home button and then pressing power (while keeping home pressed in)
positive i wish i had more options. Also, my computer won't even recognize that my phone is plugged in when I'm in recovery mode or the bootloader.

Clear data sounds like the bootloader.
Try this. Power off the phone. Hold down the HOME button. While holding the HOME button, press the POWER button. Wait for the phone to vibrate, then release the HOME button.
That should boot straight into recovery (if recovery is installed).
I think if you hold the home button too long, I think it will go into the bootloader menu.

hmm i know when i hold home and end key for short second it asks me to clear all data or end ... wat i do is hold home + end for a long time until the ra pops up
This sounds like a rooted phone without a Recovery Image flashed on there.
Did you Root the phone first or just install the leaked Rom RUU exe file?

I rooted my phone and then installed the RUU exe but since then I have wiped my phone does that mean I have to root my phome again?

I'm not sure. You probably still have root since the RUU is rooted, but you probably have to go through it again to get the recover image on there too. This is where my level of expertise ends.
Finally figured it out!
Turns out when I flashed the RUU rom I lost my recovery screen but I manged to figure out how to get it back.
This is how to do it

Have a macbook. Installed ADB. Using TWRP I installed HTC Dumblock, which then erased the internal memory (as expected).
I tried to sideload a ROM through ADB. Sideload worked, hit 100%. The screen on my device was off, so I pressed the power key, expecting the display to turn on. It didn't. Instead, when I press the power key, the device simply vibrates (as though I pressed one of the hardware keys).
I do not know what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT 1: When I type in adb devices in terminal, it shows my device, as well as the term RECOVERY.
Edit 2: I was able to adb command force reboot recovery

What about adb, do adb commands work in TWRP recovery?
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
Hopefully that will get you to the bootloader to flash firmware or an ruu if one is available for your device.
Press the power button and Volume Up button at the sametime for roughly 20 seconds.
The phone will reboot.

So I thought I'd use the CM installer to load CM on my HTC One. Everything was going fine. My phone was on the CyanogenMod startup screen and the installer was still in the process of installing it on my phone but then suddenly the installer "Couldn't Talk to My Phone". And now, the phone still shows the CM startup screen with the spinning arrow, it's been like that since yesterday. I can't connect it to my laptop because my phone is not actually turned on (stuck on CM screen) so my laptop doesn't detect it. What should I do?

I'm confused. My backup is on HTC Sync Manager. I can't flash or sideload a ROM since my phone does not work. When I turn it on, I get the CyanogenMod logo and the arrow just keeps on circling. That's it. I can't do anything in Recovery Mode, there's a backup and restore option but I have nothing on my phone, it has been reset to factory settings. I cannot sideload since my computer cannot detect the phone since it's not really on. Keep in mind that I was using the CM Installer for Windows. I just want my phone to work again. I want to get rid of this CM.

Hello,
Well i am pretty much screwed unless someone can help me out.
I have my phone set to fingerprint lock screen. I performed the following command via ADB :
adb shell wm density 220 && adb reboot
the following message appears now because i think the DPI is too small:
"com.android.keyguard has stopped"
I do not have a backup - yes i made a big mistake.
My phone is not rooted and i would prefer to keep it this way for warranty. If i do not have any other option then i will root the phone but there must be something we can do to solve this issue.
Currently the phone is set to USB debugging mode but a message needs to appear for me to select "OK" or something for ADB to be used.
So the com.android.keyguard" message always appears and i cannot do anything else. each time i hit the OK button, and then the message appears again in not even 1 second. So i cannot get to the USB debugging mode and hit OK.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Can you get into download mode? If so just Odin stock firmware.

how do i get the phone into recovery?
I belive this is an actual phone ADB code adjustment that i did.... I need to someone undo what i did.
I need to some to format the phone and settings i think and then do the odin stock firmware install.
WHen i did what you guys mentioned above, the phone just rebooted back to its normal self without prompting any setup questions.
Take out battery put it back in. Hold down power, middle button, and up button until you were booting into recovery. Reset to factory there - maybe that works. Good luck

Flashing firmware over odin will fix what you did. Stop asking questions and youtube instructions on how to fix your problem. It's easier than coming back here and asking question after question.

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to say thank you very much for everyone support!
The fix ended up being a boot from safe mode i think it is called. (while phone is off, hold middle button, volume up & right button). I then proceeded to do a factory wipe and a partition cache clear. Rebooted the phone and it was back to a full restart. I now how to set the phone back up.
Anyone recommend a good app to backup the phone so if this happens again i can just run it in the "safe Mode"??
