disassembling sony dk31 - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to disassemble the charger to get only the magnetic cable? If someone done it and can help will be appreciate.

Ignore - I find a way to do it

Yes, it can be done. Seach "Sony’s DK30/DK31 charging dock can be hacked to use the magnetic cable instead" in Google, I can't post links

Connect your Diamond with mini-B USB connector

Hi!
I've tried out that Diamond can charge, connect and communicate with PC/Charger through a standard mini-B USB connector. (read more...) You do not need that special "one-corner-rounded" connector that came with your device!
I use a charger that I've got for my Bluetooth GPS and it's a bit quicker than the normal HTC charger (HTC: 0.5A, GPS: 1A). No adverse effect can be found on battery life. Heating from battery during charging is normal.
I attach a few images to be exact.
Use this plug with a caution that warranty might be broken if device get damaged with non-HTC charger.
Regs, Cina.
I must admit that i also use a regular mini usb cable which has the same connector as your one. didn't even notice that it was different from the HTC one.
Anyhow, connected it to my pc, so i don't think the amperage would be differen.t
You've posted what was long discovered in serveral topics
Hopefully that question won't be asked anymore, leaving more quality topics on serious unanswered items.
That was not a question, man!
OK, I found it discussed in Accessories. Thx.
No flame anyway.

[Q] Soldering pins in car charger.

Hello everybody, I read in a few post some time ago that if I have a 1000mah car charger and i solder something inside it, ti ahould make the phone read that I'M CONNECTED TO a wall charger instead of a car charger, so I can charge up to 1a...now I can't find any pictures or tutorial regarding this procedure, maybe somebody can help me?
Thank you
Basically data- & data+ pins need to be bridged together
pins 2 3 in diagram (4 pin female A)
You can also just mod a lead if you do not want to dissemble the car charger.

bridge cable data pins rather than charger pins is what I meant.
I prefer internal mod of charge units. Some charge units have data pins soldered into board some don't, easier on those with data pins left loose & you can bend them closer together & bridge them together with just solder or if gap too large a bridging wire or off-cut from a resistor leg or similar ...
i didn't feel confindent modifying the charger so I modified the cable joining the green and the white cable. After a while it worked showing "charging AC" insted of USB. thank you!!

[Q] [Question] Charging With Two Cables

Is it safe to charge the Z3 Compact with a magnetic charging cable and micro usb at the same time? Wondering if this could be an alternative to get faster charging since I can't find any Quick Charger in my country.
Use search. And this does not belong here in the General Section.
It shouldn't work. I think only one cable will work and I haven't seen anything against using two cables at once in manual. So you can try and post result here I guess.

Charging the Gemini when USB-C hub connected

Hi.
The USB-C Hub only works with the left hand USB-C port on the Gemini. So you cannot charge the Gemini with the hub connected as supplied (the USB-C port on the hub appears not to support power delivery back to the Gemini).
Does anyone know of a splitter or a hub with a power delivery port that will allow you to charge the Gemini with the hub connected? I do Powerpoint presentations with a USB controller, so am keen to solve this issue!
TIA
On a related note, I read in the quick-start guide that the right-hand USB port must not be used for charging the Gemini… but my question is: what happens if you DO try to charge it with that port by accident?
The thing is, the Gemini is very symmetrical, and especially if it's in its leather wallet it can be hard to tell one side from the other. Obviously I intend to be careful, but the possibility certainly exists that people may plug the power adapter into the wrong USB port. That's especially true if they haven't noticed the instruction not to do so in the quick-start guide.
So, what happens if you DO try to charge the Gemini with the wrong USB port? Do you blow it up and/or damage it irreparably, or does it simply not charge (with no harm coming to it as a consequence)?

I've made that mistake on my batch 1 Gemini twice and no ill effects of using the wrong port.
