Battery saving tip - LG Optimus 4X HD

Guys i would like to share with you a good battery saving tip, I Downloaded 2 applications that made my phone get twice the battery i used to get.
Go ahead and download wakelock detector and greenify apps. Wakelock detector will help you identify which apps continuosly wake up your processor and this is what mainly keeps your phone from deep sleep which means continuos battery drain, once you identify these misbehaving apps you can either do 2 things:
1. Uninstall those apps
2. greenify those apps(root required). This is very useful because this app allows you to hibernate the activities of the apps you want to control. This gives you the chance to manipulate apps and free your phone from constant battery drain.
For me Facebook app is the worse and heavy battery drainer so i keep it greenified. Just by this i get around twice the battery i used to get.
I hope this helps, i know there are many of us that have complained about battery life in this phone. In my case the phone was not the problem but poorly designed apps.

Hey
Thanks for your effort to give us those tips but if you'd search you'd see that most people know about this.
And BetterBatteryStats is even better than Wakelock Detector

i use greenify and one power guard . and battery hold too much

Let me know how it works out.

[Q] The best battery saver for xperia Z??

I am using go battery saver??Any one recommend any other??
Actually, There's no such thing called battery Saver I believe. The battery back up depends on your usage pattern. However you can try this app from Google Play.
It requires root though, many are saying this reduces the background battery consumption of apps by hibernation.
Greenify
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en
+1 for Greenify.
Just a note though, do not go crazy and hibernate absolutely everything like some people in the app thread seem to. Use something like Better Battery Stats or Wakelock Detector to identify badly behaved apps that hold wakelocks and hibernate them.
Everything else can and will be handled by Android's memory management

Exactly! Knowing about the bad behaved apps is the most important fact. Better Battery Stats can certainly do that. Once you know, you can control the battery issue easily. :good:

I chose Juice Defender Ultimate. With some customization, location managed Wifi and 30 minute period of 3g, my zperia Z runs about 2-3 days (no gaming). I recommend it!
Stick as close as possible to stock if you want decent battery life. I've used two custom ROMS on my Z so far but the battery drain was unbearable so I've come back to stock, with about 5 build.prop edits and that's it.

I've got the UK Unbranded ROM installed, as for the custom ROMs I used I'd prefer not to point them out so I don't get in to any arguments.

I dint use stock very long in order to tell you if battery better, but ussually stock comes with bloatware that constantly connect to the internet, thats why battery sucks with it.

[Q] Terrible Battery Life?

Hi, I have had my HTC One for a good while now, and I have been hopping between roms to try and find my favourite. I have just switched from GPe to InsertCoin. I have been getting what I think is very bad battery life on every rom I've tried (stock, GPe and InsertCoin) that I can't explain. Is this a software issue or is there something else happening here?

Indeed it seems a terrible battery life, but I bet you didn't let the ROM settle. If you continously change ROMs you'll get bad battery life, you should keep the ROM for at least 3-4 battery cycles to get an idea of battery life. Another suggestion I could give you is charge it while turned off, sometimes the phone shows it's full, but actually it isn't. Leave it till the light turns green, turn it on and than another half an hour

Yes I understand what you mean about letting it settle, and I probably should have mentioned that I have had bad battery life while staying on GPe for several months. I saw the same thing I don't understand: Android System using about 80-90% of battery in the battery usage even though I was using the phone and there seemed to be no long wakelocks...

how can you change your battery?
though you can update your firmware to the latest
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Every once in awhile I notice unusually big battery drain. it is almost always one app or another, not very easy to spot, it takes some amount of trial and error. my flow is:
have BBS at the ready, ideally your phone rooted and ensure BBS has root permissions. measure battery consumption at night, during the day for at least several hours. check the culprit app in all tabs, sometimes BBS doesn't seem to get access to all wakes for instance I could only find the trace of the drain source under network usage. usual battery drainers are google location based apps but I've also seen a system file Explorer that would gain access to network too frequently while in background. hibernate or freeze/disable those apps as you see fit, rinse and repeat. regardless of the rom I get in the end approximately 0.3%/hr of batt drain at night, 0.7%/hr during day while phone is in standby. I keep in background llama, accuweather, Tapatalk, mail, Dropbox, textra and a couple system apps. I use greenify to hibernate user and system apps alike. I only turn on location when I do need maps.
hope that helps.

[Q] Monitoring partial wakelocks without root?

Does anyone know of a way to monitor wakelocks without root? Some app or service on my phone is keeping it awake for hours at a time and I can't figure out what it is. It's slowly draining my battery and has become an annoyance.
I've used BetterBatteryStats in the past, but it requires root to list Wakelocks.
Welcome to the world of no root
I really wish we could but without root I don't think its possible.

Eh, that's what I figured but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Getting hungry for root here...
Strangely enough, the wakelocks issue went away a day or so ago.
It may have been related to the Hangouts problem that has been happening recently, but I barely use the app.

According to their support docs, a lot of the options that I require regarding wakelook still require root.
Looks like we're just going to have to be patient.

I am running JB samsung room stock and if guys have any ideas how to increase the battery life without changing room, please give me your advises. I have read a lot of threads and follow them but nothing changed. I appreciate what guys have done to me.

Install an app like wakelock detector, or better battery. They will tell you what's eating battery. You can then use an app like greenify to hibernate battery hog apps.

Freezing an app renders it useless until you defrost it. Greenify "hibernates" apps. This means it's put to sleep until you wake it by opening it.
Wow. I followed your instruction. Installed Greenify and it helped a little bit. I lost 1% per 5 minutes using Tapatalk to check the information. Is it normal ?

You can't measure battery changes in 5 minutes. You need to compare over hours/days if there is a change.

Have your device manually power off/on during night say 1144Pm to 445AM. Some folks received many calls I don't so no need to have my phone on ALL night. Plus it helps my phone last way. .Way longer. Well...
