You can if you've got hboot 1.44 but not with 1.54..... HTC closed the exploit with the updated firmware.
If you're s-off with 1.44 then upgrading the firmware won't lose you s-off.

Is it possible to downgrade your HBOOT? I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask! I also read everywhere that's its pretty risky and probably not worth it.

Even if you managed to once you rebooted the phone it would essentially brick, and to boot the new hboot you need to reboot.
Just going to have to wait

Error [140] bootloader version error

Hi, there, I'm trying to downgrade from 3.04 to 1.29, I downloaded the RUU unzipped it and ran the setup.exe, I relocked my bootloader, and I have the correct drivers. I just don't know that to do. P.S: I am S-ON
Only way you can downgrade from 3.04 to 1.29 is to be s-off
Alright, thanks, how do I do that on 3.04?

OK, that is done, now do I just run the RUU for 1.29? I will still have S-OFF after it right?

Umm, why are you running the same thread again, this question has already been answered, there are no alternatives for your current HBOOT.

not without s-off, like I said in the other thread, pay or find someone who is willing to pay for you with a card or live with s-on, most of use had to do it.

You could try firewater, but as far as i'm familiar with it's situation it isn't working anymore.

No, sunshine is the only way to achieve s-off and no firewater won't work, it's officially discontinued and will not work anymore without the online resources it needed.
Sunshine s-off or stay s-on.
