i used the Xperia stock launcher of my Z1 a few times and I find it to be limiting. That is why switched to Nova, but I want to retain the opaque/transparent notification bar of the stock launcher.
How can I solve this?
You can choose transparent notification bar in Nova launcher settings. It's inbuilt to Nova.
Cheers!!

Not sure mate. I have an s4 and nova free version. I have checked transparent notification in settings and it works here. Try contacting the developer.

We need to wait for an update (Nova) for our devices like what they did for the Xperia Z before.

It wont work unless the rom API supports it. Apparently the xperia interface doesnt, so it wont work.
Yeah it does, Xperia Z and z1 both do it, I have both handsets

I can confirm, the navigation bar is transparent after converting Nova to System Apps via Titanium Backup.

I know lol,actually I didn't tell what I wanted
What I want to tell is that you can't simply freeze statusbar because there will be side effects, like force closes, its not like a regular app that you freeze with titanium backup.

If it works for you that's cool.
There used to be downsides to using 3rd party launchers. I ran stock launchers predominantly on my phones till about 4.2 (was on N4 at the time). Nowadays, I feel as though if you can have endless customizability with zero performance or battery hit, with flawless stability why not?
I know that we just got root but I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the stock weather widget transparent. If this is wrong section please move.

you can tap the widget then select settings and move the transparency

Unfortunately you can't adjust transparency unless you're using the TW launcher. Even if you do adjust it in TW, it doesn't stick when you switch to another launcher like nova.

Push it from root explore are other root file app set permission. Reboot that about it.

The widget does work on my S5 running Solo launcher. Not transparent, but it does work. On mine I have to re-size it, not sure why. Gonna try the default launcher to see if I can get transparency.
Edit: Tried the default TW launcher and the widget was indeed transparent.
It's a shame that only works on the one launcher.
Does anyone know how or if we can change it to where when I hold down the home button I get the recents instead of Google Now? Im coming from a GS4 and I liked it that way. I have tried Wanam and Gravity Box and I still can't get it to work . Thanks
Yes with nova launcher. Under settings, then gestures, then home button actions.

Not that I know of. Sorry man if that's not the answer you was hoping. I like tw to. But I had to move on to something with more options. Like change icon images individually, gestures, resize and overlap widgets, change icon sizes, etc...
