Had my first crash/reset when receiving a cell call after owning the phone for 1 week.
Is there a way to view a crash history so I can keep tabs on this?
Nothing user-facing. If it's a Samsung phone, there's a way to dump the system logs (may be one on other phones too; I don't know). In any case, if it ever happens again, take the phone back and/or hard-reset it (maybe even try that now). That shouldn't ever happen.

This is one of several problems with my AT&T Tilt. My 30 day return policy ends November 8, so I'm trying to figure out which problems are specific to my phone and which are just Kaiser in general.
Once or twice a day, my phone screen gets corrupt with overlapping text and only the screen locks up. Also, ActiveSync no longer connects. Otherwise, the phone is still fully functional. The screen still responds to touch (although I can't tell what I'm touching), sounds still works, I can make/receive calls, and Voice Command works and even announces incoming calls. The only way I've found to unfreeze the screen is to soft reset.
This happens on both the AT&T and Helmi ROMs with minimal apps and tweaks commonly used by fellow XDA members. So I'm thinking either the problem is my phone's video chip or it's the video driver common to Kaiser ROMs. But if it's the latter and it's happening to other people twice a day, too, I can't imagine that no one would have posted about this irritating problem.
Note that this is different from the thread "random freezing on tilt", where their phone locks up for a few seconds then unfreezes. In my case, ONLY the SCREEN locks up and NEVER unlocks.
Anyone's Kaiser having this only-screen-frozen problem?
Is it only me?
I take by the complete lack of responses and very low view count that no one has this problem except me?
I'm thinking I just got a f'd up Tilt based on these constant lockups on two different ROMs, my Bluetooth problems (which no one else seems to have), plus the 2 dead pixels on the screen (one locked blue above the Start icon and the second locked red just above the hour digits on the HTC Home clock). Guess it's back to the crappy AT&T ROM for me, then wait for a lock up as partial proof of my problems and go the AT&T store to request a new Tilt (which, according to another recent thread, AT&T no longer has in stock).
Just for future reference, it seems that I actually get two types of lockups.
The most common lockup is as described, where the screen gets corrupted with overlapping text and locks up, but phone and touchscreen are still fully operational.
Less common is a complete phone lockup, which causes me to miss calls. The screen doesn't get corrupt, but the phone is completely frozen except for the power button turning the screen off/on.
Hi, I've owned my tytn II for a few months and in the last couple of weeks, the phone has been acting really odd. I have tried to make a call and it gives me the dreaded "beep beep beep" and ends the call every time i try. I've noticed this though; If i turn the phone off and back on, then as soon as it gets signal (like 3 minutes after load up??), i can make a call ... Then i cant make another after that ... Then if i send a text, as soon as i receive the "sms sent" notification, I can call again, if i try immediately.
It seemed like a software issue, so selected "clear storage" from the settings menu and still get the same problem. I've tried changing from my virgin sim to my vodafone sim and get the same problem. To make maters far worse, as well as not being able to dial out, nobody can dial in; it goes straight to voicemail. I am showing average to good reception when this happens.
One thing i have noticed since the problem started is that the "G" symbol at the top of the phone is now showing "3G", but i haven't changed area and don't recall it saying 3G before. I haven't changed any settings and haven't got any new software ... Its at factory standard, 100%.
Does anyone know what I should do as I'm getting ready to brick the phone just for the sake of it. I've had the Wizard for over 2 years and I never had 2 restore it once ... this phone is REALLY bugging me. I'm honestly thinking of keeping the wizard and selling this one on ebay for say £180 or something, just to get rid of it.
Also, I've noticed the battery is draining faster recently. The phone is about 5 months old.

Did u try to turn of the 3g reception?
If no, try to turn it of in settings/personal/phone/band and in network type select GSM(or in comm manager turn the 3G off).
Mikulec, you are a god ... I guess i'm just getting angry at the phone because I haven't even started playing with it yet and its just so much more tempermental than my old wizard. It was to the point that I am still using the wizard as my main phone and the newer tytn II just sits at home all day! As it appears so far though, it definitely has worked, so thank you.

happy to help u bro, the kaiser is a good toy, u just need to play with it.
This along with the faster battery drain is the first sign of a radio hardware failure. If in a few weeks you start losing network even with 3G off, or can feel your phone gets warm even on standby then you'll already know what to do... send it for repair.
When I send it in for repair, do I need to install the normal rom/etc? Before I installed the rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416278), I had no issues whatsoever. Will they actually replace what they need to even if it is working under the stock rom?
Actually, I just checked with 3G off, and I'm still getting the same 3 beeps. Anyone know what's up?

My friend that has kaiser also and usually flash his phone once or twice a week and had it repaired alot and they have never said anything about his ROM
but then we live in Sweden and maybe we have other rules then you have
It's better to restore original ROM and SPL (there's a guide in the Wiki for that) before sending it back. Once you've done that you can check if it works again - obviously if it does with the original ROM then don't send it back.
It seems txt messaging freezes my phone at sporadic moments during the day and I"m not sure why it's happening... If my phone is asleep, and i try to wake it up and press buttons and it doesn't respond, I can almost guarantee that if I soft reset the phone, and go back to my text messaging, there will be a new msg there and when I check, sure enough, there's a new message. I'm not sure why this is happening, and I don't know if it's a Windows Mobile 6.5 issue or not.. I've used both PDA Corner and TPC's roms and the same thing happens from time 2 time. Anyone else ever experience this?
...let us not forget this is still a form of Windows. I find a soft reset every couple of days and a hard reset every couple of months keeps things running smooth.
Just the other day, I couldn't hear the person on the other end of the phone call. Both incoming and outgoing. Reboot. Fixed.
Especially with aftermarket ROMS, this might just be a fact of life.
yup, i need to reboot in order to be able to do so. its weird, at first it happened once in a while, now it happens a lot. does anyone have this issue?
This actually happend to me a couple moments ago but I have no idea how/why it happened.
This happened to me yesterday multiple times. I even formatted the phone twice just to make sure none off the apps are causing the problem. Today the phone is working as it should be.weird...

I have had this before...
however my biggest baffle is how i have 4 bars of 3g yet my freaking internet/data doesnt work sometimes... the up and down arrows just stare back at me blank as a sheet of paper
is this a defect with the phone, i got mines in the first week it was released, so i am sure it was one of the first batch, we all know the first batches are iffy. i find myself doing it everyday mostly, i emailed HTC and they said to do a full reset on the phone, and if that does not work, to send it in for warranty, but if its not covered under warranty i need to pay. this sucks, it shouldnt give me this much problems.
Happens to me from time to time (once every week or two). I simply enable airplane mode, wait a moment and then disable it. Suddenly my phone is acting as it should.
I simply blame AT&T which makes me feel better
Hey there.
I have a stock Samsung Galaxy S4 Active on the AT&T network. Recently, I've been plagued by a number of troubles.
Bit of background:
For a while, I had the most bizarre issue: the screen thought I was touching it when I wasn't, near the bottom-middle of the screen, and would attempt to open/click on anything in that area. Often turning the screen on and off would help, for a little while. I was reaching my wits' end, because that would obviously be very frustrating to someone who uses their phone frequently throughout the day.
I thought maybe it had been new software I had installed, so I did a factory reset. Problem remained. I factory reset with NO backups. Problem remained. I updated to 4.4.2 via OTA. Problem remained...
And then mysteriously went away on its own.
I've been working in tech for a decade now, mainly in PC and server architecture, so I know better than to look a gift horse in the mouth - but I also know better than to think a problem that "mysteriously" goes away is gone for good. So the first part of my question: does anyone know what could have possibly been causing this?
I'm not super phone-savvy. I've rooted and flashed a few phones in the past couple years, but I'm by no means developer-level.
---------------------
Which brings me to my next problem... around the time that this issue went away, another one cropped up. Randomly, my phone will stop sending/receiving texts/calls, and the data connection will not function. This will continue until I turn on airplane mode and turn it off--at that point I receive all my missed texts, and it works again... sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes for nearly 2 days. It's really frustrating. I've tried factory resets, I've tried restoring default APNs... but I'm at my wit's end with this. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
I should add that, with my last issue, it still shows a data connection in the notification bar - but there is none, or at least, no activity on it. It doesn't simply act as if it's in airplane mode and go "wah no data network" as soon as I try using it--it just simply hangs for ~30 seconds, then times out. Messages don't get received, webpages don't load, calls don't get placed, etc.
