New Camera App on Gear - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Well I have been playing around with a TON of apps on the watch over the last few days and have stumbled across what looks like a security feature when trying to shoot video, look below:

Something else strange is that with every app the camera makes the same shutter sound, even with the sound mode off on the app.
I know there is a way now to turn the shutter sound completely off, I just found it very odd that the sound would continue to play even in 3rd party apps with the noise turned off.
Anyone find a good camera to use with the watch that will get around the 15sec file limit? Not looking to max the memory out with a single recording, but something in the 20-30sec range would be nice.

Problem with using One and auto recorders like dailyroads voyager/autoguard blackbox

I just purchased the One and tried both dailyroads and autoguard black box. I notice that it gets REALLY choppy when it's dark out. This did not happen with my nexus 4.
I notice that when i'm in the htc camera app, the viewfinder is also choppy when it's dark out, but when i turn on video recording, it's smooth like butter.
It's almost like dailyvoyager and autoblackbox are recording from the camera viewfinder rather than going into the camera's recording mode to record video. Does anyone experience the same thing? Is there a fix?
Try VideoReg. I prefer it over the two you mentioned. I have noticed that often when it starts up the preview will not be automatically in focus for some reason, so go into the settings screen then back out and it works. The developer is getting a One and has a beta that makes the One's HDR video mode available. Should be some good stuff on the way in a month or two.

Background Hardware Use (Mic/Cam)

Hi,
I seem to be having trouble with background hardware services (specifically the cameras and bluetooth mics):
1. Bluetooth headset calls through messenger apps like viber or whatsapp loses use of the microphone around 1 minute into a call (like being muted). I have to unlock the screen and switch back to the app to get microphone use back.
2. The background video recording app (SCOS) loses control of the cameras (both front and back) and cannot use it (maybe cannot instantiate?) around a minute after the screen is turned off. Switching cameras or restarting the app is the only fix.
I have already disabled the Battery Optimization for the concerned apps, plus as many services as I can find, but still the problem persists. The only solution is to keep the screen on, which nullifies the point of using a headset and a background video recorder.
This seems to be connected with Android P's new privacy settings
Anyone have an idea how to solve this?

Cracking sound on video recording

although i bought this phone mainly for its photographic capabilities i also want to have the ability to use it's video recording..
and i can not....
i am getting a crackling sound every time i try to record a video..
i restarted the phone , i turned Wi-FI off (saw a video claiming that on some smartphone the wifi antenna messes up with sensors etc.. ) ,
changed resolution settings from 4K HDR to 4K to 1080 HDR and 1080 18:9 ..
it can happen in the 15th second , or in the 2nd , and hell some times i hear this sound even BEFORE i press the record button..
when i choose the video option i can hear something mechanical like the shutter or the video camera module getting " prepared" to record? no idea..
i tried with different apps like camera zoom FX or some other similar apps and it does the same sound..
anyone else facing or had that before? i haven't record that many vids on N9 but from the 10 i have , 6 of them have this issue...
no problem here
This sound?

I've got mine last week, it made this crackle/clicking sound since day one and I've already scheduled a repair!
just wanted to write an update to anyone that is or will face similar issues..my phone was swapped by Nokia's Care Center.... so i got a new N9PV
which means that the issue i was having was not repairable ..
Hey, that is my video! I still need to sent mine in
Mine started doing it after the Oct update. Mine does it any time the camera is open. I guess I need to call.

Odd sound phenomenon

I have the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. And I have noticed a strange phenomenon that occurs with the sound whenever I try to screen record using the built-in screen recorder. When playing a game the sound sounds like a normal phone... However, when I start to screen record the sound all of the sudden gets more depth and the bass is louder and the clarity is a lot better. How could a screen recorder make the speakers sound better? Are the speakers not already going at their full potential? If not, how would I go about enabling it to sound the same as when the screen recording is enabled?
As a little background, I am not new to electronics and I am a power user. I've already been up and down the sound settings and through the developers options, but to no avail. There doesn't seem to be any discussion anywhere about this particular phenomenon...
Interesting. May be the codec that's being used.
See what it is in Developer options when in those states.
Could be a firmware glitch... like those never happen in Samsungs

Video recording with the screen turned off

Hi,
As we all know, on default Huawei's Camera apk it's not possible to record the video with the screen turned off (if you start recording and press lock key, recording will stop).
Is there any mod or any other possibility which will alow recording with the screen turned off?
I would like to use my phone as a "dash" camera while I'm riding a scooter. In that case, recording with the screen on is completely unnecessary and it's draining the battery.
I know that there are some apks which can record the video with the screen off, but the quality of the video is poor comparing with the original Camera apk.
Hope to hear some good advice,
Regards.
you found a way ?
Unfortunately no.
