Cassie's XtraLiteRom jellybean EDITION v14.8 LSZ
You're Rom You're way
Now the longest running Custom Rom for the Galaxy Note
Version 14.6 onwards has a totally rewritten aroma installer giving you additional flexibility.
Many users asked for the option to install just apps from Aroma which in previous versions was not possible. Well now it is. If you wish to go back in and install just one app you can do so now.
You also get to choose your modem as well with several options avaliable which best suits different areas.
Too make the rom your own select - Option 4) Create your own XLR rom to your liking - in the Aroma Installer
This is where the magic begins. In the background you will have the Original XLR edition base, but you can select which apps and mods you want to install. It is all done in touch recovery and very easy to use. You can add only the apps you want, wethere you want 15 toggle mods etc. You can build your rom your way
See the all new Aroma in action here:
Why use this rom. Well its a good solid base for you to tweak how YOU want. There are many roms out there far in advance of this one however what we have here is a smooth trusty solid rom.
The following explains why people use this rom

Rom is very fluid. So far after a few hours of usage, its bugfree and no FC's from my end. So far i cannot tell about battery life and frankly speaking i dont care. As long as i can feel the smoothness and fluidity of things, i am a happy person. You have done a great job here. Rom is really fast and smooth. All the crap stuff that shouldnt be in there, isnt in there and that's a fantastic job.
I would highly recommend this rom for those who intend on using it as daily drivers. No crap stuff, pure simple and a painless rom.
Thanks @thering1975.

There's a lot of other ROMs out there, and I've tried them all. Some had lots of
stock crapware (slooow), some had kernel issues (baterry overheating, poor life).
That's why I keep finding myself restoring XL6, much like a stray hubby coming back to his good wife after a romp on the side.
So, thank you once again for your great work.

FAQ
Q) Do you offer support?
A) I do this for the fun of it, i wanted a challenge when i got the note back in November 2011 and there was only 1 custom rom. So i thought i would learn and see if i could produce one. I made errors on the way and in fact its great to look back at the original posts to see how far we have come. Anyways a year on and a few grey hairs later and its still going strong. But to the point in hand, yes i will support anyone as long as they have read the instrucions and reread them and then applied them. If you are courteous so will i, if you are rude i will just ignore you. Users of this rom feel free to assist anyone, however this thread has always been free of rudeness or arogance and i like to keep it that way. Too many custom rom threads degenerate into flaming or *****yness, NOT HERE though, this rom has survived because its a good solid stable twekable rom to your liking with users that actually care.
Q) Come on wheres your donate button hidden?
A) i did this for myself to prove i could do it, i didnt think anyone would want to use it but some seem to like it. However the true heroes are people like Philz for his kernel and Pikachu01 for his excellent tweaks, and Eyebee for his dedication to the community. If you want to make a donation then please assist them as without them our phones would never get away from stock!
Q) Mirrors and ETA
A), Firstly i will use two hosts Dev Host and Mega. Mega is the fastest DevHost is for those that cannot reach Mega. If you wish to provide a mirror then feel free i do not track downloads just please pm me the link so i can dd to the front page rather than posting the link direct. Also please do not ask for ETA, i always keep users informed of the progress and expected ETA if i give a date or time ill keep to it unless something goes wrong.
Let's give this a try really needed a lite ROM,
Thanks

Does the ROM offer better battery life? From experience?
This is my main niggle with the note so far, that and all the bloatware, so if the above is true, this would be win-win for me!

Great news not tried that kernel, may take a look as some additional screen state tweaks can be applied to a overclockable kernel, to enhance battery power from oc roms
This ROM wouldn't be possible without:
- First and foremost DAGr8's Hybrid ROM
- Dakix's Zeta Rom for GTAB 7.7
- tonyking123 Classic_ROM_v1 and associated Mods
IMPORTANT - As requested - I have attached the systemui.apk file that is at the core of this to this post - you can extract it from zip and place it in system/app on your Android 4.0.4 touchwiz ROM using android commander or via adb push. Ensure you change the SystemUI.apk file permissions to 644 (rw r r) BEFORE REBOOTING.
(Doubt it will work correctly on anything else 4.0.3 etc but you can try)
Also Be sure to change dpi to 213 to enable tablet mode after copying systemui to system/appp to enable tablet mode.
This file must NOT BE FLASHED.
ROM flashing info removed - when I get moment I will build a ROM around this and post it here. Please don't hold your breath as I have a lot of life commitments so I can't provide an ETA... Sorry.
Good Stuff
--------------
- uses AOSP version of Email, Calendar, Browser, Messaging (SMS), Play Music
- Features SMemo that works well at 213DPI
- Full hw video acceleration as it's touchwiz
- No strange GPS Anomalies
ROM Anomalies
-----------------------
- Displays 4G instead of 3G HSPA
- Battery seems to drain a little fast
- USB Switcher doesn't work and results in FC when trying to mount internal and ext SD card
- Other anomalies possible due to hybrid nature please report back and I will look into them.
Notes
----------
- AOSP Email and Exchange Email now working
Please note I am still working on this rom and hope to add the following in the future:
- AOSP dialer and contacts
- AOSP Exchange email

To install this ROM:
- Install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765307&page=19 and the 15 toggles mod (Follow instructions for install process carefully. i.e. flash abyss redpill, wipe in redpill and flash Classic Rom v1, let rom boot then reboot into cwm and flash mods and reboot)
- Download (http://www.multiupload.co.uk/GO9QKHWSQZ) extract and copy the "ClockworkMod" folder to your SD Card
- Now launch cwm app and choose "restore" and select "Touchwiz-Tablet-Mode-Qazzi76-V0.1"

Instead of flashing the whole rom and then restore this rom, can't we just flash a safe kernel and then restore your rom?

If you restore a rom it sites not matter from what rom you do it.
Flash a ROM and follow by restore from CWM backup? Hmm... Do you have the steps on how you enable tablet mode in the beginning?

It does matter which kernel, perhaps extracting kernel with which the backup was made then if save wipe procedures would be enought to restore with cwm?

Is there something special with Classic ROM that facilitate tablet mode ? Could we have instead just the components (systemUI I guess at least) that would work with any 4.0.4 stock ROM ? Also, I'm fine with AOSP apps, but does S-apps work too, especially stock camera & FM radio ?

Hi Guys,
I'm sorry the installation sounds so complicated...
With my installation instructions I was careful to ensure the end result would be exactly what I have on my Note as this is not a fully cooked ROM it is just a cwm restore.
I am also aware that people may be running different kernels and different versions of CWM. In light of the emmc/hard brick issues I just wanted to ensure the safest transition from whatever you're running to what I'm running.
I also added some AOSP features (Unfortunately the AOSP exchange email doesn't work....) currently working on this.
I will extract the System UI component only which comes from directly from DAGr8's Hybrid ROM and post it here if it helps.
Please note that the TW Dialer, TW Contacts and Mount Mass Storage dialog FCs with just the System UI component.
@qazzi76 : first of all, thanks for sharing your work.
I don't know if it's safe to restore from Classic ROM, that's why I think people (including) are a bit reluctant in following the procedure...but I guess eventually there will be a more "standard" way of installing your ROM. The benefit of installing only the components you used to make it work is that everybody could use their preferred base ROM... Or maybe your plan is to build your own ROM and keeping it up to date.
Could you tell me if you tried FM Radio and stock S-Camera, and if it works ?
Funny thing is I think I tried to replace SystemUI with the Hybrid from i717, but I still couldn't get notification bar...so I guess I messed up somewhere.
Again, thanks for sharing your work, it's been a long time I've been waiting for this, unfortunately I go on vacation tomorrow so I won't be able to use it before a few weeks.

Hi KSauzeRK,
Yes I have now included the systemUI.apk on my first post.
Also Yes, S-Memo is modded (Not by me - can't find that developer to credit him/her) and works perfectly at 213 dpi.
Yes S-apps, stock camera and FM radio function perfectly.
Ok I've managed to resolve the AOSP exchange email issue - All working now.
I will add the relevant files to the first post when I get a moment.
Simply put I will host two posts, one for the US variants and the other for N910G.
I'm attempting to fix the data issues and booting issues that occur when trying to boot the ROMs.
If you want other people to use this fix simply link them to this thread.
This is an attempt and by no means does it entail that it will work, this is an experiment.
The kernels provided are not created by me and all credits are due to the developers who created them.
The US variant kernel used is created by @freeza and I thank him for creating it.
US variants
Follow these instructions carefully and do not skip steps.
Update to the latest stock 5.1.1 firmware for your device.
N910V:
DataFix
Multisystem Kernel by @hsbadr
Other US users please download and flash :
Kernel 1
Or if the first one doesn't work.
Kernel 2
(Both kernels created by @freeza)
Stock 5.1.1 N910F ROMs:
Based on COI3:
Data Fix
Based on COJ3:
Data Fix
Note5 Ports: (These should work with stock based ROMs as well.
N910W8:
Data Fix
N910T/T3:
DataFix 1
Data Fix 2
N910P: (4G Doesn't seem to work?).
Data Fix 1
Data Fix 2
Flash DataFix 2 then DataFix 1.
I would advise a clean install, this in an experiment to see if it fixes issues, so make a back-up.
Move the files to your internal storage.
Make a back-up of your current ROM.
Wipe /system /data /cache /DalvikCache /AndroidSecure
Flash the ROM.zip
Flash the Kernel.zip
Flash the DataFix.zip
Reboot.
Please report back.
If you want other people to use this fix simply link them to this thread.
The kernel can be shared.
N910G
Follow these instructions carefully and do not skip steps.
Update to the latest stock 5.1.1 firmware or the ROM's matching firmware version for your device.
Download the ROM.zip and then Dr.Ketan_L10 kernel
[Thanks to @dr.ketan for the kernel and thanks to @MBariya for testing it out] This kernel only works with COH4 modem and bootloader.
OR install Nameless Kernel.
Thanks to Nameless Team, Er.Aditya, Crimsonthunder and Senthil360.
Move the files to your internal storage.
Make a back-up of your current ROM.
Wipe /system /data /cache /DalvikCache /AndroidSecure
Flash the ROM.zip
Flash the Kernel.zip
Reboot.

For luck
I'll be right back ?
found two bugs after flashing the kernel and datafix you proposed in the other thread. It doesn't display my carrier name anymore, on the homescreen only, lock screen still shows Rogers, which is not big deal but i get a connection and can make calls just fine. I also get a message saying my places stopped working whatever that is.... No freezes so far!
I'm on W8 which i heard is the same HW as 910T.

You are welcome I think the bigger task seems to be N910G, though I had expected the opposite
Not good phone froze during a call. I flashed back the first firmware, waiting to see if that works. I used the data fix that's labeled note 5 port for w8-T. So far the UI is OK. I'm curious to know if it's the kernel or the data fix that makes itfreeze

Lol I would imagine the same as well. In most cases the US variants normally have quit the problematic experience but it seems to be the contrary atm. Hope the fix needed for N910G is figured out because this Rom should be enjoyed by all interested. I have a question though. Kyubi Bloatware edition is no longer supported by their developer, is that a precursor to the unbloated variant as well? Sorry in advance if there is no correlation between the two.

Did you flash any other mod?
Hi. I have a rooted (CF AutoRoot) SM-920T running Android 6 /Firmware EDP1 with TWRP.
I noticed there aren't a ton of Roms for EDP1, which of course makes sense at this time and stage of the game with the EDP1 release.
Is there any risk to downgrading my firmware to 5.11 and rooting again, TWRP again, and loading 5.11 roms onto my phone?
Is there any pros/cons Im missing here?
I am really wanting a ROM with good modification support, but will settle for the bloatware just being removed as I detest these kinds of things on my phone hogging memory etc.
Thank you everyone for a response to this question.

here is an awesome rom to run 5.1.1. its totally customizable and the dev @stangdriver44 is great at support. He has a tutorial in the thread on how to flash back to 5.1 from 6 there as well. By the way he is working on a MM build as well. Hope this helps, The 5.1.1 OZOP rom is the best rom by far for the S6 check it out

Here is my post with the confirmed working method I have used several times. Just make sure you have either a full rom zip or Nandroid to use immediately once you've odined the package I made.
Thank @BigDaddy38 for helping people out.
Bigdaddy, have you check my thread lately? OZOP MM is coming along nicely and is going to be off the hook with mods and OC controls right out of the gate!!! Just added my "Button remapping" control mods including volume music skip and all hardware buttons completely customizable to activate special feature like cyogenmod torch and screen recovering but native to making a shortcut to any app you choose! Just check it out. Way to much stuff already and don't want to go to far off topic in this gentleman's thread.
OP, if you have any questions either PM me or tag me in a quote so I get notified. It is a very easy process and if you have a nandroid only take about 2-3 minutes to be booted up and running in LP again.
Good luck and thanks
Ok, I guess let me simplfy the question.
Can i simply take the DOJC firmware package, flash it on my phone that currently has EPD1, upon completion, flash twrp and then flash a DOJC compliant rom, and then flash SU?
Thanks!

Ok, I guess let me simplfy the question.
Can i simply take the DOJC firmware package, flash it on my phone that currently has EPD1, upon completion, flash twrp and then flash a DOJC compliant rom, and then flash SU?
Thanks!

I would follow Stangdrivers guide he has actually done it more than once and was successful.
stangdriver44 for the win!
His post and suggestions were right on.
I downgraded form marshmallow to Lollipop with no issues.
Already had TWRP in stalled from previously and flashed a LP Rom.
Worked great!
Thanks so much!
Make sure you thank his post and mine lol for helping. Even though he did the work

So i was able to finally downgrade tro 5.1.1 using Stangdriver44 method. Thanks for your help! However, the problem still presist. The problem i have is posted here . I cleaned wiped, twrped my LP backup and i get an error "extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255" in the middle of recoverying the system. There appears to be a corrupt file or something. I can twrp another LP 5.1.1 custom rom, however, that mirror image issue wont resolve.
I was hoping if there is a way to create a logcat so I can get to the root of the issue. Thanks for your help.
MODEST ROM
So, this is my rom. It's basically an all stock rom with some added features that, in my opinion, make for a much better overall experience than true stock. It comes with a custom kernel that is fully upstreamed for all the latest fixes and patches. If you like stock Note 4 look I don't think you'll find a better rom.
Features :
Flashpoint Kernel v3.1- Linux v.3.10.108 Thread Link

ModestRom v11--- DOWNLOAD
If you've already upgraded your bootloader to CPD1 (MM 6.0.1) the only thing you need to upgrade is your modem. Using Odin, just place the modem file in the AP slot and boot your phone into download mode and flash.
CQL1 Modem Upgrade-- DOWNLOAD
Instructions
If you are on 5.1.1 you will need to upgrade your bootloader and reroot using this Guide.
If you have already upgraded to 6.0, unlocked your bootloader, and have TWRP installed, all you need to do is the following:
-Download the CQL1 modem upgrade to your pc
-Download the Rom to your internal or external sdcard
-Boot into recovery and factory reset your device
-Do not boot straight from recovery to download mode - download mode does not properly boot without doing the following
-Power off your device and pull your battery for 3-5 seconds (this will ensure that your device properly boots into download mode)
-Insert your battery and boot to download mode by holding vol. down + home button + power button at the same time
-Using Odin flash the CQL1 modem and once that completes, power off your device
-Now boot to recovery by holding vol. up + home button + power button
-Once you're in recovery go to advanced wipe and wipe everything but the internal and external sdcard (I always do this step twice)
-Then just go to install and flash the MODestRom zip file
-Boot time is about 7 to 10 minutes
-Enjoy!!

Advanced/WiFi Calling Fix
This is how I got mine working; it's the same fix that @mharleston brought to light a while back.
Using any root explorer do the following:
-Go to /system/csc/ and find the sales_code.dat file
-Open with a text editor and change the VZW to TMB
-Save that file and reboot
-After the reboot go back to the same file and change it back to VZW and reboot again
Once it boots back up check in Settings and you should be able to access both the Advanced Calling and WiFi Calling

I'm not real sure. It seems like the v&t can both run on f&g models, so if i had to guess i think it can. But that's just a guess.
Hi! I'm very excited there's a new ROM for my N910V. Does Wifi/Advanced Calling work on this ROM?

Advanced calling works and wifi calling activates when you turn it on, but to be honest i haven't tried it to verify. Also just in case your wondering, visual voice mail works (it drives me crazy when I can't get vvm to activate on other roms.)
Good Job

Yes twrp. Just download the zip file, place on your external sd card, or internal if you don't plan on formatting data (although I would), and flash zip file. Also if you haven't already upgrade your modem to pf3, do that first. The link for that is here. The modem needs to be flashed through odin. I'll be sure to update the op to include instructions. Thanks for pointing that out.

Cool rom, but why have 2 batteries enabled on boot? How can we uninstall minit if we prefer the stock batteries?

There shouldn't be two batteries. Did you do a full wipe first? I'll post a version without 3minit mod since it basically requires a paid app to work.
I wiped everything except internal storage and SD card in twrp. Can you add screenshot option to power menu? Thx.

I can certainly give it a shot . I'll have a copy of the systemUI without 3minit up in the morning, as soon as I can get to my computer. Also of you don't want the statusbar gradient you can go into the gradient app and push the slide bar under the color box all the way to the right. I circled the bar in screenshot.
Hopefully this rom is stable, and not a lot of bugs. I've flashed 4 different Roms in the past week or 2.

Yes it's very stable. I use my phone heavily for work and that was my kind of the reason I started down this path. If you want to wait a couple hours I'm going to post another version, with 3minit battery and one without. Also a couple more tweaks/mods. I'll update the op with more info as well.

I flashed the modest rom about a hour ago. I gotta say man its great to see a rom that actually works the way it's supposed to work. No FCs or systemUI FCs or random reboots and WiFi works without having to enter my WiFi password everytime I reboot my device.
