I had a similar problem recently, mine was also set to one hour & when I realized it was off by more than ten degrees I knew something was wrong.
I checked when the last time it had updated was and it was over 5 hours earlier. At that point, I tried absolutely every thing I could think of to get it working and NOTHING worked.
I finally figured out that the acuweather site was not working right. The next morning, it started working just fine again all by itself, and I hadn't changed anything..........
Mine has been like this since day one. Over 10 days now.
You have to use the stock weather app, it syncs with the gear.. I had the same problem, switched back to stock weather and everything works as it should..
I had this problem, Im using a custom rom.. You want to make sure you have accuweather widget installed.. theres also a weather service apk. Pretty much anything related to weather must be on your phone to be safe.
These may be considered "bloat" to some, without them the weather wont update.
Also I had to reinstall galaxy gear manager, now my weather updates hourly.
same here. today i try login to samsung play store update the gear manager and than the weathter show up.

Are you saying you have to use the stock weather widget on your phone? I use Beautiful Widgets on my phone, but BW uses accuweather. My Gear says it's 72°, my phone says it's 46°. The Gear says it was last updated @ 10:42 AM on 10-4. It's 9:15 PM on 10-25. I didn't even own the Gear on 10-4.

As far as I know, you have to use the stock weather widget to update the gear weather watchface..
Answer: Location service must be turned ON
I just purchased a Galaxy Note 4 and for an added $55 deal I got the Gear 2 Neo smartwatch with it. I am having tons of fun with both the phone and the watch. I thought I would do a Google search on how to fix the issue with the Gear 2 Neo not updating the weather application when I have the Location button turned off and it brought me to this page.
Yes that's right! You heard me. The issue with Accu Weather not updating is because the Location Finder must be active or the watch refuses to update. I have verified this several times over again. Definitely the result of not being able to find it's location through the phone because the phone's Location service is off.
I have solved this by pressing the Location button and turning it on momentarily to update the phone. Sometimes leaving the Location on for several hours when I wish to receive weather updates. This is very self defeating turning it on and off to receive weather, not to mention that if a Severe Weather Warning came through on my phone I would not receive it on my Watch unless I had the Location/GPS/Wifi finder service running. That's just stupid :silly:. I will be waiting for a fix unless I can find some alternative clock/weather watch face that will replace this broken AccuWeather application.
I hope this helps you understand what is happening to your watch when it fails to update weather. And yes, it is also true that only the Default Weather application will send updates to the watch even with the Location turned on, that I have found so far. Though I'm still new at this and if I find and alternative I will certainly post it here for everyone.
Edit: Wow I just noticed the age of the last post before mine. OMG! I can't believe this problem still exists and hasn't been fixed yet over the last year. Complete brand new model and it still happens, this is sad.

Literally am having this issue right now... SAMSUNG FIX THIS!!!!
Same here. Galaxy watch 46mm and Galaxy S10+. I believe that it auto updates while my phone is on wifi, but it does not update on LTE even if i try to force it on watch. If my phone is not on wifi it updates thru Galaxy wearable app.

I know this has been talked about in various threads and I have tried all suggestions...
Can someone please figure this out.
I am:
stock note 3 4.3 software
weather widget is on home screen, set for one hour update
galaxy manager is set up for 1 hour update
I have used both 1.2 software and 1.4 software twice. watch updates initially and then nothing, I have cleared phone caches and reset gear twice as well. Is this a watch problem or phone problem? or is it software on phone or watch?
Please help.

The Gear gets it weather feed from the Accuweather widget which exists in two places. Either on the home screen, lock screen, or both. The lock screen weather widget can be accessed by touching the time and then dragging down. The time on the lock screen widget is always the time of last update on my Gear.
Here's how to set the time for the lock screen widget.
You have to have the lock screen security set to "swipe" in order to access the above. I know this is where the Gear gets its weather info because I once set the lock screen weather update time to "never" and the Gear stopped updating.
I use no lock screen at all, and I use HDWidgets instead of the stock weather app.
My watch updates just fine.

It still is pulling the weather from Accuweather; their logo is on the Gear's weather display. Since Samsung doesn't pre-install the Accuweather app it has to be the widget providing the feed. I use the HD Widgets weather widget instead of Samsung's and my Gear stopped updating the weather when I changed the lock screen weather update time to "never." It's now set "hourly" and that's how often my Gear updates. And the time stamp is always the same on both. Had you ever set the Samsung weather widget before using HD Widgets? I bet whatever that setting is/was is what the Gear is still relying on. I'm pretty sure the settings of the Accuweather widget, either home or lock screen, is what's providing the Gear with its feed.

Hi
I've had my Gear for a few days now and love it. But my notifications suddenly stopped working. Now the screens comes to life and silently just showing "New Notificaitons Received". I no longer get the icons for what the notificaiton belong to with a linc of directly opening the message.
Any ideas? My Gear is stock with latest firmware

Gear Manager - make sure "Notifications" tab is on (green). Tap to open and check all boxes of what you want are ticked on next page.
Also make sure that if you have any apps with notifications that the "More Notifications" tab is (green) open. tap to open and check any other apps you require notifications for. Then reboot both Gear and phone. If this doesn't work then you'll possibly need to restore Gear back to default settings and re NFC to your phone.
Thx for the input, but it turns out that my camera is deffective and everytime I invoke the camera, the camera-app crashes and exists. After that the notifications go away. Stranget but I then have to reboot the gear or resync it with the Gear Manager.
ps: Samsung support sucks, I bought the Gear in India on my last trip and cannot get warranty for it in Norway. wtf? Is Samsung a garage sale company or a huge world wide giant?

Hi
Does anyone else have problems with notifications? For me they work for few hours and then they stop working and only rebooting the phone fixes it.
It happened to me today...
Non of notifications alerted on my gear 2....
Restarting the gear, no change, restarting the phone... the notification is back
I do have notification but I don't get any details about it, no preview of the messages at all, just that I should check details on my phone... ridiculous! they do it on purpose...
I have found that I only get notifications on the Gear when the phone screen is on. If the phone screen is off, no notifications except Gmail.

With the new gear manager update i seem to be getting my notifications more consistantly, but also, like you, have lost all detail to them. Only the fact that I got a notification and what it came from (text, email,...). It no longer gives the text or email body.
I would love to hear if someone has a fix for this.

I'm getting exactly this issue.
Hopefully we'll see a fix for this. I'm sure Samsung is right on top of it.
:/
The issue is you updated galaxy gear manager.
There is a new setting in it to control it the notification has a preview, or just to tell which app gave the notification.
Seems like this setting only works for tizen os.
I updated to tizen using these instructions and all works again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-gear/help/how-to-properly-flash-tizenmod-t2886991
(kies3 wasnt recognizing my phone) .
Good luck.
I didn't feel the need to update to tizen. I liked android and my watch styler. But preview of messages is a necessity.

Weird. That option has always been available
I dont rememeber which thread i got this File saprovider , all you have to do is Force close GearManager , then uninstall Saprovider "settings > application manager " then install the one from link.
this should fix everything , stop battery drain and make it works as it should be, notification and media control ... etc
Just incase , stop auto update from samsung app market.
Tried the saproviders.apk mod, and it still didnt bring back complete notifications.
All WhatsApp notifications show as "WhatsApp" instead of the senders name, which is kinda useless.
Cant stop Gear Manager from updating, as there is no option.
If you hit cancel, it will exit. If you hit update, it will update even without samsung Apps, as it's updating independently now.
I know this because I don't have Samsung Apps on My phone.
yeah its damn force update again and mess up everything again
I'm getting notifications, but no popup on my gear. They show in the notifications app on the gear, though. Sad days...
A few days back my watch (Neo) stopped synching with S Health (long after updating the app and Gear Manager) - it just happened out of the blue. No reboots were able to fix this so I thought (yeah, should have known Samsung better) that if I reinstall S Health it might work again. BTW: all other sync activities DO work between the watch and my Note 3.
Lo and behold, after "Uninstalling app updates" I found myself stuck with S Health 2.5 (pre- Gear 2) and definitely NO way to sync as it takes me to a page to "update your Gear Manager to a new version" - which I already have.
Needless to say that S health reports "This is the most recent version" when I try to force an update. The app is NOWHERE to be found on their market. I tried the old "fitness" app (superseded by S Health later) and that doesn't work either for an update.
Last but not least I did try to unpair and pair again...no luck. I didn't factory default the watch as the problem is clearly on the phone side.
I started reading that this synchronization has been reported as broken by many....wonder how many here have the issue (pedometer, sleep, etc)?
Second...can a merciful soul upload S Health 3.5.1 maybe I can sideload it to my phone? Cheers!
/RANT: no wonder Apple is eating Samsung's lunch (even at home in SK) as I have not seen such a clusterf... of apps not working/pulled from market, updates that never arrive, etc. Bad, bad customer experience....100% disappointed with Samsung.
wipe the slate clean...and go on hating Samsung
Sort of fixed it...
Installed the 3.1 S Health version from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2750381&highlight=s+health&page=2
That was NOT synching either...so I thought I need to bite the bullet and wipe clean all the data from the watch and Gear Manager....that DID IT.
Super painful as I had a ton of apps and customizations and my life is better spent having fun rather than fiddling with the phone and watch, but ...that only makes me swear I will ditch Samsung next time around.
Hope this helps someone...someday
/EDIT Ok, that effing didn't last. Not only I lost most of my watch apps (how the [email protected] do I get them back when I cannot uninstall/re-install them ) including Watch Styler.
And the pedometer claims to sync but now it doesn't transfer any data.
[email protected] you Samsung.
Just in case....mind posting a 3.5 S Health if you have it?
Thanks

Well I suppose I have to thank myself. How I got S Health 3.5.5 back:
1. uninstalled Galaxy Apps update (back to ROm original version)
2. uninstalled any S Health updates
3. Allowed Galaxy Apps update
4. In my "Purchased" apps I found now thta S Health shows up and indicates an update is available
5. Forced the update and had to reconfigure my profile (lost all data) despite having a backup.
Hope this helps someone else fighting this horrible app.
Do you still have the synchronizing issue with S-Health? I cannot synchronize since the last update. Nobody seems to have this issue on this forum, but in France I know that a lot of people have this problem.

I had a similar issue after my S5 was upgraded to Lollipop. Turns out, I missed an Gear Manager upgrade along the way. Upgraded to the latest Gear Manager and that seemed to work. Now there is a firmware upgrade for the Gear 2 Neo that seems to make it work even better. Latest software: Gear 2 Neo - R381XXU0BOA2, Gear Manager - 2.2.15011799. S Health - 3.5.5.0036. I started searching trough the smali code to find out more about "Requested parameter [languageCode:nob] is undefined value."
Suddenly I thought "am I just making this more difficult than it is? I'll start by changing the language of the phone to English!"
And badabing.. suddenly S Health for the first time was syncing with my Samsung account... (attachment)
since many of the class call use langcode it wouldn't surprise me if missing langcodes could be a fundamental flaw in the S Health app design.

Mine is English too...always was. BUT...that being said, after the steps I listed above, sync seems to be working fine (knock on wood).
Samsung being Samsung, despite NOT having a scheduled sync set up, I do get a midnight notification "Please open the mobile app and set up a user profile" if no manual sync was done that day. Makes ZERO sense, as I do (obviously) have a profile and why on Earth would it tell me to open the "S Health mobile app" on the phone itself...it's not like I have one on the watch too. Semantics...
I need help with my new note 8. Just finish setup and find my stock weather app / widget wan't work. i got message "couldn't find location" (my gps working fine in maps, etc). Also when try to set location manual got message: "service is not available temporarily". I try everything, set permissions, clear in app data cash, reboot, finally upgrade my phone to latest "N950FXXU1BQK6_N950FOXM1BQK6_BRI" and have some problem.
If someone have idea what to do, pleas help me? Thanks

I've got the same problem. Brand new phone, yesterday. Done a few updates.
Never used Samsung before, so taking a bit of getting used to - still not created a Samsung account . No idea why I need this to download a theme?
Going through all the setups/ discovery process.

If others can say whether they have created a Samsung account, that may help.

I suspect that in some cases, samsung or carrier make all functions fully operational after you complete the initial set up procedure, depending on region/carrier, just a thought

Problem
Hi, I have a S8+ and I have the same problem. When I click the refresh button on the weather widget it says: Service is not available temporarily.
I am from Macedonia, and like the user from Serbia said, maybe it's a regional problem.
The weather widget on the home screen works for me with the latest update on my N9500.
The weather in Bixby home is unable to update. It worked before the November update.
