Hey guys. Been going back & fourth on whether I would fully skin my phone or go with a case. Last week I ordered the Bodyguardz full body clear skin.
Installed it last nigt
First Impressions....
You don't see the full benefit until a day or so later however my skin is already clear with no defects.
Previously had Xtremeguard which I did not like. Tried 4 of them & saw rainbow line defects on all of the screen protectors I ordered. Bodyguardz is clear & visible 8 hours after I installed with no water residue.
Texture:
The skin is smoother vs the Xtremeguard skin. Less orange peel for sure
Conclusion:
I'm satisfied with it & may leave it on for now. I do not like that the sides are not protected which you will see in the pic.
At this time, I don't think any company is making a full body skin that covers the sides from scratches. Kinda defeats the purpose huh?
Here are some pics
And some shots of the screen while on
Found out this skin can scratch. I've been using a small stylus pen for fun the last few days. Somehow between that & my business card holder, I've managed to imprint some surface scratches on the front protector
1 of them shows when the screen is on & is very irritating. Will post pics soon
Took a couple pics earlier...does anyone know if a plastic polishing compound can remove these scratches?
I always thought such skins are not really suitable for smooth operation on screen. Ya could have used a screen protector instead, but that's just my opinion.
Anyways, I ordered a carbon fibre armor white for my black G2 and intend to paste on the back only. I actually kinda like how the top edges split so you don't get funny overlaps.. but yea that area leaves unprotected..

That's what I found as well. I used the rear one as I like the rubbery non slip feel for the back, it solves the problem of the slippery plastic very nicely. But for the front screen that rubbery sticky feel was very depressing after the buttery smoothness of the naked glass. I still am in search of a screen protector with that glass feel.

I know how you feel. I like that this protector runs edge to edge but prefer the Crystal film type dry protectors. I had one on two weeks ago but it doesn't run edge to edge and leaves a gap at the top and sides.
Soon as someone makes a protector running edge to edge I'll grab it in a heartbeat

Yeah not going edge to edge is another deal breaker for me. I hate being able to see that I have a screen protector on, just looks cheapie.
I just got the LG G2 VZW (dry Install) Full Body ZAGG invisibleSHIELD® from Verizon. I'm coming from the Incipio Feather, which I really like too but it adds 15 grams to the weight and makes the device just that much wider.
So far I love the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD. It is unobtrusive and gives the phone a nice grippy feel. I would prefer a soft touch back but the ZAGG is actually better for gripping. I didn't bother applying the screen protector because the phone already has Gorilla Glass 3 which also feels really great.
Take care with installation, see that you have no dust - use scotch tape to remove any before applying.

Another thing I like about the ZAGG is that it doesn't cover the sides, it comes down the side just to the point where if it went further it would make the phone a tiny bit wider.

UPDATE: 05.08.15 - It's back in stock!
This came in the mail yesterday. Man, am I glad to get rid of that nasty CellBee [email protected]$$ tempered glass. I preordered this back on April 28, 2015, and as of today (05.06.15), they're sold out at Amazon, but I highly suggest to go to this link and preorder it NOW. I know Amazon only has 2 stars rating on it, but that's because the rating is shared with other products, especially that one that only covers the center. So here's my personal review. I hope it helps everyone who reads this. I will try my best to answer all of the questions posted.
Quality: ★★★★★
I've been a Spigen fan since my Galaxy S II. They're always top of the line, especially the "Crystal" line. You do get that crystal clear look, like it's not even there. The screen protector compliments the 5.1” Quad HD (2560X1440) Super AMOLED display of the Galaxy S6 Edge. It's as smooth as glass, no rubbery feel, and most of all, no orange peel effect. Because of the unique screen of this phone, the road to finding the best screen protector has been really hard. I've tried a lot of wet application screen protectors, and most of them really didn't provide what I was looking for. A lot of them are sticky, messy, have that orange peel look, and the wait time they ask you to endure after you install it just to make the screen protector "settle", is really a drag. Some take a couple of days, I've read and experienced some that took more than a week.

Installation: ★★★★☆
Since this is a dry install screen protector, the downside is that you have to have really steady hands. No troubles with aligning, since Spigen does provide you with sticker tabs that help you position the phone. The anchor did help to hold the screen protector in place while you slowly, ease it down with the squeegee provided. I did get a couple pieces of visible dust on it, but I managed to peel the screen protector off using the dust removal stickers, and they really work. I've seen an installation video from one of the comments, from another thread,( https://youtu.be/H_BioKpfav8 )and he mentioned that the sides lift off for him. Mine didn't. I didn't apply any solution to make it stick. I just followed the instructions, worked the bubbles out, and came out pretty good.
As you can see the edge here, no lift zone.
Look & Feel: ★★★★★
I can't stress this enough, it's really nice. Our phone probably is the best looking phone in the market right now, and I just think we only deserve the best protection there is. It's really smooth. I've used the phone outside, and it does help with reducing glare. Spigen didn't specify it, but it's not a fingerprint magnet either. It does get dirty from long periods of usage, especially if you have oily hands, but a quick wipe using a microfiber cloth will do the job. Here are some shots with the case on.
Here's a couple with the screen on.
Attached here is just a picture of some packaging of screen protectors and cases I've used. Don't forget to hit Thanks! :good:
I would be interested in an updated review after you've had it on for a week or two.
So for you this is just the best one right now
Cool, I'm glad I ordered one the other day. Thanks for the review!

smooth feel and not rubbery

I already have lolol, because if you go to their site you can see on their pictures ,some of them have the front camera cover and the front hear grill cover and some they dont. so i email them so we could know what we are ordering. im telling you guys i love spigen but they are dropping down the ball on quality and promoting their products...
good observation marcochapita
i don't know why mine is different from viciouspinoy
mine has come directly from spigen website and off course it's a original product with certificate of authenticity inside and everything.
If you watch better the box of viciouspinoy seems that the screen protector is not highlighted above the phone and also the 2 small icons in the left down part saw that the protector dosen't cover the front camera like mine.
like i have already wrote to another thread the front protector is amazing and it covers 100% the screen but the back doesn't cover all the surface of the phone.
viciouspinoy your back protector covers everything?
That's what I'm afraid I like yours tzitzos and I always buy from Spigen store on Amazon but I'm afraid I'm getting the one that doesn't cover the entire top like yours if you see the both boxes show on the Front the same cut on the top or yours shows the complete screen protector on the box that covers the entire s6 edge I'm asking you that because you didn't post any shots from your cover.

It's the Ringke Fusion - Smoke Black. It's great!
dbrand was kind enough to ship me some skins for review for both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
I figured I would post the reviews here on XDA to help the most people I could, here goes.
For the Samsung Galaxy S7 I have the Black Carbon Fiber skin, front and back, with accents.
For the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge I have the Blue Carbon Fiber with accents.
The skins arrived in simple plastic sleeves with a dbrand insert and the skin itself.
Once you open these the first thing you will notice is the skins have a texture.
The carbon fiber really looks and feels like carbon fiber.
The printing on these skins is second to none, they all look realistic.
The cutouts on the speaker grill, camera, and sensors are perfect.
The application of this skin is the easiest yet.
All you have to do is place the camera cover (accents) on.
Then just use the 3M paper to keep the entire skin from sticking as you align the camera cutouts.
Realign the paper sideways and align the bottom of the phone.
Remove the paper completely.
Finally use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat up the edges and press them into place.
I used a heat gun on the lowest setting, a hair dryer may take slightly longer.
Just in case you do not believe how easy the install is, I have made a video of me installing one.
Remember I have no extra experience doing this, it is this easy.
Installation video.
Once installed you will really see how perfect dbrand made these skins.
Every cutout and edge will be exactly where it should be.
There are no overlapped places or short edges.
I have used both Skickwraps and dbrand and in my opinion dbrand has done a much better job with their skins.
If anyone is considering skins, dbrand is the way to go.
At $9.95 for just the back and $18.95 for the back, accents, and front, these are a great price.

I hope this review will help someone.
Please ask any questions you want, I will try and answer if I can.
Here are some pictures of the final product.

PS I am still amazed at how exact the cutouts and sides are.
I have been really on the fence about getting one of these but the wood and carbon fiber skins have looked really good on video. I am hoping you can answer 2 quick questions for me. I had a carbon fiber skin on a previous phone and it made it a bit slippery. Considering how slippery the glass is on this phone do you think the carbon fiber improves the grip at all? I saw you said it has a texture does the pattern look as good in person as it does in pictures? Similar to laminate vs hardwood floors how you can tell the laminate is fake or does it look good.

The texture does add some grip to the phone, not a lot but much better than plain glass.
The pattern looks wonderful, the carbon fiber one I have looks like blue carbon fiber.
I have had the wood grain dbrand skins before and the texture seems to match up with the pattern and makes it look and feel realistic.
With the exactness of the cuts on the dbrand, I would put them a step above the competition right now.
How about the camera cut out? Looks so small.
Any inteferance with the camera with shadows on the edges?
First of all, thanks for putting this up, looks amazing! I've actually got the mahogany on mine (Front/Back) minus the camera cutout. My main cause of concern now is the screen.
Have you put on a screen protector while having the front on?
Either by applying directly over the screen protector or within the cutout space?

Thanks for the review. I ordered a DBrand skin and your spot on about the quality. The Carbon skin has a lot of texture and the light plays off of it beautifully.

I have installed two Dbrand skins already and on none of them I used a hairdryer or anything warm after applying the skins. Just pressed on the edges very firmly around the whole thing. No problems what so ever with lifting edges etc. the adhesive is very strong.

Pretty rad
I just got my Dbrand matte black skin, it was more time consuming putting it on than I thought but it looks great. I also didn't use a hair dryer and it came out just fine. Actually the adhesive is stronger than I expected, so even without the hair dryer step I doubt the edges will ever undo itself.
Even though mine looks real slick, a mahogany skin might be replacing the current black one. I'm waiting for a Luphie bumper ATM, so I'll see how it looks andfits first. But so far... I'm pleasantly impressed with Dbrand skins.
I live in desert area and there literally unlimited amount of sand everywhere!
can anyone suggest me a good tempered glass? I have checked some on amazon but reviews says they suck!
I have had two different TGSP now and they both End up the same. Does not stick to the edges due to the curved screen. But mine does not Collect lint at all even though it does not adhere to the screen.
I have not tested orzly or similar but they seem to work bad with cases so.. heard though that orzly were coming with a new model soon that is slimmer.
Tried a few, all junk.. Until i bought the orzly brand. The one with the black tinted frame.
I could be lucky but It fits perfectly, stick securely to the screen and is now holding for 10days of very heavy use without a scratch or bubble or anything.! Can be used with the original sandstone cover and does cover the whole screen!

I'm using Nillking 9H+Pro TGSP and I find it really REALLY nice. Little halo effect on both sides but is Silky smooth and covers a great part of the screen

Can you post pictures of it. How bad is the halo?

I think it is the best for phones with cases even though there are issues with the "Halo" and it doesn't go edge to edge. The edge to edge or full coverage tgsp pull up with cases.

It depends on how you are aligning the TGSP. For my personal preference I've installed it a little more towards the left side to maintain perfect readability and on the left I can see 1.5 mm halo effect that is like some 2.D visual bending effect. With the screen on you notice a some small rainbow effect but that is the only noticeable distortion. I will send some picture later
Has anyone tried the TGSP from OnePlus? Does seem to be on the pricier side, but since it's from OP, it shouldn't have any problems with fitting at least

This is like the only quality tgsp available in my area, so can you tell me, does it fit with casings like the tudia merge? Cause I'm thinking of buying/
Using Nilkin Amazing H+ PRO. It doesn't stick all the way because of the curved screen but it doesn't colect dust in those gaps. Actually no glass for OP3 sticks to the very end. It's all transparent (no black areas), and covers the front camera.
I saw this review and went for it. Can confirm that everything in the video is true.
EDIT: Can't confirm any compatibility with cases since I don't have and don't use any.
EDIT: Got a refund, the glass started to completely come off the top of the phone, and what with covering the notification light and a bit of the front-facing camera, that was the end of it.
I put the Pleison tempered glass protector on my OP3 yesterday; it's the 'new version' screen protector found on Amazon. It's OK, it covers the screen (I've also got it in a Spigen Neo Hybrid case), but the cutout for the front-facing cam isn't exact, there's a bit of 'shadow' on the right-side of the cam when you go to take a picture/video chat/etc. It also completely blocks the notification light, which is a PITA.
The top of the protector isn't 100% adherent to the screen, there's just a tiny bit of gappage that you can feel. Also, it makes it a little less than responsive when swiping down to open up the status bar/Notification Bar, you have to make sure to press a little harder than you normally would.
There was a little 'rainbow' effect going on when I first installed it, but that went away by the end of the day. All in all it seems like one of the better protectors out there, given Amazon reviews, but I don't think any company's got it down 100% yet. I have no idea why......

Brought the OnePlus TGSP with the phone a few months ago. The glass is the same size as the film that came with the phone, so it doesn't cover edge to edge. Pretty annoying because there's about 1 mm gap on each side between the edge of the screen and the TGSP. I haven't put it on yet.
It seems like all of the TGSP leave a halo effect based on the reviews.
I am using the Orzly glass and I am not fascinated about it.
Yes it covers the whole screen, yes it is compatible with the original OnePlus Snadstone hard case.
What i don't like is that it collects a lot of fingerprints thus making the screen hellish in direct sunlight. Add this to the clearly visible dots and one of the advantages of OP3 is gone.
I am still researching for a good TGSP and might try the new one from OP.

Yeah, I edited my original post; in addition to the blocked notification light and partially-covered front-facing camera, it started coming off the top of the screen even more. Got a refund from Pleson.

it does fit with orzly tpu case and the official karbon case, so it should fit with every other case
As much as I prefer tempered glass, I've given up on my search for a TG protector that fits, looks and feels right.
That being said, I'm now on the hunt for a wet application screen protector that offers the closest thing to edge-to-edge coverage as possible. I use an Elago case when I'm out and no case as all when home, so case-friendly is of no benefit to me.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations, shared personal experiences and pictures (if any)!

The problem with the wet ones is the pen leaves marked and not smooth
I have had the Spigen and the Skinomi. The Spigen one is very thick and always has an orange peel look to is. I have had the Skinomi V1 which fits with most cases and now have the Skinomi V2 which is more edge to edge. The Skinomi 'heals' a lot faster than the Spigen - yes it leaves pen marks but use the black tip and just wait a few, they do go away. The Skinomi is thinner and is very smooth so it doesn't have that orange peel look.
The V2 only fits with minimal cases, I have a Pitaka and it fits perfectly edge to edge of the glass. I had a Skinomi on my Note 7 and loved it, the only reason I started with the Spigen is that the Skinomi wasn't available at the time. At 2 for $7 on Amazon, it's hard to beat. Easy to apply and I do them super wet to allow for the best alignment. Added bonus, they do hide minor chips and cracks very well.
Skinomi V2 for Note 8 (excuse the pocket dust). I tried to show the most extreme angles and worst aspects, looking straight on it's perfectly clear.

Thanks for the input so far!
very happy with my screen protector from tech21.
I have used Armoursuit wet protector on my s7 edge and this Note 8....perfect install both times....never peeled up from edge...covers sides...and will work with case friendly...I have used pen and no marks on screen so far
Watch install video and use hair dryer to assist.
No other reason for me to get anything else..
Good luck
Had good luck with the Skinomi so far , works good with s pen. Just ordered an Armorsuit to try them out as well. Have used Armorsuit in the past with good results as well.

I went with the IQ Shield and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm actually not noticing any pen marks. Perhaps I'm not pressing as hard as others.
Does any one know if the IQ shield interfere with the samsung clearview official stand/case ?

I see you have that bad ass case on. mine is coming in monday I can not wait. Also I am getting the car mount with it.
Did anyone try the Armorsuite full body protector? Can you wonder around with it only and no cases?
After trying a lot of protectors and losing too much money. Nillkin TG is perfect in covering the whole screen with angles, it has black edges, compatible with all cases and the most important thing is that the sensitivity to touch is outstanding!

I gave up on glass screen protectors with curved screens. I can't stand the lip it leaves on the edges. Especially since I use multiple apps that I have to swipe from the edge. I have been using the Nano liquid screen protectors and don't have any scratches. Now I know it will not help if I drop my phone on its face. But something you just have to deal with. I did see this one called from simply carbon it's a flexible screen protector that you can hit with a hammer and it will not break. Has anyone tried one of these?
I put the Skinomi 2 on last night
I've never done a wet-application screen protector before and it was surprisingly easy. Today the bubbles are all gone except for one little dust spec that doesn't bother me. It works well with my new Spigen Tough Armor case. I'm happy with this combo

I just looked up the Simply Carbon Fiber screen protectors. Looks interesting. I just wonder if they are soft and the S-Pen will leave leave marks or not. They also don't look to be case friendly.

Are there any full body cases, which offer good protection, with built-in screen protectors that don't negatively effect the screen's responsiveness?
I currently have the i-Blason Ares case. And, while I like the case, and its slimness, the built-in screen protector makes the phone very difficult to use.
Thank you.

I'd have to disagree with this, the responsiveness for me with the Beetle was pretty bad especially when using the keyboard towards the middle of the screen. On the sides of the curved screen the case fit much more "tight" and seemed great but towards the middle it was horrible. I became annoyed with it within 24 hours and popped it out and installed the Skinomi wet install (case friendly) protector which fits great with the Beetle.

For me there are nearly no problems with responsiness, maybe because i used a similar case for my former S4 Device and so i subliminally use it with a little more of force.

Perhaps it's worth trying and returning if it's defective.
My mother uses this and she thinks it is fine but bulky..

Note: This has a Plastic Screen Protector with the Dot Matrix just like most of the Tempered Glass Screen protectors for the Note 8.
I, on the other use an X-Doria Defense Case (Carbon Fiber look case) + this so-so Tempered glass screen protector with the notch. I am somewhat regretting my decision.
Do most of the built in screen protectors suffer with dust ect getting underneath the protector?
I've tried both wet and glass with my spiegen tough Amor case and not happy with anything so looking at maybe getting something like this in the op
You can also try Poetic Guardian. Front cover has protective film (strong one, but not a glass or plastic strong). I was fairly surprised with how responsive it is. Just a minor loss at the bottom, really nothing to much.
Cheers,
Alex

Just got the poetic revolution just question has anyone applied a full cover glass screen protector and pipped the one that come with the case off as it's kind of rubbish
Main question is would the from of the case still fit on?
Anyone have first hand/personal experience with the i-blason magma case and can vouch for its sensitivity with and without s pen use? Thanks
I use a poetic guardian but I removed the plastic screen protector as I found it was more difficult to use the screen.
I used to have one of the full screen glass protectors on but I found they were not always sticking on correctly.
So now I use both. The guardian with the plastic screen removed sits over the glass screen with the added bonus of keeping it fixed as the case front covers some of the protector at the top and bottom so keeps it held down.
So far out of all I have used this is by far the best option and even poetic themselves suggested this.

I found it best to get the protector with the black surround as it does still look part of the case and its much easier to line it up
When you remove the original terrible screen protector from the case just make sure that you get all of the adhesive off (it just pulls off easily)
Hope this helps

Well finally fitted and a lot better now then the fitted screen protector feels nice to be touching glass again only thing is the protector I bought seems to be poor quality I'll wait till after Christmas and look at buying a better one
But after owning the s8 plus and now the note 8 and around 20 screen protectors including the whitestone I think this is up to now the best option
Do miss my spigen tough Amor but this is the best option up to now
