Has anyone messed around with the DPI? I used ROM Toolbox to change my DPI to 360 in build.prop. I get random FCs but have not narrowed it down to certain apps yet. I did use App Settings to change Contacts and Phone back to stock 480 DPI so it aligns correctly.

I increased by LCD Density from 161 to 180. It looks better, but there is a horrible lag now when switching between homescreens. It goes away when I set it back to 161. I am using ADW Launcher EX. All I did was change the "161" property in the build.prop -- is there something else I am missing?
i actually thought it performed better with a higher desnity for me anyway.
i went from 161 to 200 and it seems to be better.

Using 220 without any noticeable change is speed. (LauncherPro)
I am running CM7... does that change anything?
EVERY screen transition shows major stutter.
edit: Just installed Launcher Pro to test... seems to work fine. Problem with ADW paid version maybe???
edit2: It appears the widgets were the problem. I had to remove and restore all widgets so they rescale properly.
some honeycomb optimized apps (such as youtube and kindle) only work when you change the lcd density to 100 from the stock 120 using am app such as "LCDDensity" I was wondering if there was a way to change the lcd density upon opening these apps because changing the lcd density to 100 causes some other apps (such as google goggles) to stop working and also messes up the homescreen. thanks
Hi all,
I am still new to custom ROMs. Installed the King Droid custom ROM and am very happy so far. During installation I opted for 320 dpi mode. It looks great! There are a few limitations though, the default launcher will not appear correctly. I have been using Apex and Nova alternatively and both are working almost perfectly.
Any one else on 320 dpi, please share your experience. :cyclops:

320 is the default dpi for Note and TW launcher should not have any issues with it, are you sure you opted for 320? I guess you might have opted 240 dpi as TW launcher does not work properly on 240 dpi. Check your current dpi in build.prop
There is a warning while selecting 240 dpi mode in Kingdroid (Aroma) that TW will not work or something like that, you should have read that carefully , now either change dpi manually by editing build.prop or use custom launchers, and do not use any app to change dpi, you will end in bootloops otherwise.
Can anyone point me in the direction of an app that can change the resolution or dpi of the htc one? To me everything is just too big for the size. Having 1080p screen and huge icon doesn't make sense to me.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

Or you could install xposed framework with app settings module..
you aware that you need root for that, right?
I use two tools for that. Changing the DPI for the whole system can be done for example using Rom Toolbox Pro. (Performance -> build.prop Editor -> swipe to the left -> LCD Density)
This actually brakes Play Store, therefore i use the app settings module for xposed framework to give that specific app the original DPI so that i can download updates and stuff.
Sorry for the late reply, I just notice that my email address is wrong which is why I never received the notifications. Anyone I notice that sense does not play well with the dpi chances. Everything gets jammed up in the top left corner of the screen, So its more like the sense launcher does play well with dpi changes which sucks.
I've recently upgraded to 5.0.1 on my N910H. I always previously changed my DPI, but without (yet) Xposed App Settings to sort out the misbehaving apps, I was worried about Lollipop.
I've now changed my DPI to 480 and TouchWiz Lollipop is at this DPI is not too bad.
What doesn't look correct:
Launcher
Camera
Dailer
What does look great:
Pretty much everything else including
Floating SMS
Contacts
Logs
Calculator
Samsung Keyboard
Lockscreen
Settings
I can live with the dialer and camera looking odd until either Xposed is fixed for TouchWiz or someone mods it. You also use Google Camera instead. For the launcher I use Nova.
How do you change your DPI to 480 ?
Is there a special root tool ? Or manual on the config ? If config, what did you change ?

Change it in the build prop text. I use root explorer but I am sure most file explorers will work too
Right, I changes it with "ROM tool box" but a lot off apps looks strange no alternative to app settings for me
The camera app's dpi you can adjust with "App Settings", available for download as an xposed module. I've set it the camera app dpi back to 640 and that works like a charm.
I've been using nova launcher for some time now and had no problems with changing overall dpi.
The dialer on the other hand still looks "odd" . Still looking for a solution for that but as you also said: "i can live with that"
Edit:
I've been to quick . There are/were compatibility issues between xposed and lollipop, not sure if app settings works with lollipop

Which apps look strange? For me it's only the dialer and Camera.
