[CLOSED]Overwriting CWM with TWRP - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So at present I have a HTC one on HTC_001 soffed hboot 1.54 using 'rumrunner'. I have CWM recovery and have made 4 nandroid backups, which I can see have backed up, by when I click on restore from backup I see the corresponding backups. But I would like to take these off of my phone to put on pc but for some reason I cannot view them through pc usb mass storage. Now I would like to try twrp to see if I can make a stock backup on there before I install rom's firmware etc. Can someone help let me know what's what. Thanks

I do believe CWM has usb connectivity in recovery mode, but don't quote me on that.

[TWRP] where's my backups?

Ok guys, I'm new to this device but not HTC or twrp. So I just unlocked, s offd, rooted blahblahblah. The normal.. downloaded trickdroid, and ofcourse made a backup of my stock att....before I flashed trickdroid, as always I wanted to make sure I had a backup ready just incase so I went into restore in twrp and nothing is there.. now, i know I made 2 backups, one from when I initially rooted and one just after downloading trickdroid so, I rebooted, checked in esfile explorer under twrp and both of my backups exsist there but not in the restore section of twrp.. what am I missing here? They can be seen in the install section of twrp but can't be flashed ofcourse as they aren't .zip files, so where and how do I restore if shtf...? Tia... See Pics attatched...

Use root explorer...TWRP/backups...
If they are not there...I'm not sure but you may not have them
I know they are there, I can see them in both twrp under the install tab an in es. My question is why arent they showing under the restore tab of twrp..? I know they're there, in twrp backups, but, once again, they do not show "restore" in twrp where they should be showing...

Have u gone from 4.2.2 back to a 4.1 one Rom? I know on the note 2 flipping back and forth would screw it up like that.
Yes, went from stock 4.1.2 to 4.2.2.....

Root/sdcard/twrp should be the path so the twrp folder should be in sdcard. Is that where it shows it?

Wiped my internsl memory by accident.

I remembered a little while back a thread to get me back and running. This is for my htc one. Anyone know the link. I hit the search bar and I think I just too nervous to focus and find it.

Use ADB to sideload a rom then you can transfer your TWRP backup to the device and go from there.
here is the guide to sideload

Don't you have to physically type yes in to wipe your internal memory?
can't you just boot into recovery, mount Internal memory, copy ROM into your phone and flash the rom?
I have never been in that situation but what about this:
I know that in TWRP recovery there is an option to acces USB OTG. I have one of those little adapters that I connect to my flash drive to save my nandroids and stuff like that. If you wiped your INTERNAL and EXTERNAL storage would you simple be able to mount the USB OTG and flash a ROM from it?
I'm guessing that it wouldn't be that simple...however, if anyone has any actual info on this please share.

No.

Easiest way is to download the toolkit and sideload a rom

Lost root???

Hi.....i unlocked bootloader on my international HTC one, rooted, installed TWRP recovery, and just flashed Elegencia 12.0. All went well, but I lost root. Don't really understand why? Can anyone explain to me so I can fix this? I did have CWM to begin with, which had the option to root when I was in recovery, I chose "yes" but decided to change to TWRP. Is it okay to root while running a custom ROM?

Just put a superuser zip on your sd card and install it from twrp reboot and you should be good

I would've suggested trying to copy the backup you see in root browser to the external sd, you mentioned you installed to stock slot and wiped and every now and then ss does that, sometimes it erases your internal sd and maybe what you see in root browser are the "corpse" of the backup you made. Try to get an ex sd will save you a lot of headache in the future.

HTC One not booting

I wiped my phone completely (including internal storage) and after that I flashed ARHD 81.0 but now the phone isn't booting up. I tried flashing it twice but it didn't make a difference. Any suggestions people?
I'd be obliged if someone helps me turn the phone on properly.

yes, look at your other thread, the one just above this one
EDIT: now that I replied here, your other thread is actually below this one
CWM recovery will not work for 4.4+ ROMs
When I was trying to push the Rom to my phone, it was not happening with TWRP, that's why I switched to CWM and not it isn't booting up.
What do you suggest doing now?
