Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- Maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- Originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- Aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
Features
-Stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
-Enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
-Custom written CRON and init.d.
-UI and graphics improvements
-Custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
-Improved notification handling
- Lockscreen notifications
- Rewritten Halo
-Usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
-Animation control
-Improved Vanir keyboard
-CM's profiles & quicksettings
-Additional quicksetting tiles
-Immersive desktop
- A combination of immersive mode and expanded desktop
-Statusbar mods
-Clock & battery mods
-Lockscreen blur and other mods
-Busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
-Yatta yatta yatta
-More to come when i feel like updating the op

F2FS Support
- What is F2FS?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F2FS
- Does F2Fs improve performance?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697069
see for your self
- Is it dangerous?
No, android is fully compitable with F2FS
But do keep in mind EXT4 is still more stable, and F2FS is developed by samsung(samsung is crap)
Worse case scenario is an encrypted device, wich can be fixed with a hard reset
- What one shouldn't do:
Flash F2FS kernel on EXT4 formated devices and vice versa
so if youre on F2FS, and if you want to update your rom,
make sure you should the F2FS kernel after
I'm working on a script that makes one kernel support both filesystems
but it isn't ready yet.
How does one make it's phone F2FS?
- Back up everything to your pc (including your internarl storage)
- Download recovery and kernel
- Flash my TWRP
- Go to wipe
- Format data
- Now go to wipe/advanced wipe
- Check data
- Click repair or change file system
- Change it to F2FS
- Now do the same for /cache
- Now flash the F2FS kernel
- Reboot and profit
- How does one know he has succelfully formatted /data and /cache to F2FS?
Use adb shell or terminal emulator
execute "mount" and you can see you file system.

The D800 may just need a kernel that has loki baked into it. If the developers of this ROM would make a boot.img with loki built in then I would flash it. Already recovered from a bad CM flash so know how to repair phone :=)

Not exactly, the D800 has an extra mic the D802 doesnt have, so the code needs to be fixed for audio to work, and the kernel needs the ATT specific DTB attached to it, Dalingrin is currently sorting out Tmo (D801) issues and after that he has said he will try to work on the ATT version, I'm assuming Arcee will be helping as well, but not sure as I've only spoken to Dalingrin.
What's the issue with the home key? Would love to try this.

no the current testing build of cm for D801, has issues, but it looks like a device maintainer for 801 has just been found recently and will be taking point of the build, apparently it is almost done. so hang in there, last to get builds are gonna be ATT and Sprint.
Well that's weak sauce

Did, but more input the better. Has the slanted graphics issue that we saw on the first builds of CWM and CM.. Try it, you'll see.. and the phone is actually booting (you'll see it under device from pc when booted) Just can't get adb working yet but I'm sure he'll crack that nut as well.
When I do a . build/envsetup.sh I get 2 git errors.
Don't think that would cause this issue but we only had that with the original jfltespr repo.
So I guess I have some digging to do into this.... when time allows.
going to give this a try right now, will get back to see if the calls work soon.
Update: didn't boot up. I got a black screen and that is it right after the Samsung logo came up

It is but it's not out in their public repos. Caused a bit of problems because they made some commits publicly and some not.
Anyhow it looks like we have a few issues. PA's ramdisk gets distorted boot animation (like we saw with early CM testing) and then goes to black. Think I can get that one into ADB with same edits. Flash CM kernel and no boot animation but USB init goes through - just as mtp (not mtp,adb like in recovery)
So, making a change to CM the init file to start adbd. That ought to get us far enough to peek in and see what's going on. Obviously something is different between the two kernel ramdisks causing a display change.
so it's normal that it's not booting? or should it be booting by now?

It's normal based on current results for it not to boot. That's why it's at Alpha development.
In all honesty I should downgrade it to Pre-Alpha because Alpha suggests it would boot successfully.
Don't worry, when it boots and we get some functionality I'll promote it to Beta testing.
If this CM kernel + AOSPA ROM gets us ADB I'll post that for people to go in and collect logcats.
That may help us track down the issue to at least get display going.

Thanks for the clarification! I can't wait to be able to run this ROM. I would wanna help with logcats but I have no idea how to do any of that.
OK, finally took a peek at this. Turns out there's something wrong with the kernel/ramdisk for sure. System is not mounting, shell folders within /data didn't exist.... which means even the init scripts didn't get far. ADBD did start so it's a clue as to how far it got.
Unfortunately since it's not as far as I hoped it is being downgraded to Pre-Alpha status.

There are three options:
1. Proxuser had bad luck at compile time, meaning that at the moment he synced, the sources where bad. Unlikely, because cyanogenmod sources are most of the time intact, but possible.
2. You messed something up. Meaning: Did a dirty flash over another ROM or something else.
3. The kernel is screwed up, but as Proxuser only did changes to governors, this is really really unlikely.
The reason why there are only this three options:
The build i did myself today works fine.

From top of my head I cant think any reason why unofficial roms couldnt have anything the dev wants in them, not like there's some cmod police coming after you if you put custom kernel on your cmod.
What is that fast charging anyways? Is it harmful for the battery life?

Basically you can do whatever you want as long as you release the source. Just fork it and dive right into it.
Fast charging is not harmful for batterie, as it only tricks USB ports into giving 1A instead of the maximum defined in the definition.
Don't know how to say this. But actually, sir arco68 didn't like this unofficial release. And yet, it is based on arco68 sources. Can't you guys wait patiently until the official one release? If possible, please close this threde. Sir arco is working really hard for official release. But you guys just take it easy.

What so your saying give all the attention to arco? Arco is great but people are allowed to try something new too.

Yeps, if arco only wants to release full working roms it's ok. But you can't really blame if some people don't need a rom with everything working. Nobody is taking credit away from his work anyways

OK so while flashing encountered some errors. TWRP 2.6.3.4 gives FAILED and philz gives a status 7 error. I ignored them and booted and the os was installed. Another thing is that there is no camera app. It is in system but it doesn't show up in drawer or anywhere. Thanks for the rom!

Thank you for the feedback, I use TWRP and there has been an issue where if you wipe system TWRP has an issue formating it while it is mounted so if you manually unmount /system that should take care of it. I would guess the missing camera could be an issue with the flash.

Checked in the mounts and system wasn't mounted. Ticked and unticked and it still had the same issue after flashing. I'll post here the flash log when I get home in a couple of hours
Alright, I have an updated build using IllusionRom's kernel and the SaberMod 4.7 Toolchain. This, to me, has been the fastest and most stable my G2 has run, I have had this tested on every G2 variant and so far it seems to be stable and run well. If you are feeling up to it please try the OTA, if not I will post links a bit later tonight.
Please feel free to give me feedback on the OTA experience and how the kernel works for you.
Changelog is in the OTA, to manually update go to Settings > About Phone > LiquidSmooth Updates if it does not show 3.0-20140331 use the menu to Refresh.
Thanks for checking out my build and I hope it works as well for you as it has been working for me!
I was hopping roms the last few days because of the call echo. Is that fixed in d802? I really need my daily Dosis of liquid.
Edit : nvm, looks like i can't tell the difference between d802&d803

I know all I've been doing is posting bugs but I have to report my findings haha
When I go to Liquid OTA it says
"Unsupported Rom: The ROM developer has not enabled support for the OTA Updater! Please ask them (Kindly) to add support before using this app!
(otaupdater.otaid value empty or missing)"
I press "Ignore" and head to where the OTA should be. Pressed refresh a couple of times and it didnt show anything.
Thanks for showing interest in one of the variants that has gotten the least support compared to other variants. This looks promising!

I must have screwed something up when I added it to the OTA.
No problem, I am just glad you are responding and giving feedback.
Edit: OTA should be fixed in the next build. The OP link has been updated.

Hm, I'd like to know what have been the results for other users. I flashed the latest 31/3 one and got the same failed, flashed gapps after, booted, same camera issue and when I went to the OTA updater it gave the same "device not supported" message. Apart from that, the rom is completely fine.
I took the d802 version, changed the updater-script and flashed Furnace 1.8.1 on top of it, and so far so good, no issues on the d803. Loving the work you've done on it, will use that one from now on

Sorry, I meant the build after 31/3 will have a working OTA. If really like to hear from others as well. ~30 people have downloaded it so someone other than you should have installed it by now.
I will look at the build.prop and configs to make sure something wasn't missed in the bring up.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.1 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
* Your warranty is now void.

* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

This rom is nice so far! Ive been testing for the past 3 hours and other than what u reported already, I changed the dpi to 260 in the settings for better screen size. disable hw overlays removed blur in middle of screen. I checked Bluetooth and it worked just fine. Gps on google maps also works fine. I downloaded kernel auditor on play store to change some kernel settings like added swapfile, io scheduler, cpu gov to on demand... just some performance preferences. Everything is smooth other than flickering which I wanted to ask u, what rom is this kernel from? Cuz if its from the link u pointed out on GitHub then that's where ill start. But its 3am by me so I guess I should go to bed. Tomorrow Ill get started with a new build environment and so on.... Again way to go on the port! I think if youre bored I think you can write a good guide on how to port roms .

The Kernel is from this rom CM11 by @sharkboy0901
here is his github kernel source: CM11 Kernel Source "This branch is even with xInterlopeRx:cm-11.0" forked from xInterlopeRx.
sharkboy is offline since :
25th February 2015 10:03 AM
@interloper he has visited xda forum Recently :
19th December 2015 10:57 AM (chances are there to meet this boy).
@lilferraro i hope You Can do Better!
As for port. There are many guides. i don't know much, and have difficulties to post tutorials.
This is my Second Ported ROM and the easiest Device because of Galaxy S4 mini and galaxy Mega 6.3 has almost same hardware so just needed to replace few things. ( I requested the devs of these two devices to make a kernel for our devices but didn't agreed. @Silesh.Nair this dev is very famous, he told he don't have time for devices he don't have. But i saw his work for s4 mini and i think he don't have that device too)
I have ported Blisspop Version and RR of CM12.1 which has many Options to Customize.
Here is CM10 Build CM10 which has no flickering.
EDIT: FLICKERING IS FIXED NOW.
I've been waiting a long time. Nice share.
I hope soon income seamlessly version.
I'm sorry I'm on the bad english.
Thank you...
Very nice to see

Awesome work man. Keep it up this is great so far. Let me know of you need any help. I build roms for the nexus 6 nexus 7 Galaxy s6 edge and the note 4 at the moment would love to lend a hand or finger I should say if need be lol.
Honestly this ROM actually hauls ass to other than the flickers of the screen which I'm assuming would be related to a kernel thing other than that though this rom is pretty solid. Who really uses the camera on a tablet anyways lol.

From Terminal app enter the following command with root privileges:

settings put secure dev_force_show_navbar 1
It didn't work. All It did was make apps think it was using it butifyou combine it with this line in the build.prop:

CyanogenMod 12.1
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
This works only on hllte, hlltexx, hl3g, hl3gxx.
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

@FireLord phone beech diya its to late
Hey FireLord, thanks a lot man! I'd seriously given up any hope for ever having CM on N3N, I was actually thinking of purchasing a new phone but i didn't, only because you were working on CM. Its great to see it finally booted up.
As i can see right now, most of the core functions still don't work so i don't think I'm gonna be using it for now, but i'll definitely keep an eye out for future updates. I really wish i could help out but I'm not really a dev so I'm afraid i can't do that but I'll cheer you on for sure!
*fingers crossed* Hope you can get the Camera, Audio and RIL working soon enough.
Once again, Thanks a lot bud!
