One of the many ROMs i've tried had this feature in it. When you have an app open you can press the back button to force close it. Unfortunately i dont remember which ROM this was, but hopefully some here can help me out with this. Is there any way i can have this feature in any ROM i install or is this something specific to some ROMs?
Thanks a lot for any help provided!!
I believed it's a GB 2.3 feature
Settings>Applications>Development>Stop app via long press.
Hey thanks a million baseball!!!! Thanks for the quick reply, i feel dumb for not checking the settings first! :/
Running stock 2.3.3 and can confirm it's not there. It used to be in CM6.1.1, that's all I know for sure.
Im running an AOSP 2.3.2 with CM and its there. I'm super happy with this build!! no phone wonkiness, battery life is awsome, and it moves very smoothly!
It's a CM feature...
Also in MIUI.
I confirm, it's a MIUI feature
Can be found in most of the recent roms now. Especially the gingerbread ones.

Well, I'm pretty sure it was introduced in CM and then copied to MIUI but then again they share code from time to time so it doesn't matter.

Probably because almost all roms on XDA now just copy CM pretty much straight up.
This thread is just so xda members can easily find all work for the HTC Desire C in one easy place. At this current moment it is quite difficult to find threads regarding this device as it currently does not have a forum.

Overclocking
Has anyone tried overclocking this phone yet? I am really new to much of this custom rom/rooting stuff so I wouldn't even know if there was a basic way to overclock easily.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

Ive successfully compiled kernel with ndk problem is it lacks 2 modules ath6kl_sdio and compat also it have 24 modules compiled that is not needed. Those 2 missing modules are required to run wifi, but it boots. Desire c Source code must be messed up.
Got the Wifi working now, and the Desire C is running at 800mhz, seems stable to me.
Struggling to get past 800, I'm not sure whether theres a lockdown somewhere.
the golf kernel source code doesn't have this folder drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath6kl/sdio.c so how can it compile it see here did you have 4 modules built including compat.ko?

Are you saying your phones capacitive buttons do not light up or are you asking for on-screen buttons?
the capacitive buttons do not light up
I do not think they are supposed to. Mine won't light too.

i just read this>> http://www.htcforums.com/other-htc-devices/10828-htc-desire-c-home-keys-not-lighting-up-2.html
so i dont know what the hell it has or not
Just checked the thread you gave.
I'm really disappointed by the HTC guys. Straight answer would be great, but instead of that they don't even know what the hell is happening.

i think wee need to disassemble our device to see if it has LEDs behind the touch or it is soft related problem )
Try using this app to toggle the lights on: http://localhostr.com/download/rXV2Pmu/KeyLights-0.2.apk
Should hopefully show if the lights work or not.
Added Stamford Kernel to the OP
Nope it wont work, modules are to be compiled with kernel, otherwise it would be error.
Hello,
I've very weird problem. I can't type right upper most alphabet on keyboard (ie "P" or "З" in russian). If I type "P", it shows "O".
I've tried other keyboards like swiftkey 3 , iTap keyboard but it's the same. can't type the alphabet "P".
I've also tried full wipe and flashing again. formatting SD card. but no luck.
I've tried re-calibrating keyboard in input setting. but it works for a few times. now i'ts not working again. When I type "P", it shows up "O"
Anyone ever had that kind of issue? software related ? hardware problem?
ံHow can I fix it, please?
I've tried in developer options and enable "show touches" and pointer location". But it doesn't fix anything. It just shows where I touch. No touch shows when I type "P" or sometimes appears "O" (nearest one).
Seriously, guys... I can't type "P" alphabet.
Is that possible that a tiny particular part of display screen is dead????
Help me, please.
Any suggestions or help would be very appreciated.

I first noticed on Nik's rom 4.0. so I wiped everything and flashed again (nik's rom 4.1). But it doesn't go away.
So, I changed back to ARHD but still unsolved. so, practically it happens in all roms.
That particular part of touch screen around "P" or "0" is dead?
hoping any solution urgently!! can't use daily apps without "P" or "0".
With regards,

Try cm7. There's a dev tools app on it that can show you pointer location. Might be the 2 roms (both sense ics) you tried have screen or keyboard alignment issues.

Not CM roms. Without sense they are usually around 90 MB.
Chk out the list of roms from their page.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=vivo
CM 7 ROMs are very small in size compared with other ROMs
Its the sense ROMs and all the bloat that builds up
About the keyboard, its been happening on every ICS ROM with the HTC 3.0.16 kernel, so I'm not sure if its actually linked to that..

Yeah I notice this issue too on UKB Evolution. Normally on the A or P keys. It might just be my finger. Works a lot better when I try to type slower though. Might just be phone lag.

And I have have never had that issue and currently running Nik's ICS 4.1 rom. I hope you get it resolved without having to send it for repair but it really does sound like a bad touch screen issue.

I used to flash a lot of custom roms these days, maybe all custom roms on development section. esp ARHD & Nik's rom back and forth
My phone ends up like that..
So, take care, guys.

I also have a similar issue, but on "A, O, H" and delete key (ICS stock keyboard).
I've tried CM7, Nik's v4/v4.1 ROM, Virtuous Quattro and the issue exists on all ROMs. It starts when the screen dims/sleeps with the keyboard open.
I've tried MIUI and the issue is somewhat tolerable, it rarely happens and turning or and on the screen fixes it right away, unlike in other ROMS
I've tried other kb apps and it still persists. Also, it happens both on portrait and landscape mode.

Have you tried MIUI 2.8.10 or higher? In MIUI it's almost non-existent for me. So I'm sticking with this ROM for now, until it's fixed. As much as I love Nik's ROM, it really annoys me when my keyboard becomes laggy and unresponsive when I type.
If nothing works you can try a radical method - run a ruu

No, these kinds of custom tweaks will not work on a stock ROM.
