This purpose of this thread is to discuss the pricing and availability in the Netherlands.
Will we, as always, be overlooked again by Google and get the N5 during springtime with an extremely inflated pricetag?
Or will Google see us Dutchies and release it through the Play Store?
Nexus 5 is available here:

No way is Google going to be looking at The Netherlands, unfortunately. I'm going to Germany on the launch date as I'm sure we won't be able to purchase the device through the Play Store. Also, if regular webshops order a couple of devices, they'll price them at above €500,-, as they did with the Nexus 4.
Hoping Google will prove me wrong!

How? It would save me some trouble! Do you need a British Google account? And how is the shipping and how much does it cost?

I ordered my Nexus 4 in the UK. I did it through a friend who lives there. I ordered it myself through a proxy server and used his address for the shipping. The first time (before I had to RMA) I could order with my own dutch creditcard. When I had to do an RMA because of a defect I had to order with a card registered on the same address where the phone will ship (Had to use the card of my friend). I think that this is still necessary. For the shipping to The Netherlands my friend used royal mail and it was about 10 Euro.

2-4 days maybe?
Nou ik ga hem in ieder geval niet kopen voor de achterlijke prijs van 459 euro, een ritje naar Duitsland misschien... (Mediamarkt Nordhorn?)
Well I am not gonna buy it for the extremely high price of 459 euros, maybe a trip to Germany...
Sounds like a roadtrip. I'm driving to Germany and get myself one there. You're all welcome to join!
If it has to go through the Playstore, I'm getting it from France through a friend.
Why don't I have friends in abroad country's?
I could easily get it from the USA. The problem is, I'm not sure if the version sold in the USA supports the LTE frequencies in The Netherlands. As of now, we have no clue as to which version Google actually released. Are they two separate versions or is a single version that supports all the LTE networks across the globe...
I am wondering about the bands as well, also does anyone have experience buying it through a friend and having it sent to you? Last time I bought t-shirts from the US, I had to pay the same amount as the t-shirts were in import taxes. I am kinda trying to not pay double the Google Store price
ps. Belgium here.

I don't know how long it's going to take or if the price is worth it but Negri Electronics has the HTC Incredible S available for pre-order. $629.50 is a bit steep for me but I am still tempted to get one.
The pictures they use are for the Droid Incredible and the specs don't mention AWS support but that could be because whoever made the webpage for it didn't know any better. So, in case anyone is interested, here is the link:

This is the cheapest I've seen so far. I asked them when they would get stock, but they don't know.
still not sure it working on usa tmobile 3g?!!
It looks like this phone is now available to order as the pre-order button is now gone. Price also went up by $10.
The specs sheet on HTC's site lists AWS as one of the 3G bands:
http://www.htc.com/www/product/incredibles/specification.html
My understanding is that is what T-mobile USA uses.
Pocketnow has received one of these from Negri Electronics for review.

Anyone have a favorite website that you'll go to to buy this phone?
I usually buy my unlocked phones in person, but I'm trying to avoid tax in Illinois...
I'm thinkin of just ordering it on ebay. $600 doesn't seem to be a bad deal... just trying to get myself to pull the trigger over my G2. =\
Anyone knows if this phone from Negri Electronics will work in Europe??
Thank you

I notice that a lot of their specs are weird on that site. A lot of the phones on their site is listed as not being compatible with US 3g. For example, The N8 is listed as not working on US 3G, even though it's a pentaband.
http://www.hi-mobile.net/nokia-phones-n8
I'd suggest emailing them first to make sure the specs for the phone before ordering.
I also noticed that shipping is $22. Kinda expensive, but still the cheapest I've seen.
I've never ordered from them before
plemix.com also has it for 580 us
How fast do HTC phones fall in price? I'm on the fence about the $600 price tag for the Incredible S?
Does this site ( hi-mobile.com) accept international credit cards ? I tried to search on FAQs section about that and I couldn't find my awnser.
I already bought it from amazon but this site linked has very suspicious low prices
Edit: the least prices I could find are from amazon.com 619 $ and the lowest buyout from eBay also 619 $ but the seller from Hong Kong so expect shipping fees depending on your countey/state.

I plan to buy and HTC One ASAP but prefer an unlocked version. Does anyone know if the LTE on an unlocked HTC One that I buy in the US or UK would be compatible with US AT&T. Is there a specific HTC One model number that would guarantee US AT&T LTE compatibility? Any recommended source for purchase?
The same question here also, but on Bell in Canada.

Won't work on bell. If you check the ltecovere map on Bell' the 3600 mnz band(150 Mbps) is very limited. Rogers got it covered in GTA, and expanding further in coming May. I even talked to s Bell rep, and he said that the 2600 MHz band is only for late rocket USB sticks on their network, no smart phones for now.

Hold off buying the Int'l version. 2600 only LTE will not work on AT&T (which is the only NAM LTE band the Int'l version supports).
Right now all the online sources (like Clove, Negri, Expansys, Handtec) are selling the Int'l version.
As I believe OP is based in the US, what you really want to wait for is the Developer's version, which will have 64GB of storage and AT&T-compatible LTE.

Developer Edition will be direct from HTC.
AT&T has announced they will have a 64GB carrier version, but timing is still unknown. Pre-Orders started today for the 32GB AT&T version.
I'm looking at http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/phones/xperia-z1/specifications/#tabs LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20), http://www.gsmarc.com/sony/xperia-z1/reviews/ and http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5627.
It seems unlocked Z1 shouldn't have problem supporting T-Mobile LTE in USA. Is that correct or is there still a chance that somehow unlocked (international) Z1 won't support LTE on T-Mobile?
I showed a T-Mobile rep the list of bands and frequencies, they said it shouldn't have any problem connecting to their LTE. That's obviously not a direct conformation that it will, but they said they would do everything they can if there is a problem. I do know a rep will say almost anything to get you on their side of the force but she was looking at bands with me on her computer and getting other people over as well. Only time will tell. Mine ships out the 16th from the UK to the States.
It will most likely work.
Also they are expecting it next week any day.

I'm looking at Negri Electronics but wanted to know if there is better deal out there
I grabbed mine from unlocked-mobiles.
They start shipping out the 16th which is, I believe, 4 days before Negri. I got the UPS 2-3 day shipping. When I priced out Negri it was a total of $38 less which wasn't enough for me to cancel my order that is already processing.
they expect a shipment any day next week.

Got mines from HandTec UK for the same reasons you've stated. I'm now trying to decide whether or not to use or sell the Smartwatch 2.
I got mine from unlocked-mobiles.com and it ships tomorrow. When the Smartwatch 2 is released on the 30th that gets shipped for free and in phases over £100 free content. I'm in America.

For anyone who cares the Nexus 5 is officially out in Hong Kong. Its being sold by LG, rather than Google. Price is around HK$3,800 - 3,900 depending on where you buy it. Big name retailers such as Broadway are selling it. Only the 16GB model is presently available.

no. LTE wont work in North Americia. But 3G will work of course.
Damn. I had a feeling LTE wouldn't but was holding out hope. Oh well, guess I'll have to play the patience game some more..
Hond Kong LTE use band 3, and the US version of Nexus does not support that.
But does anyone know on the UMTS 2100, is HSPA supported by the NEXUS 5?
wonder when nexus 5 32 gb will release in hong kong.. right now for that price its still a steal!
heard from wilson guy that around nov 20 there will be google play order available in hk, with price around HKD3200..
dont yell at me how ridiculous this may be.. im just repeating their words..
is this really possible (that google play order is coming to hk)?

HK Google Play store would be a very welcome development.
I think I am probably going to wait it out for around a month or two and hopefully the N5 price is drop a bit or at least a 32GB model will make its way to HK, otherwise seems the Oz store has the best value at the moment.
Fortress
Dear All,
I was at Fortress MK (MK New Century Mall) and they are selling it for $3,880.00. The guy says ONLY 16GB and I asked about 32GB and he said no. I don't believe him since he had to check 5 minutes to give me a price on the N5. Late Nov. HK PlayStore have it? I highly doubt it. I'm waiting till close to Christmas to buy it as the price will go down and retailers will have discounts.
if u go to "smaller" shops in mongkok/wanchai etc. the price is now in the range of 3700+..
Make sure..

Yes, parallel import will be cheaper in price but watch for what you get. Remember, US version (D820) won't work in HK for LTE. We have (D821) which is international version to work for Asia. I would stay with Fortress, Broadway etc. to be safe.

As long as the smaller shop confirms its HK stock and you can get local warranty through LG I don't see an issue buying through them.
Remember the D821 is also being sold in Australia where the price is actually quite comparable to the North American prices. But you won't get local LG warranty if you get that.
Was at Broadway Shatin on Friday, asked if 32gb was available, sales said usually Hong Kong only get one version.
Agreed that it is expensive to buy from them, if really available through Play Store at end of November then Ill be one of the first to buy from there!
Was just in WCC.
Asked two shops for price, one said HK$4.2k the other said HK$3.9k!!!!! Local stock.
Wasn't going to buy and was in a bit of a hurry so didn't ask around too many places or try and negotiate for price.

the difference is the LTE bands, pakistan does not have any 4g (last time i checked), it has recently (last 5-8 years) got 3g so i think both should be ok
i am from the uk and when i go pakistan (sargodha and lahore) all of my uk phones work there, nokia, iphone, nexus 4 so it is up to you which you buy
