So I got my HTC One to be rooted and installed ViperOne3.0 ROM into it. Now the phone is only recognized as a camera on my PC when I plug it in via USB. I can transfer files from the phone to the PC, but not from PC to phone. Really weird!
So since Android 4.3 or higher no longer supports mass storage capability, what do you guys recommend to transfer files from PC to Android?
Thanks.

I do not know where did you got that info, but I'm running 4.3/Sense 5.5 as well and MTP Storage mode works without any issues.
Maybe it is a ROM setting?
Yes, drag and drop files from / to phone without any problems with 4.3 Rom , both GPe 4.3 and 4.3 with Sense
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Which ROM are you guys using with that ability?
I can only drag & drop using the very stock T-Mobile HTC RUU when I did not not root the phone.
Where do you go to adjust settings to enable it with ViperOne3.0?
I do not see the DEVELOPERS' OPTIONS under the Settings Menu. Maybe I could find a way to enable it so I can go into USB settings to tweak the sync?
Oh yeah,
I'm still using Windows XP (32-bit) with USB 2.0. Don't know if that matters.
I reinstalled HTC drivers too, and still could not drag files from laptop to phone.

Its hard to recommend to flash any roms when you can't even get the file onto your phone you know, if something goes wrong with the flash you'll be in a world of hurt trying to fix it.
But anyway did you install the usb drivers, is the laptop recognizing the phone, can you view the files on the phone?

Pull down the notification bar and you should see a usb connected notification, click on it and it should connect the two together.
I 've downloaded the LG thrill driver and everytime I connect the phone to my pc, drives E and F pop up but when I click on them it says please insert disk into drive. I've formatted the F drive and still the same thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you mount them on your phone? In your notification bar, there should be a notification that you connected a USB and if you click on it, it should give you the option to connect to the PC.
Yes. I clicked the option to enable usb on the phone.

When you installed the drivers, did it show that all of them were successfully installed? Maybe try re-installing them?
Did you go into sd and storage settings and uncheck mass storage mode only? Uncheck that to enable the other usb modes and devices.

windows 7 as well.
Which cable are you using? have you tried a different one?
when you put the drivers on did you manually install them or did you run through the process windows does after plugging in the phone
And are you positive you got the correct drivers? Remember...uninstall the old drivers before attempting new install

Well I fixed it! The solution was to simply re-boot my PC with the phone plugged in! Thank you all again for your suggestions!

After trying everything I could think off and suggestions to disable antivirus and USB debugging
Still didn't get USB access
Have uninstalled and gone to Android HD 35.1 which works great, no problems with USB usage
Shame as I really liked the newer features of Paranoid but need USB usage
Paranoid only worked using wifi file transfer app

I had this problem once too.
However, dis- and reconnecting the device did the trick.
Does really nothing happen when you connect your phone? No status bar icon appearing? I think first, I had to enable MTP mode, because no USB mode was activated at all...

You could try installing the drivers manually. Does a device show up in Windows' Device Manager when the phone is plugged in?

i installed drivers manually and i uploaded photo of Device manager
is the problem from my phone or from my PC ?
thanks for Help
sorry of the bad English not my first Lang.
Your device does show up in the device manager, so that's a good sign! Can you see what the exclamation mark means in the properties?
Same problem here...
Tried with another P880 on same computer and it was found.
ADB works, and access to SD-cards (internal/external) works just fine.
Only thing that doesn't work is PC Suite, it just doesn't find the rooted device.
Any ideas?
Which OS you are on? I am on windows 8.1 and i had to install Windows Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 8.1 to manage to access phones memory.

But I don't think that's the problem since there was no problems accessing or updating the phones before rooting.
I even tried one non-roted P880 (my gf's) on same computers without any problem.
