I've been running holics 1.3 as my dd for a long time but I'm looking for something new. I heard the Pac Rom is nice. Anyone recommend anything better then go holics?
Thanks!
P.s. does PlayStation certified mean I can play psp games?

i'm running holics as well on my vivid and was also looking for a new one. I think i am going with the touchwiz rom made by xXSHaDoWsomethingXx based off of Pacman, you might want to take a look at that.

PacMan is good & stable. The battery life is good as well. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a change.

Noob questions
Hi,
I'm new here and I need to ask a couple of things. I really want to root the phone and work with it because the battery is killing me with its phenomenally short live.
So, the 2 questions. What rom would you recommend as worth to try? For what I have been reading Paranoid or PAC appears to be the one with almost no problems related to phone operability.
And the second question is where I can find a proper guide on how to root this phone? I am not new to rooting a phone have done that before with an HTC desire and a Galaxy S2 but I am having a hard time finding a proper guide to root the HTC vivid.
Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my noob questions.
There is a super guide in development

Been using Borked, awesome rom.
Borked 2.5 beta is a good choice. For being a beta it doesn't have very many bugs from what i've seen.
PAC, Paranoid Android, and cyanogen mod are all good. I'll give a link to a ton of ROMs that you can try.

I've tried almost every ROM. JB ROMs isn't to att friendly as the in call volume is super low. first on ma list is virtouis inquisition on battery life an performance and sound quality second is darkraider has aroma installer and like 7 kernels to choose from an a whole bunch of install options and if u wanna change any of the kernels are settings offered to u in the install just reflash zip an gives u option to change setting super clean an super easy to use also very good on battery life performance and sound in audio and in call. jb ROMs I like cm10 with sultan kernel developed by a super smart 15 year old xda developer he's the only one working on the volume fix as we speak as and yes fixed a whole bunch of jelly bean ROM problems and the thing that flips my head the most is he don't even own or have a vivid
i'm also running cm10 with sultan kernal. runs great, no issues. if you use it you cant get the most up to date version of gapp's, there's a slightly older version that works with the vivid/cm10 much better
Seriously gotta try borked 3.2, its amazing.

I'm looking to see if anyone has extracted the Wi-Fi Calling APK from the T-Mobile version of the HTC One so I can test it on my 64gb Dev. HTC One. Or if anyone knows if another version works for it, please let me know. I have terrible reception in my office and rely on Wi-Fi for a good connection for calls.
Hopefully it works without too much tinkering :silly:
To my knowledge the wifi calling is built into the rom. It's not an app. It's a setting you toggle on. I had the tmobile stock rom and that's how it worked. Though someone in arhd had a test flash to add the setting.

Wi-Fi calling is more than just an app, and from what I've seen so far nobody has a stand-alone flashable zip. You just have to use a ROM that has it included. Insertcoin and a couple other 4.3 ROMs have it, and I'm hoping viper gets it soon.

No luck still, looks like no one has it as standalone so far and I would like to keep my stock Sense 5. Custom ROMs has its own issues when it comes to updates and camera etc...Let me know if you find a solution pls!

You could flash the T-Mobile stock Rom. I have the developer edition and I did that, until the developer s added it to their Roms. You'll still run into the update issue. Plus I flashed the T-Mobile radio and got way better signal.

No reason to regret it. If you don't like it, it's easy enough to go back to stock.
Every device in my signature (with one exception) has had a custom ROM on it. No regrets here.

If you're talking about the battery drain some users are experiencing on 4.4 Sense ROMs, it's still around. From what I've read, it's part of the HTC base that devs are using, so it won't be fixed until HTC releases a new WWE base, which should be soon.
...as for advantages of custom ROMs, check out ViperOne in the One Android Development forum if you haven't already.
so far battery on viper doing good....(elementalx kernel)
give it a go , worst case - go back to stock

I never regretted the new software! Even if I would, I still could get back to stock. So there is no problem. And until now I also had no warranty problems. They repaired it for free eventhough it was rooted. This would be the only thing I regretted... the big problems with repair centers.

If you updated to kitkat then downgraded to 4.2.2 knock on will be broken. You need to go into the hidden service menu 3845#*950# and go to hw device test , touch test, then update touch firmware.

I'm sorry for a noob question, but I just got my hands on one of these, how do you flash the ROM on this? I saw someone claiming there were no custom recoveries, is this true? Mine is rooted so far..thanks in advance!
I have installed custom roms but this kind is new to me, ummm how do I install it? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Good day. I flashed this rom on my Sprint LS995 and now unable to get gsm connection. In settings network is grayed out. Is there a step by step process to get this rom working. If anyone else has had success using this rom on their LS995, can you explain what procedure you followed. Thanks in advance.

Any progress on the T-mobile rom for the Sprint LS995?
Is it possible to get wifi calling working on a rooted non-stock ROM and Kernel?
Thanks,
I'm running Rapture ROM 2.1 (rooted) using UniBase kernel BOG8 and wifi calling works fine.
If you install this ROM, you need to make sure you install this kernel or you won't have any in-call audio.
Or were you meaning something like CyanogenMod? Because if that's what you mean, the answer is no.

No, I'm running XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition 2 with the same kernel you are. I made the CSC edits, and the setting now appears in my phone menu....but I don't know how to test to see if it's working?
Do you see it under Connections > More Connection Settings > WiFi Calling? You toggle it there.
Edit: Turn it in and set it to WiFi Preferred

Is the rom you're running T-Mobile firmware based or international? There should be an apk associated but it's deeper than that, I think it's a framework thing. International just won't work. People have been trying as long as I can remember

It's built into the framework from what I understand. There was at least one dev that was looking at trying to make wifi calling work outside of TW-based ROMs, but the thread was closed.
