ok I searched but couldn't find anything related to what I am having issues with. I have cyanogen 4.2.8.1 but the issue started when i switched to 4.2.x. I am getting SMS notifications and it has the text in the notification bar (the notification also reads "0 new text" but the contents are next to it like normal) but when I open it by clicking the notification or going to the messaging app manually it doesn't show the new sms. this happens randomly and is kind of annoying for me and the people I have to ask to resend their txt. any help would be appreciated thanks.
I will FREQUENTLY get a notification of a new text message, it will read the first few lines in the notification bar, and display in my text message widget, but when I go to my inbox there is no sign of that text message at all.

I've booted handcent
Used stock
Used Message Widget by Till esser
And all sorts of ****.
Wiped/factory data reset
Took apps off my sd/cleared the partition
It's been happening for about two weeks or more and it's bull****.
Any advice?
com.android.mms a large number of sms messages are being send. select "ok" to continue of "cancel" to stop sending
Is a new problem occurring when I send a text.
And considering I'm not sending a lot of texts, or theres much in my inbox. :|

I had the same problems, so I just switched back to stock sms.
this happened to me a while back, except mine would crash every time i open the messaging app. I simply did a factory reset, and it started working again.
This also happens to me now and then for no apparent reason, and then will stop and work correctly for a long period of time. I really have no ideas.
It happened to me when I was on JACxHeroSki v1.5 ROM and I also had an automatic task killer running in background. I uninstalled task killer and the problem went away.
As a complement, you could install Handcent and activate the "Auto retieve" and "Self check" options, that's how I'm working now and I haven't had any problems. Currently, I'm running the latest MghtyMax ROM and it completely solved that issue and other ones like the "3-ring" delay on incoming calls and the blinking LED.

EDIT: also (on Handcent) enable the "pop-up window" option when a text arrives. At least, it will give you the option to read and reply the message instantly if your texts are still getting lost. You could also install a "SMStoEmail" application, look for it on the Market.
I've been having issues with text message notifications. The notifications seem to only be working half the time. I've tried the standard messaging app, Handcent & am currently on Go SMS Pro. They all produce the same results. I have them all set to give a notification in the notification bar, blink led & vibrate. Sometimes, however, they don't produce these results. I'll have to actually open a messaging app to see that there is a new message. I also have the messaging apps locked into memory so they are not force closed. Just tonight there was about an hour period where I got no notifications for about 10 texts.
I am rooted and running Liquid Gingerbread 3.0. I would say it's just my phone & the rom, but my sister has a different phone and she says hers sometimes does the same thing. She's not rooted or anything. I've wiped data & cache several different times and still have the same results. Any idea what could be causing me to sometimes not get the notifications?

I am having an intermittent text message issue. I receive a new text message but am not notified. The message shows up in bold when i open the application but no notification in the lock screen, nor in the notification bar? I was using Google Hangouts and recently switched to Google Messenger and the issue continues. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know how to fix it?

This annoying piece of **** keeps popping up in my notification bar. I've updated to the most recent update, deleted all my SMS convos, restarted my phone, etc, and it STILL keeps popping up. When I click the "Touch to review message and try again." it just brings me to the SMS app. How do I deal with this?
So this same thing is happening to me. I have deleted all text messages, clearded cache from the messaging app, forced the messaging app to stop then cleared data and cache, tried to turn off VoLTE, tried with Wifi calling on and off. I have no idea what is going on here. Anyone have any ideas???
Same problem... It´s too anoying... SMS goes normal, it´s only anoying notification...
