I'm already s-off, unlocked and rooted. Can I flash the latest full firmware and remain s-off? Also could ibstripnthe recovery out of it so I can keep twrp. I mainly wanna update my hboot. Thanks

You can flash the latest firmware and remain S-OFF.
Flashing the firmware won't affect TWRP.
I personally never update my hboot
I thought the firmware included hboot and recovery? Wouldn't that overwrite twrp. I'm only doing it because I believe the newer hboot works with fastboot ans Windows 8.1

If you flash the one for S-OFF users that does not include(hboot, recovery, boot) you will be good that is the one I tested for OMJ just make sure you are on TWRP 2.6.3.0 or touch won't work in TWRP

S-On also allows this, however neither the radio nor kernel can be flashed in CWM, therefore usually the boot.img has to be flashed separately via fastboot after a ROM flash. Some roms manage to flash this automatically at first boot however. The HTC One is currently S-On only.
So if you're rooted it's scoff is that right

I don't think so. From how I understand it, you can be rooted and still be either s-on OR s-off. The difference is that s-off allows you to flash radios and kernels directly through recovery whereas if you're s-on, you have to flash them through fastboot, as the last guy to reply stated.

At the moment, the only form of root is unlocked s-on. So if you decide to go that route, you're gonna be flashing the boot.img after you flash a rom and no firmware updates (radio)
I believe the dev version has s-off

S-OFF allows you to flash unsigned firmware packages through the bootloader.

I don't think there is a ruu out for this.
I just can't seem to get why flashing a recovery doesn't work
Because that recovery which you are trying to flash, doesnt match with the rom version
---------- Post added at 05:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:09 PM ----------
Too bad, im unable to find any recovery for that version

Hello
i have htc one m7_u hboot 1.44 s-on rooted, and software version 3.62.401.1
I tried rumrunner but i gives me an error related to adb. Then tried revone, but in terminal it says revone failed error 1
Any ideas? i want to flash 4.4.2 roms
thanks
You need to go back to install older 4.1 rom that is compatible with 1.44. Right now you have a mismatch between HBOOT and ROM version.

Hi,
I need to S-off my htc one m7 in order to install ROM but unfortunately, I can't boot anymore to the OS.
I have S-on and access to TWRP recovery.
I there any way to S-OFF using only fastboot or any recovery mode?
and if there isn't how do I install stock OS back with S-on, so I can boot and do an ordinary s-off?
thanks!!

hi,
thanks for your response,
but in that case the guy had S-off, which I don't.
So even if I can push a rom into my device, how can I flash it?
maybe there is a rom which not requires s-off?

You don't need s-off to flash roms. You just need an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery. Do you not have a custom recovery
Recommend this. There are newer versions but this is still most stable in my opinion
TWRP 2.6.3.3 Custom recovery

Ok I just read back I see you have twrp. You can just push a Rom.zip using twrp and install it to get the phone booting. If you can post getvar I can find a stock Rom to suit your device.
To use a stock ruu you will probably need s-off. Unless your on an old firmware already. But if your on the latest software you can't downgrade with an ruu without s-off.
Best option is to push a custom or stock Rom zip to boot the phone then you can try to s-off.

Added note. When you do post getvar make sure to remove your imei and serial.
I have tried everything but I can't get s-off.Help me I want to put Viper .9 rom
as you tried to get s-off? hboot that you? show your bootloader?

Why do you need s-off to flash a rom? Unlock the bootloader, flash twrp and then flash the rom....unless its a verizon device

Or take a look at Sunshine...at http://the root.ninja
The latest rom off viper needs the latest filmware that's why.
5.0.2 I suggest.

unless you're on hboot 1.44 or 1.54, then sunshine is the only (not to mention safest and easiest way to go), but yes, it's a paid app $25
