share button greyed out on pictures - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hey guys, is there any way to share a picture that you have taken with the watch (or video) The share button is greyed out. Why would i take a pic if i have to open my phone to send it? I would just take the pic with my phone. It's strange..

Need help

Can anyone explain to me "what is geo-tagging and how to use it in our mini"...?
Sent from my GT-S5570 using XDA App
I've not really used it but I wondered myself when I first got this phone so I researched a little. It basically allows you to add and share the location of your photos (online). Try taking a photo and press the options button and there should be some options there. As far as I know anyway. Hope I helped a little!

Geo-tagging is a feature that lets you tag your images for SEO. IT is like adding meta data and descriptions to your images. You might need a specific app for using this feature.. search on market --maybe you will find one.
Ok...

geo tagging pics
u can geo-tag ur photographs by going to settings of the default camera app(if on samsung firmware) & checking the GPS option in it. then onward ur latitude and longitude details would also be stored in the EXIF detail of the pic..
even I had always wondered how it worked

Scrapbook

Maybe I'm missing something, but Scrapbook doesn't seem to be working correctly for me. I searched, but could only find info about YouTube not working right, which I already knew how to fix.
I remember, at least I think I remember, a demo of Scrapbook where they would be on a webpage and the would use the S-Pen and circle a portion of the page and it would save it, basically for later reading. When I use it, it basically takes a screenshot inside the circle I draw and only shows that.
Was I wrong in my thoughts about Scrapbook, or am I doing something wrong?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
yes whatever you circle on the webpage is shown in the scrapbook, but the web address is listed right above that and you can click it to go back to that webpage...
also how did you get the youtube videos to work???
I believe you can click share on the YouTube video.
Edit: just tried that and it didn't work. Forget I posted lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk 5
You have to remove updates to get YouTube to work like it does in the demonstration. Guess Scrapbook doesn't work with updated YouTube. Hopefully Samsung releases an update that allows it to work properly.

Thanks all I got it to work I just had to uncheck auto updates in the play store.

When I share it from the updated Youtube app it dumps it into scrapbook, and is playable from there. I don't know what it looks like in the video yall talk about, but a screen shot of how mine works is attached.

[Q] Silence camera shutter sound on Galaxy Gear

Hey guys is there any way to silence the camera shutter sound on the Galaxy Gear? With that thing making noise everyone pretty much knows you're taking a picture.

That's the idea. Samsung did it intentionally for privacy reasons. A dev will probably do a work-around at some point, but I doubt Samsung ever will give us an option.
Aww yiss, creeper pics. I'd like to know too.
Ahhh I see. Thought I could go all secret agent on people and take their photo. I guess we just have to wait for a root and see if that helps.
Here is a simple temporary solution for you- Cover the speaker holes with your finger while taking a shot.
It mutes most of the sound, then.
wow you're right that does work. thanks a bunch. :good:

Most of the population understand a mobile phone can have a camera and when its been used. A watch, I think not. I fear we shall all start to pay for deviant-illegal-inappropriate-criminal behaviour by a few irresponsible owners. I can see the day looming when the crap will hit the fan regarding this device and its camera? Remember all things good have the balance of being abused for bad.
honestly, isnt it obvious looking, the way youd have to hold your arm and hand, etc. There are much cheaper, easier ways to achieve creeper status without an expensive nerdwatch

Found a solution. Use snapchat and save the photos.
I notice a slightly bigger quality change though.

If youre rooted. Push over a root explorer via ADB. Then navigate to /system/media/audio/ui and delete all the camera_*.ogg's.

Install Wonder share mobilego for Android on desktop and download silent camera app.
No Root required!!! Only problem is that all photos are rotated 90 degrees. They transfer over to the phone fine.

Exactly. 1. Root, 2a. install Null_ROM so you can 3. BT tether and 4. use Play Store (or 2b. ADB) to install a root browser.... then find\delete cam oggs.

Is there a way to share the pictures from the gear? I've noticed that there is a grayed out area (share half triangle) on the picture.

You can root and install Bluetooth File Transfer and send to other bluetooth devices, install Evernote, send it that way, or sync the pic with your phone and share from your phone.
No rooting necessary. Side load Tablet Talk with wondershare and you can share straight from the watch to anyone...just make sure you know the number. It doesn't sync contacts.

I am newbie, don't even know what side-load means. I tried Bluetooth Transfer, but I am not rooted, whatever that is.. So, it doesn't work..
I am going to keep reading and most likely I will find out how to side load.. The Samsung rep loaded a couple pics off my Note 3 to the Gear, but he didn't know how he did it...
It seems the mini-gallery is working. I loaded a lot of my pics and vids on my Note 3. I have a 64gb sd card, so I was real liberal with the amount of pictures. Today, I hit the mini-gallery app on my GG and sure enough, I could browse all my pics..haven't tried the vids..

Well mine is working like a charm. Not rooted. App is "mini gallery"... I have it on the face of my GG. I tap it, it shows me the pics on the camera, and what I have stored on the Note 3.. Shows them all.
It works for me now, i just uninstalled the 1.5 tablet in gear and installed 1.7 and with that version the share worked
Still cant find the .apk file in my note3 for my tablet talk i bought would be great to use that instead in my gear.

Any root camera mods?

I've been meaning to root my gs5 but I'm wondering if there's any camera mods. Aside from debloating, increased camera performance is really all I need (it usually takes me about 3-5 tries to get a non blurry picture) but I'm worried that once I'm rooted, I can't complain to att and get a new s5 since it might be a hardware problem
Tl;dr anyone found a good camera mod or know someone who is working on one?

i opened a thread about this and have still yet to find a solution... i might have to go back to using a 3rd party app.. CameraZoom+ worked pretty decent for me on my previous s4 and note3.
i have noticed that turning on "Tap to take pic." and tapping the screen to capture the photo has been working decent.

possibly.. i noticed that when the camera snaps the pic and it flashes the white boarders.. that particular moment doesnt seem to be the actual moment that the photo is taken.. so maybe when the screen flashes, we think the photo is taken and move our hands out of instinct ?

Though the nexus camera works great on the nexus line I've noticed on my so when I use it to capture something that is moving like my child there is a delay in capture...the screen will flash with what I thought I got but when I look at the picture it will be a delayed shot often missing what I wanted. The Samsung camera is not alol that bad.

Yeh I don't get it either, I never take blurry photos. See so many complaints on here and other forums and no clue why, my friends S5 doesn't take blurry pics either. I only turned off pic stabilization. I just make sure the the image is in focus before shooting.
Has everyone removed the factory plastic off the lens?

I have 405 pictures on my external SD card, plus probably around 100 or so on the internal.
Took me about 5 Seconds.
