Hi Guys,
A newbie here and of course I'm in trouble. HTC One International version.
Few weeks ago I unlocked the bootloader by HTC One Toolkit 1.9.3 and HTCDEV unlock token.
Installed CWM Mod Tuuch recovery.
Now I receive the E: Can't mount error with CWM...hence CWM won't also root the phone so it's Unlocked but unrooted.
Anyway, yesterday came the 4.3 OTA update...I downloaded and automatically tried to install it. It reboots to CWM and then of course get's stuck into CWM as it can't mount SD or anything...
Also for a strange reason whenever I go to Fastboot Windows 8 won't recognize the USB device...tried installin the HTC drivers, installed and uninstalled and installed again HTC Sync manager but still nothing...tried different USB cables, different USB ports..still nothing
What should I do to get CWM working and install the OTA?
The phone does boot to 4.2.2. ROM and works fine but as the OTA is downloaded is whines every now and then that I should install the update which I can't do..
Download an up-to-date recovery.img from the cwm thread and flash it via fastboot. There are several tutorials out there how to do that. Hope it will help

HI...thanks...tried that alreayd...CWM and TWRP both but fastboot isn't working. I guess it's due to win 8.1 I'm using. I've tried all the latest HTC drivers I've found here but still fastboot isn't recognizing the USB device...

Yes. Anyway...I managed to install TWRP recovery on another computer with win7 so definitely win 8.1 problem on my computer..
However...can you tell me how to flash the OTA update? TWRP fails to do so as I was afraid...I understand I need to have stock recovery to flash OTA:..where can I get this? and I hope I can flash the stock recovery by HTC toolkit?

Oh man... that's too bad..
The question, I ask myself, is: Why do you tried to played with bootloader and recoveries when you want to install OTA updates??
Press Power+VolumeLower at the same time till you get into bootloader. Does that work?

That's the question I keep asking myself....
Actually I thought of trying custom ROM. But then as the CWM had errord I had not the time to fiddle with that. So I thought that when I have time I'll deal with that.. Then came the update and surely I wanted to try the new 4.3 and Sense....
I guess now I need to have the time to deal with this..

Select 'Recovery' to boot into it.
Choose 'Mount' and check 'System'
Now try adb shell to check, if you have access to your Phone. If you have so, download a ROM, for example AICP, which I prefer, and copy it to your sd with this commad:
Code:
adb push C:\Path\to\you\rom.zip /sdcard/rom.zip
If this completes successfull go to the homescreen of twrp -> Install and choose this zip file.
For AICP you have to flash GApps after you flashed the ROM. I'll provide you the links:
AICP: http://tunsd.de/downloads/ICJ/AICP/m7ul/aicp_m7ul_jb-mr2_unofficial_2013-10-19.zip
GAPPS: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip
Push both zips to your sdcard as I described above and flash them in the priority I put the links..
Sorry for my bad english, Im at work.. -.-"

I am new to rooting and unlocking my new HTC One. I have had great pleasure in doing the same to my galaxy nexus in the past but this one has got me beat.
I have unlocked the bootloader via the HTC site. I have the latest drivers installed and showing OK in the device manager.
I am trying to load a TWRP on my phone without any succes. I can see it listed in the HTC tool kit I have. Its listed as 'SH****** fastboot device. I click install recovery but nothing happens.
I have tried it through the CMD prompt also but get the error 'cannot load'
Can someone please help as I'm desperate to root and install a custom Rom on my phone.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have the right recovery .img file? What's the file size of the recovery? Should be around 8MB.
It should be its 8.43MB in size.

you're forgetting ".img" in the file name, "DIR" on your computer and then use the full file name of the recovery, that's all
EDIT: I think it's called "openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7.img" (unless you saved it under a different name)
so fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7.img
EDIT 2: just saw you folder
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.6.3.0.img

Hello folks!
I was running a "google play edition" rom on my phone (rooted/ superuser). Today it said there was an ota update for kit-kat available. I let it go through with the install. For some reason the install failed (I think it was a 'status 7').The phone wouldn't boot (instead of a loading boot animation just blue screen) Then when I went to try to reflash my old rom (I was stupid and didn't have a backup), I got a status 7 error again, and I've gotten one for every rom I've tried to flash (HTC One nexus edition and another one, can't remember the name).
Anyway, I can push and pull files via adb but nothing will install. I've tried sideloading too but that failed also.
I have CWM 6.0.2.8.
Any help would be lovely.

Do you have the recovery in the same folder that fastboot is in?
Is the phone in fastboot USB mode while connected to the computer?
Try renaming it to "recovery" without the quotation marks. Then just use "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" without the quotations.

I originally had CWM recovery on there and wanted to use the TWRP recovery instead since it had the HTC dumblock on there, which helped out before. While my phone was in it current condition, I downloaded TWRP and flashed it into my HTC ONE. I know I must have done so wrongfully because now when I try to go into recovery... it freezes during "entering recovery" and reboots into boot loop.
from bootloader open a cmd window and type
fastboot erase cache

I've made that attempt already. But the strange thing is that it executes the command, but if used again it will give me a list of blocks and inods or something like that. But I will try the command and reboot the system. Ill update with the outcome.

Okay I erased the cache, it confirmed the command. I rebooted and of course it was in boot loop. I entered bootloader, then to recovery... and the same problem persisted.

Try this to get the drivers installed properly
(If you are using Windows 8.1 this will most likely not work)
On your PC go to device manager and find your phone(usually M7WLS), right click and select properties
Select the driver tab
Select update driver
Select browse my comp
Let me pick
Look for ADB USB device or similar should be one of the first couple choices
Select MyHTC install and you should be good

Paying $50 to whoever can help me fix my phone! my dad managed to soft brick his htc one, all i can do it on now is boot to the recover menu. im not very savvy in modding phones so i need someone to guide me step by step in fixing it! we can talk on skype and i can use my webcam to show you exactly what is happening with the phone. will pay $50 via paypal! add me on skype: Metricgear

So I'm guessing your stuck in the bootloader. This should be a fairly easy fix. I'm not available for Skype at the moment but as I say should be an easy fix.So lets get some prerequisite's out of the way first.
Do you have access to a pc with working adb/fastboot?
I see the bootloader is unlocked, is it running a custom recovery and if so which one (name and version please)

Once your up and running if you want to go back to stock you can use this Nandroid Backup http://www.htc1guru.com/2013/11/stock-backup-3-23-666-1/
Alternatively you could use it instead of the Rom in my other post but the push is a little more complicated. Where as once the device e is booting you can just drop the nandroid in the correct folder using MTP on your pc.
hmmm

Your device has an Internal Sd card. But that stock zip I'd not a Rom, you can't flash it like a Rom. It a Nandroid Backup so it needs to be restored using TWRP.
You need to get TWRP to flash, try updating your your adb/fastboot. You can check your current version by typing
Code:
adb version
In the command window. Latest is 1.0.31 :good:

to flash twrp boot in bootloader/fastboot usb mode and flash trwp recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_file.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then boot in recovery and use adb push like the others suggested before:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard
and then install the rom, reboot and youre done.
