I'm suffering from WiFi disconnects
The ZR disconnects and reconnects every few minutes
The vendor stated that if the router (AP) does not support the 802.11n standard, the WiFi will disconnect
But, SHOULD it disconnect?
I have tested on several APs, if I use these devices as a WiFi host, the WiFi disconnects:
- Dlink DI-624S
- RUCKUS WIRELESS ( unknown model )
And these APs work with ZR smoothly without disconnects:
- HTC Incredible S
- Buffalo WHR-HP-G450
- Dlink DIR-632
Does anyone has the same problem?
Any information will be helpful
P.S. I'm running stock 4.2.2 on stock kernel

Similar
got the same problem as yours, but mine's only disconnecting when I'm using AirDroid and sending large files to my phone which do not happen when I'm just browsing the web. no Idea about it though

I am using many wifi connections, in my house which does not support 802.11n, in my work which we have several ap, in university, friends houses, I have used it twice in train stations and public places!
And no disconnections! and by that I mean absolutely no problem like yours! and I have C5502 like you (the non-LTE one!) so I'm not sure about that, but you might want to try define your router manually!
Same as the other guy, wifi works flawleslly on my c5502

Then maybe I should ask for another c5502 from the vendor for testing...

Yep, search and read the forums before posting a question that has been answered hundreds of times.
No man... I've searched for the whole day... They have a problem with the signal... not like mine... Don't reply if u don't know what I'm talking about

FIrstly I do know what you are talking about, and I suggest if you want help then don't be a smart ass.
This seems to be a problem until you sucessfully connect to any network, I had to fresh reboot my router before I could connect to it, did exactly as you explain, and exactly what others talk about in the threads. For me however, once I was able to finally establish a clean connection to any WIFI network from that point on it was fine, bad signal strength but didn't constantly switch, and then finally give you a message saying authenication required.
In addition to this, I followed the following guides/fixes and either of these two work. You need to ROOT your phone though.

I did that already o_o

When I've seen this occur, it is generally as the wifi isn't in range or barely in range, or I'm having an issue on my router. The wifi strength on an Xperia Z is pretty weak. I ended up buying a new wifi router for home it was so bad, and has been a lot better. But I did have this same behaviour when it was having trouble connecting.
When you are trying to connect, is the signal strength it is showing 4 bars, or is it low? Or varying a lot?
I'm next to the router and the signal is almost full !!
But it keep on saying obtaining IP address then it disappear
Although another devices are connected to the same router without any problems

Does Xperia SP really have terrible WIFI strength?
If it does I am not sure I wanna buy it.
I don't have any probs with WiFi connection or connection being dropped...... think it was sorted when they updated from .211

No problem after updating to .284
No problem for me too.....
From Xperia SP C5302 XPERIALISED
My signal is pretty shocking, I've had to move my router so I can get a signal through the whole house. No other devices had any such issue.
xperia sp certainly has some problem with wifi.
you can check at sony forum also
Mine is in .211 firmware.
It has WiFi issues. It automatically disconnects even if we are in range of WiFi, & does not connect again so I have to go to the WiFi settings again to connect it

My wifi range is about 3 meters less than my nexus 7, but it never disconnects
Awful Wifi. Even though I liked the phone, I returned it because of the horrible WiFi.
Mine is fine, just as good as my s and tablet z
Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk 4
Both sony phones i have owned had poor wi fi range, xperia sp is the same compared to my old one s and my nexus 7 but its not terrible i never get drop outs in my house, just signal strength is usually a bar less than my other devices.
Mine's fine, better than the Xperia U!
Is anyone else finding that when using location based wifi, when re entering a saved location it doesn't turn wifi back on I have to turn wifi back on manually, then sometimes I have to select the wifi network and select connect. It's starting to become a bit of a pain.

Hmm maybe I've got a glitch, I'll see how it goes, it does switch on sometimes but most of the time I have to re enable the wifi.

If it's your home network, have you tried to reboot the router? Or to assign a static IP-address to it - one of the earlier Xperias had the same problem until a later update.

I haven't tried that yet, will reboot the router first and go from there. When I had the XZ it used to do it then, but not as much as this does.

Well I used to use WiFi - Matic on my HTC One which worked perfectly, so will go back to that if the inbuilt one still plays up.

Interesting that you seem to think that it is the phone straight away, probably not, very likely to be other wifi networks in your area affecting your signal on the router. I no that the signal is not the greatest but these sort of things are likely to affect it more.

When i use my Wi-Fi regulary, 5 minute once it disconnects from my own internet.
Is this problem of Sony firmware, or should i check up my device?
How far are you from your router? How about other devices at the same range?

I am far about 4 meters my router. And this problem still happens even I next to router.
And there is no one in my house having this problem.
Have a check up for the device. Though i have read in the forums of other members with the z1 also having wifi troubles
