[Q] Custom Roms will not boot 1.44 unlocked with S-off - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok I got a replacement HTC ONE today. Unlocked the bootloader, used revone for s-off. All good.
TWRP recovery opens and runs fine.
Backed Up stock rom.
Wiped and Flashed both ViperRom and Android Revolution HD 30.0. Neither boot.
tried flashing the corresponding boot.img files for both, CMD says pushed OK. But still neither will boot.
I am stumped. Restore from recovery to stock rom backup works fine.
Any ideas? Needs some advice

OK i tried restoring from twrp back up and now when it boots its goes to a black screen with a status bar at the top. Shows the little android symbol for debugging. then on the other side battery, clock, signal bars that have a X for no signal. Cant do anything. Sits there for a few minutes then reboots.
Please help. lol

Note 3 Battery died, now wont boot.

So I was at work and my phone had 5% battery left approximately so i shut it down to be able to use it right after my shift ends. So when my shift ended, i tried to boot my phone back up and it makes it to the ATT splash screen but will not go any farther. I rebooted into recovery mode and my phone showed battery at 1%. I placed my phone on the stock usb 3.0 charger and it showed that it was charging. i tried booting again after a while but it wont get past that splash screen. During the time that its stuck on the splash screen, the blue LED pulses.
Its been charging for an hour and the battery logo is showing at least 50% now but it still wont boot past that screen
Im on 4.4.2 and its rooted (i have the safestrap recovery). this has happened before but i didnt have the patience and reflashed the stock kitkat firmware through odin and re-rooted. I lost all my data and would like to avoid doing that again. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried everything with no luck. Ended up just reflashing my firmware again. I'd like to know what that issue was however, in case it happens again.
Alright, did you install any xposed modules or anything of that sort?

i did not, it was 100% stock 4.4.2 firmware, rooted with towel root and safestrap 3.75
System tuner is an app i use, and i changed some build.prop info such as dalvik vm heap growth limit, start size, and wifi scan interval. but thats about it
Sorry for the late reply but these changes could simply be your problem. Though I am unsure of this it's really the only thing that would make sense besides a hardware issue

[Q] Stuck on White HTC Screen, Can't Boot Into Recovery

Hey guys, got a problem with my M7.
My phone was working fine. Was getting ready to flash a new rom. I moved the .zip into my root folder.
Went to reboot my phone into recovery to flash it, but it gets stuck on the white HTC screen. Powered off, booted into bootloader. Tried to enter recovery through bootloader, but I still get stuck on the white HTC screen.
Any ideas?
edit: and now, the phone won't boot at all ...

Well I'm pretty sure just copying a rom to the phone didn't do anything to it. what else happened between then and now
Nothing at all. Here's basically what I did.
1. Backed up phone in recovery.
2. Reboot.
3. Loaded rom to /root using computer.
4. Attempt to boot in recovery ..
And that's it.

is the battery dead ?
does the pc load any drivers when you plug it in ?
does the charging lights work ?
Nope, charging lights do not work ... It wasn't a full battery, but was around 70% last I remember.
Ok, was able to boot using the bright light method.
Still no dice on booting past the white HTC screen. When I try to boot to TWRP through the bootloader, it'll show the TWRP splash screen, then automatically go back to the white HTC screen.

Reflash recovery and erase cache
you may have to format data in TWRP and totally wipe the phone.
also flashing stock recovery and doing a factory reset from stock will rebuild the partitions and sometimes make the phone stable again

Can't install/wipe anything (rom, recovery, ecc).

Hi everyone.
I've android 6 stock (xt1068), and today i woke up and it doesn't work
I try to install the twrp and then to flash rom, ecc, but after that i install the twrp succesfully, when i go in the recovery i see that there is no twrp but the main stock recovery. This thing basically appens with everything that i install/wipe, infact the bootloader tells me that my action worked, but it didn't.
Another thing is that if i let my phone boot up, after the boot animation it tells me 'Starting Android', then this text go out, and for a second the boot animation appears again, after that all the screen goes black. (The phone is not closed, but it is showing black in the screen, i think you got it)
Thank you

I've hit rock bottom.

I did everything I could think of to fix my Z4u, with no luck
It has no working OS atm and also no recovery
Tried flashing Philz recovery with no luck
After flashing and rebooting and showing entering recovery it goes into a bootloop
Tried an RUU the green progress bar shown on phone gets stuck at about 90% for hours and nothing happens.
If I fastboot reboot, it reboots and goes into a bootloop
Desire 500 single sim
Hboot 1.03
Unlocked bootloader, but I relocked for RUU
S-on
I am at a dead end right now and I could really use your help guys
Any suggestions? Maybe I'm missing something? :crying::crying:
Also if anyone has the stock recovery plz upload, it might be the issue

[Q] Reencryption of a rooted, unlocked 3T with TWRP fails

Hi!
After receiving my OP 3T, I unlocked it and went to a Nougat firmware and rom. Failing to get VoLTE, VoWifi and SMSC settings on that rom, I tried further roms, one with the recommendation to do a full wipe. At the very end, I downgraded to OOS 3.5.4, but forgot to deactivate the password before starting the OS. That forced me to format userdata via TWRP and that way decrypt the phone the hard way.
With OOS 3.5.4, VoLTE, VoWifi and SMSC settings did work again fine and I would stay with that OS.
So I tried to reencrypt the rooted phone.
Starting that process from settings, the 3T bootet and stucked in the OS splash animation screen (the two white bubbles circling around the red bubble). After 1+ hour I bootet the phone which suceeded. Obviously nothing was happened, the phone remained unencrypted.
Does anyone has a hint how I can get the phone reencrypted?

I recently did this with the most recent version of twrp, the official one from the twrp website, however a quick fix i believe is to flash stock recovery, reboot, encrypt and then flash twrp. Both methods worked for me

Hi!
Thanks for your reply.
With both latest TWRP 3.1.0-1 and the official recovery, I see the green android robot and then the phone shows the screen with the two white rotating bubbles around the red bubble... but no progress indicator or anything else.
Booting the phone out of that screen shows that nothing happened....

Hmm I'm not sure then. I'm using the latest FreedomOS so it could have something go do with that. Also rooted with magisk but no other system mods
I think I found the reason...
After I unrooted the phone, it did not stuck in the boot animation (or for whatever that animation was used, it is the same as when booting but the phone did not boot) but continued into the encrytpion progress screen.
I remember having had such an effect with a Samsung some time ago where encryption also failed as long as a process was running related to a rooted phone.
