Home made camera protector - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Used an extra screen protector (the film kind) that I had lying around. Nice pair of scissors to make a nice circle and a piece of tape to help apply it.
Sweet.
If it scratches just rinse and repeat.

Have you noticed any issues with the pictures taken with the screen protector on it?

Nope pictures are perfect.

You can also use a hole puncher...

Tried a 1/4 inch hole punch.. It was a little small.

I just got the Skinomi protector and I highly recommend it. It covers every surface on the device. Plus it protects the speaker on the wristband. They thought of everything. It's a little frustrating since the pieces are soo small but once your done is great.

Is the corner of my phone cracked?! (or is it a join line?)

Does anyone else have this line on the corner of the phone?
Can hardly see it (easier to see on the photos than in real life) but its right the way through the plastic part, not on he glass or chrome though.
Pretty sure it would have been there since i got it, only noticed it when checking around it after reading threads on here about scratches etc!
No impact marks etc anywhere

It looks like part of the manufacturing process. I'd check my n4 but it isn't here till Tuesday :/
That looks like a seam from the plastic molding process to me.
I don't see anything like that on my nexus 4.
Looks cracked to me.... I don't have that
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
No I havent got that either.
Got the same thing on the top right of my s3. Its just from the manufacturing process.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
The rubberized plastic also has some glitter effect? Didn't know that!
This is just caused by the manufacturing process. My Nexus 7 has a similar mark on the corner.
Got the exact same mark. Looks bigger in the picture though its tiny in real life.

Yup, I have the same mark. Just noticed it yesterday, but doesn't bother me.

The main reason for posting was that i didn't want it to get worse over time if it was a crack, then they'd blame me if i reported it in a couple of weeks/months

my nexus 4 doesnt have it , i would take it back to get fixed or maybe not the replacement will take forever with it being such high in demand
Looks too straight to be a crack to me. Probably a join line or a mold mark. If it is a mold mark then some phones may not have it.
I don't have it.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
It is almost a perfect straight line. So I want to say it ain't a crack. But; I don't have that on mine. Anywhere. All the way around...

Problem with display

My friend dropped it and it does this now. The glass looks fine and I pulled it all apart but nothing looked to be disconnected.

Have you tried rebooting? And if you have have you gotten anything else like the splash screen?
Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2
I rebooted and nothing not even splash screen.
It boots and every time I press the power button the buttons light up and so does backlight but nothing else.
Update: I found out I had the wrong revision for the LCD. I needed rev.5 not rev.4.....so I got the wrong part exchanged it and now waiting for it to come. Will report back.

Galaxy Gear Protection..

For Gear owners. I had already purchased some screen protectors for my Galaxy Gear, but to tell the truth I haven't bothered to put them on. They are just plain screen protectors.. But, this really caught my eye, and I order it right away. Comes in different colors too..

How was the application process of this particular protector? It looks awesome. I'm thinking about getting one as well.

Just leave the back portion of the skin off... cut it off if need be... I'm ordering one and I'm not really that worried about something scratching the back of my Gear... where my wrist is going to be nearly all the time.
No need to cut anything of you get it from stickerboy.net. Mine fits in the cradle perfectly.

I bought the clear ones. Easy to apply. Just make sure you follow the instructions. You can move the skin around while it's still wet so you can line it up better. I like this better then the dry method. I've had mine since Dec and still going strong. One side has some adhesive that's helping stay in place.

I'm not sure about the material that screen is made out of. However, plastic is breakable like you're saying.

i slammed the door on it hard enough to crease the side plastic.
Stop flexing when you shut your door. hehe
Flex your muscles not your phone.
I belive the plastic part is the actual oled panel, the front is just thin flexible glass
Nice. Look for an LCD on ebay or amazon, replace it and continue

Camera question

If you use the camera in almost complete darkness, do you have pink and blue around the edges of the screen?
I noticed this the other day and it concerned me. I had huge issues(as did lots of people) with my HTC One with pink in the camera, and don't want to end up with similar issues.
Might contact support for a replacement.

The pink in the middle issue is different.
I don't understand why these companies have such bad quality control when it comes to the camera. It seems to be a major issue with every manufacturer at some point.
