Hi,
Can anyone PLEASE tell me where I can find the cell broadcast settings on an HTC one dual sim? I keep getting about 20 messages per hour from number 50 that contain only my network name! I called the network and they couldn't help me!
I already looked through all the settings I could think of and didn't find anything!
In the Settings>Call I have the following listed:
-Slot 1 call settings
-Slot 2 call settings
-Phone settings
In the slot settings:
-FDN
-Call forwarding
-Call barring settings
-Additional settings
Any input will be much appreciated!! :good:

same problem,
my solution
I jaut solved this problem, i used following steps
1. Put sim card in other phone that has cell broadcast setting
I user desire hd
2. Disable cell broadcast and disable message from channel 50 if available else
Disabling cell broadcast should do the job
3. Restart to check if cell bbroadcast is still disabled
4. Remove sim and put in ur htc dual sim
5. There should be no more messages from 50
Enjoy...
This thread is very old and am afraid I come too late.
With my X9, All messages > three dots at the upper right corner > Settings > Slot 1/2 Cell Broadcast, uncheck those boxes, voila~!

I have tried to google and searched this site but can't find anything useful.
I need to know if it's possible to Show / Hide the phonenumber on outgoing calls? I have my ISP to remove my number from phonenumbersearching and this makes my phonenumber hidden as default on outoing calls. Now I need to change the setting on the phone to Show the number... This is very easy on Nokia, SonyEricsson etc but how do I do this on a HTC Touch Diamond?
Thanks in advance.
Edit:
I found it! Couldn't even find this in the manual... Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Services -> Get config from Numberpresentation, and there it is!
Like the thread title says, I'm in London at the moment. I unlocked my Captivate before leaving and bought a SIM card from 3. Unlimited data, 3000 SMS, and 300 minutes for 15 quid ... not bad.
Trouble is that I can't get any sort of data access. Voice and SMS work, but no data is coming through. I have full bars, but normally there is an E or H to the left of them with up and down arrows and that is gone. Google logins aren't working and no internet for any applications.
I've been reading a little bit and something about APN numbers perhaps?
Thanks
Make sure that the data radio frequencies are compatible and if so make sur they are enabled, can't remember what exactly to do but searching should find results easily
See if data roaming is disabled because the radio frequencies are probably not the same as the normally accepted ones

Aye, it's the APNs.
You have to get the settings from 3. As far as i know, the cappy does support the 3G bands there.
a quick google search gave me this
Name - 3
Apn - three.co.uk
proxy - not set
port - not set
Username - not set
Password - not set
Server - not set
MMSC - http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
MMS proxy - mms.three.co.uk
MMS port - 8799
MCC - 234
MNC - 20
APN type - not set

Give that a shot. In case you dont know how to get to the settings, it is. Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > (then hit the bottom leftmost capacitive button) and press new apn.
Good Luck i hope it all works out
So it's a combination of the below answers. For anyone looking to do this you want get to the APN settings page then and make a new profile but only set the apn to be "3services" no quotes. I tried three.co.uk, but that doesn't work. 3services works just fine though and speeds are pretty reasonable. Also, you must enable data roaming as the above poster mentioned as well.
Thanks for the help guys much appreciated.
Hello All,
I'm trying to get a stock Verizon OG Droid to work on Pageplus.
I activated it recently and the 3G data and text messaging seems to work just fine but picture messages/mms aren't received nor sent ...
I assume this has something to do with a apn settings or some options, any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Pete
You have to create a second APN for MMS in addition to the mobile data APN.
You should be able to find the necessary information in the help pages of your provider - or use google.
Interesting thing is i have tried sending that phone smaller pictures and it seems to receive them, can this be a MMS size limit issue ?
How does one resolve this ?
I am not sure if the APN would cure this problem anymore or has anything to do with it...

I'm pretty sure there's a size limit on MMS too.
Usually the picture is resized when attaching it.
Perhaps i should check the APN settings because it seems very flaky still...
I could not find out where the settings are on this phone, can someone point them out to me ?
Thanks,
Pete
Settings > Wireless > Mobile network > APNs > press menu key > select "Add APN"
Something like this - I don't have any stock 2.x devices to check...
Using the hidden menu app and selecting testing then phone information or by dialing *#*#4636#*#* I came across these settings. I did browse XDA forums and other ones but info was vague.
Can anyone explain these 3 settings.
Turn on / off IMS registration required
Turn on / off SMS over IMS
cellinfolistrate
Then can anyone tell me your default setting for those. I been playing around with them, but haven't noticed any problems.
Dear all
Does someone know how I disable "channel 50 broadcasts"?
Within "Settings > Messaging > Community BroadCast" i clicked in the upper right on the "..." to enter "Cell Broadcast settings". I was able to disable all sorts of settings like "Turn on notifications". Unfortunately when I disable the "Show channel 50 broadcast" and I re-enter the setting window this entry is enable again.
I get all day a few annoying cell broadcast messages showing on which cell I'm not logged in.
I also issued the below adb command which opened the same broadcast setting window:
adb shell am start -n com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver/com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver.CellBroadcastSettings
I'm on newest ZUI Stock Rom 2.5.355 ST.
I do have two SIM cards from same Operator (one private & one business number). I'm not sure if there should be separate broadcast message settings per SIM card. Unfortunately I do not see an option to select the SIM card...
Thank you for any hints.

Hi, mixmaniax.
For my Zuk I've faced the same issue when tried to disable the cell broadcasts.
Have not found the way to disable it, or delete without having root on board, though you can disable the notifications that are harrassing and messing the notification bar:
1. Slide up from the middle of the screen to open the hidden search menu
2. Type Apps and click on Apps menu
3. Press three dots in the right top corner, choose show system
4. Click Cell Broadcasts - Permissions - Disable SMS
Hope it helps.
Dear kadabusha,
I've done what you suggested and for the time being it seems to have resolved my problem with these annoying messages
Thank you very much for your valuable and appreciated help. :good:
