I hope I got you right...
If I do then, all what you have to do is go to gear manager on your mobile and there go to my apps... From there you can set the apps that you want to see on the watch touchwiz launcher by swiping left and right...
This works only for apps that are installed through your phone (I.e. visible to the gear manager). Side-loaded apps unfortunatelly are only accessible through the app drawer in the touchwiz launcher interface.

That is the biggest drawback to this, if you side-load an app it cannot be moved around in the favorites menu.

My gear manager bugged out and I had root explorer as one of my installed apps.. Im sure there's a way to get them listed.. I think they may have to be system apps tho..

Anyone know how to remove the "recent apps" section in the notification menu?
I dont use/want it and its just a big waste of space.
Running GingerX gingerbread sense rom =D.
Thanks ~MM20
Go into /system/customize (using root explorer or something similar) and scroll down untill you find notification_config.txt,
tap it, then menu then open it in a text editor and just delete where it says recent apps, then hit menu - save and close. Then reboot the phone and you're sorted.

you cant remove them. unless you install an external task killer.. which is not recommended.
Let me assure you that its not a waste of space, the apps are dormant after a while anyway...
Re-boot will get rid of all of them.
You can get rid of them if you're rooted.
You have to find the notification.config, txt of whatever rom you're using, and edit it. It's normally in the /data folder. Try searching for it.
That will sort it out

1. Why uninstall? Never uninstall system apps if not sure it will work. There are apps that can freeze apps, then simply unfreeze if needed. Titanium backup can do this and much more like backup.
2. Don't know, never used launcher pro, xperia launcher are the best Imo
3. Choose yes to use wifi, and use an app to set it to use in eg Europe, Japan or wherever....search in xda for like gps faster fix.
As for 1 there's also a list on the web stating which system apps can be deleted or not. You risk fc and apps mot working properly as they depend on another, easy freezy are also an app to use for freezing apps
Easiest for you would be to install a custom rom, you need clockwork mod recovery and root then. Pm me if you need a guide
Thanks for the sugestion now i have reinstalled messaging app and disable it using root app delete
Now want one more thing to ask
Can i freeze the system app like
Lg home(i am using launcher pro)
Browser (using dolphin)
Hidden menu-use it very rarely
Rsstarter- don't know what is this for !!
Plz reply
Thanks once again

I'd advice you to keep from freezing / uninstalling apps if you don't know what they're for. It's not like you will get a huge performance improvement if you delete these, so I'd let them be.
You can freeze the LG launcher (or uninstall it if you want) as long as you have another launcher installed. This is required, otherwise you're in for disaster.
Thanks for a very quick reply
Just wanted to say after freezing some of the apps that i donf use i got a very good ram space and i feel that my device is now working much faster
Now what about freezing browser and lge hidden menu
And yeah what is rsstarter ??

It's for the Remote Screen service. If you don't use it, you don't need rsstarter. I removed it with no evident side effects.
BTW, thanks to SuperSkill I learned something new -- I didn't understand before what exactly "freezing" meant...
Thanks freezed it successfully..!

Atooma seems to be a rudimentary tasker type app.
I played around with a bit, made a profile where the vertical movement would silence my phone but the controls are way to sensitive. Just moving your wrist is enough to trigger the action. Not a bad start I guess, what profiles or uses can you guys think of?
Another semi cool action I made is when I flick my wrist, my phone opens up google now.

May be a cool way to send quick messages, need to check it out more.
I tried to set up a rule to send gmail messages, but when they come through on the gear, it just give the subject and time of the email and says to check the phone for more info.
This is interesting, are we installing this on our gear or our phones ?
Both. you need the app on your phone from the play store and the Gear app from the Gear manager app store.

You can install Wondershare Mobile2Go on pc (free trial 30 days), then appmonster free on Galaxy Gear and you can share Atooma's apk.
No root required, only debug usb enabled.

I assume this is for the gear ? Could you please supply the apk for phone ?
EDIT: Verified the APK supplied is for the gear.
The reason for this is the Atooma APK we have available on the play store is not compatible with gear.
Here's the APK from the phone
(It is too big to attach to the forum)
I've stopped using it on the Gear as the notifications just say to check the phone for more detail.
Using the Samsung email app seems to be the only way at the moment to get email details to the Gear.
I cant get these working together !
I install both apk's, although I cant see any options for the gear on the atoomba app..
I just recieve a "Please check Atooma phone app." error on the gear.
^^^I get the same as well
After both are installed(phone and watch) you have to enable the gear as a device in the Atooma phone app.
It's under the "connections" tab.

This is a weird one. Since gear manager updated today I've noticed feedly disappearing. I didn't connect the two until now. If I install feedly and then at any time afterward open gear manager, feedly is immediately uninstalled from my n3. Can anyone replicate this?

Yeah, they only reinstall if you select restore when setting up device again. Has been like that for last couple versions

It's not the GEAR version, it's the full app that it removes from the Note. I don't think there's a GEAR version of Feedly out yet

Any non-root solutions found to this problem?
Why does it have a hate on for Feedly?
Also, FU Sammy for not having the US GG ROM ready to actually make this update useful for notifications.

The only non root solution I can think of is to get everything set up in gear manager the way you want it and then install feedly. As long as you don't open the gear manager ui again feedly will be fine.

Same Issue plus
Yeah...I'm having the same issue ever since the update.
I also no longer get a full display of my notifications.
I have the note 3. Both the n3 and the gear are stock.
This is a strange one. Not only does it remove feedly, but every app I installed after the original feedly install. For me it's watch faces and zd alarm. All my other apps stay on the gear. I'm going to sit tight on feedly installs for now as its fine on my tablet.

If you're rooted, move the feedly app to /system/app either manually or with titanium backup. If you're not rooted, set everything up the way you want it in gear manager and then install feedly and avoid opening the gear manager ui again, as this is what prompts the uninstall.

Hello all,
Back in KitKat (I think), google's default app for phone/contacts had the option to only display contacts with numbers. (great idea!)
For reasons beyond anything I can imagine, they stupidly removed this feature. (Horribly stupid idea...sigh)
Is it possible to run the older phone app/contacts app on newer roms? 7.0?
I like the stock app. Fantastic app, excepting for the horrible stupid decision to break needed functionality by Google.
Thoughts? Options? Ideas?
Thanks!
Just a thought you could find the apk from KitKat and then install that. If it works. Use something like titanium backup and long press on the app from within TB and select remove market link. This should prevent the app from auto updating. Haven't tried it but i agree. The contact with phone numbers only was great.
