how to root my galaxy s? i am new in this...i have gingerbread 2.3.4

Which 2.3.4-version do you have?
Look at Settings - About phone Build-number (last thing in the phone info categroy).

I want to root my galaxy mini s5570. Now have Oficial 2.3.4 Stock Firmware By Orange.
I want to root via DooMLoRD method.
Can brick phone ?

Hello guys. I am using Galaxy S i9000. With Froyo 2.2. I9000XXJPK .

Everyone has a different favourite rom. I liked a lot: SuperOsr then Cm7 and Miui Mintberry.

if you want Samsung Rom then i would suggest xxjvu. if you want custom then cm7. and ics try cm9 alpha builds..

Thankyou guys. Wanted to know when flashing XXJVU over XXJPK cause any problems or not? I.e. Bricking or failure in flashing?

I was fearing if flashing any 2.3 Rom on 2.2 Froyo will cause some problems?

i came from froyo to gingerbread stock with kies. After that i descovered custom rom and wow.before flashing i sugest stock gingerbread. After that root ( cf root) and after that any custom rom u choose

( .. Flashing from 2.2 to 2.3.6 will cause any problems? And flashing kernel is also necessary?

I didn't flash to 2.3.6 from froyo. I let kies to update from froyo to gingerbread (2.3.3 or 2.3.4 i belive). After that i flashed cf root from chainfire to have root and cmw.

Why do you first want to root 2.2, just flash to 2.3 directly and then continue flashing ICS or JB. Please note, flash ICS or JB from GB (2.3) only, don't try to flash from 2.2.

download kies and update with that

Don't like kies too much ....i have upgraded my mini to gb from froyo via odin and I like odin .....
